I got spammed innappropriately! HELP

I was on went onto skype, and talked to my friends, until I just got a message from this person. It was probably a bot or something, but I was really scared when it happened . I was messaged by some person (Or bot) called playful exw.

i found out my prob!
here is what you do.
go to the "system preferences" on your dock.
click "software updates".
click "installed software"
if it shows something about a recent update about "EFI UPDATE, FIRMWARE, THUNDERBOLT" or anything like that, exit out of it.
go to mail.
click "mail" at the top.
click "preferences...".
find the account you are having trouble with, once you do, make sure its highlighted, then click the "-" at the bottom of the window (this will only effect that mail account, it will not effect your ical weather or not its synced thought that email account)
hit the "+" (right next to the "-") and add your accout back!
its something with that update that effected mail, i hope this works out for you, if not reply back

This could be a carry over from a previous OS X. I thought this was removed in Mavericks. See if you have this option in Mail.
Open preferences, click on the RSS icon in the toolbar, set the drop down menus to "Manually."

Ipod not identified by PC, won't turn on, got sad thing, help

I got big problems. I plug my ipod into the computer as usual and the ipod isn't identified, it's not in itunes either. Also, it won't turn on, tried resetting it and all that stuff on the support site. It's got that sad icon, which is the hard disk problem thing or something, anyone know a solution. What's your problem is 1) your ipad froze or 2) you now have no internet connection?

Then when I tried to use firefox, I got the firefox is running but not responding. tried following directions to do the profile fix, but when I tried to click on the firefox tab, I got the running but not responding message. Soooooo could not even try to uninstall because of getting the same error message. Get error message if I tried the safe mode start. Tried restarting, shut down and start. still same message.

Library of 81000 songs just got deleted -- PLEASE HELP ASAP! :(

Hi! I have (well, had) my itunes library on an external hard drive ... I started itunes like I always do (with the drive attached and on) and I got an error saying "could not import library .. renamed library damanged (or something like that)" Then, about 200 songs came up in the ipod library, with ALL of my playlists gone .. the songs/files are still on my hard drive, but is there ANY way to get all the playlists and everything else back???

You could try a system restore point to before the date that it happened.
Do this by going to Start->Help and Support. Click on the button that says "Undo changes to my computer using System Restore."
If that doesn't work, then you might be out of luck. All of your songs and all of your ID3 tag data should still be there, but your playlists will be gone. Do NOT SYNC your iPod, as you can manually add all of the music to playlists on your computer just by looking at your iPod. It will take a long time, but it will work.

About a month ago i installed an app called Mackeeper. since then a lot of spam sites just pump out of nowhere. now... the only page that starts up as soon as i get in Safari is http://www.only-search.com/?babsrc=HP_tedge&affID=129550 and can' t get rid of it. i' ve already tried Safari> Preferences> change of initial page & extension too. The problem remains. if anyone, please help me.

Yesterday, I went to power mac services to ask about the software. I was not able to open apple store and iTunes in my iPad. They've reset and restored the software and got fixed. it's funny you say that cuz i used to wrap my 2G & 3G, front & back but then when the 3GS came with the oleophobic screen, i opted to leave the glass part off.
so i'm with you on that. it was more of an experiment. i'm glad i tried it. it definitely looks and feels better. dare i say functions better too?
but i have to say, the glass did scratch a TINY, TINY bit without the protection. and that tiny bit is too much for me. lol
i just like to keep my devices pristine. i'm the guy who wipes his phone off every few hours and wraps it (invisible shield/best skins ever) before it has the chance to touch human hands. silly i know. it does pay off when the new model comes out though. i can usually get a pretty penny for my old iPhone to help pay for the new model.

Make sure Restrictions is not enabled.

My library got deleted. please help me!!!

a couple days ago I plugged my ipod into my laptop and all of my songs got deleted in my itunes library. I knew that if I pluged it in again and updated it then I would no longer have songs on my ipod but I plugged it in in the hopes of transferring them from my ipod to the library and a message came up saying something like "this ipod is linked to another library would you like to replace all files" and I said yes thinking that the songs that were on my ipod would go back into my libray but it didnt work. I dont know how to get them all back. please help.

Although your iTunes Library display is blank, your song files may still be on your hard drive.
Have a look at this article in the Apple Knowledge Base for some ideas on how to find them, changing file extensions in the search as is necessary (i.e. .mp3 or .m4a.)
If you find the files, you can add them back into your iTunes Library by your favorite method .
