Has anyone seen this one?Thought so. It's funny that's the 2nd strange email I've gotten today. The first one was from a Funeral home "EUBanks" it said I had a friend who died and they are holding the services and to view the full invitation by clicking here. I looked them up and it's a real place in Texas but at the bottom of their website they had a warning that these fraudulent emails are being sent out. Crazy day! Thanks for your help.

Here is the email -
After reading your reply, I am almost convinced that it was a phishing email. It was not personalized and was addressed to 'dear client'.
Also the entire email was a hyperlink to

which was then automatically directed to

This page looked like a genuine apple web page and all other links on this page were going to real Apple's UK website!
They did their best to convince that the email genuinely came from Apple. -

So I got this email this morning about my apple ID and that I have to review my apple ID information. Failure to do this will result in the deletion of my apple ID and iCloud. Says it needs to be done within 48 hours. Is this legit? It gives me a link to go to but I am not sure if this is a scam. Also it's signed Yours faithfully "apple iguru"

I recently purchased a MacBook Pro. After setting up my new laptop, I got an email from Apple about upgrading to OSX Lion. I wasn't sure what the email was so I accidentally deleted it. Afterwards, I was informed that I need this upgrade and I have no way of retrieving this email. Is there anyway another email can be sent out to me so I don't have to purchase OSX Lion through the App Store?
Visit http://www.apple.com/macosx/uptodate and follow the appropriate links. You will be asked what your serial number is and where you purchased your computer but you will get lion free of charge.

i just got an email from Apple, asking me to complete a survey. If I don't then I'll loose my Apple ID. I think this is spam/virus/hacker. Anybody have any info on this?
There have been a number of phishing scam emails going around for at least half a year...do not respond, click links, or do anything with that email. Apple does not operate that way.

Hi I got an email from itunes saying that my pre order was ready and when I click on the link from my ipad it takes me to the itunes store app and then it doesn't do anything help with this please .
<Link Edited By Host>Thanks for your advice, I went to the apple shop today for a face to face meeting with a tech and he checked everything and could not figure out why I was having this problem so we decided to give up on that account and create a whole new one for me using a different email address.
Now I can download apps on both my iPhone and ipad2.
If anyone is reading this in Brisbane Australia go to the Chermside apple shop and ask for Wade. He was fantastic!

I live in the US but am in Paris for three months. I can't access itunes. I tried reinstalling but got this error: Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services." I followed the Apple troubleshooting advice--delete temp files, uninstall itunes, shut down computer, restart, reinstall. What's the problem and, especially, what's the fix? Walter Cohen
I, too am having the same issues as above like the many others. For days i have been trying to uninstall reinstall as per troubleshooting but to no avail.Apple, you need to fix this!

I've just received an email from 'Apple' saying that my apple id was used to sign into iCloud on an iphone 5S. I have an iphone 4. It then asks that I 'click here' to confirm my details and change my password. How do I tell if the email is genuine?
Apple will not ask you to click a link in an email. They may tell you to log in to your account to reset your password. Go to https://appleid.apple.com and log in if you ever want to change any information in your profile (or your password). And do not click the link I just posted; instead enter it into a browser.
You can verify the devices assigned to your account by going to https://icloud.com/find (again, don't click it), where you can see a list of devices registered to your Apple ID.
As a general rule, you should never click a link in an email or forum post without verifying it first. You can see where it goes without clicking it in most email programs and browsers by hovering your mouse pointer over it. On an iPhone you can check where it goes by holding your finger on the link (rather than just tapping it). -
I just turned off Find my iPhone after hearing about the hacking in Australia. I got an email from Apple saying: your Apple ID and password will no longer be required for someone to erase, reactivate, and use your iPhone. Does this mean that anyone can have access to my iPhone? I still have to put my passcode in.
What that means is the activation lock does not operate if you did what you said you did. Bottom line, turn it back on. That will then require anyone trying to use the device to have yoru Apple ID and password.

Got the email from Apple about Aperture this morning. They had a huge omission: are they going to keep Aperture compatible with future iOS? If not, I want, at a minimum, a refund for what I paid for the app.
They had a huge omission: are they going to keep Aperture compatible with future iOS?
There will be no further development of Aperture. That much should be clear from the announcement, that Aperture will no longer be sold at the AppStore. You are lucky - you used the last chance to buy the best photos app ever Apple created. The new Photos is not intended to be used by professional photographers like Aperture was. And you will be able to use and enjoy it as long as you keep a compatible operating system on your Mac. -

Received a email from Apple stating that my Apple ID was used for a purchase not on my device. It had a link to cancel purchase but asked for my email and password which I gave then it wanted my credit card info! I didn't give that, what should I do? Do you think this is just a way to get my credit card information?
It sounds like a phishing email. You can't "cancel" purchases. You've now given them your AppleID and password, so you should immediately change your password to something new and very secure.
Also watch out for suspicicious activity on your account. -
