I got update on my lumia 535 in india but I don't know what its feature in this update. Should I update my phone or not?

It's always a good idea to get these updates. From what we know this may well be the fix for some of the touch screen issues seen out there for the 535

    I just bought a lumia 535 and it will not install with any USB cable i have on my laptop , it has windows 8.1 up to latest update. Windows update doesnt show any updates available also not after reboot.
    I downloaded the winusb phone driver from microsoft site and tried to install that manually and still it wont work
    This is really a downer, since i expected a windows phone to easily connect to my win 8.1 computer
    Even the cheapest android phone does it in an instant!

    Did you get a USB cable with the phone?
    Use the USB cable that came with the phone.
    Connect the phone to the PC.  Turn it all the way off, hold power button and slide the screen down. The phone will turn back on and it will be detected, drivers should load.
    If your operating system did not come with Windows Media Player, install the Media Feature Pack for your version of the operating system.

    I also purchased lumia 535 with grate hope. because i was using only  nokia phones from nokia2100, 3100,2700, e71. nokia was good. now in my lumia 535, voice guided navigation is not working. I got this phone mainly for this purpose. because E71 was not getting updates. now what to do. I am visiting Nokia care centers. Its purely a hardware issue. Microsoft should initiate steps to replace the faulty lumia 535 phones quickly. more over this phone came with the brand name of "Microsoft". so what we have to think. Nokia was good. but Microsoft ......... I hope Microsoft will maintain the reputation.

    Hi I'm from Philippines and I'm planning to buy a Lumia 535 next month... but I'm worried because almost all of the reviews said that it has touch issues and I'm afraid that When I buy I will also get a defective Unit with touch issues too. This is my first Lumia Phone that I'm going to buy and It's the only thing I can afford right now So is it really worth it? Does the touch issues really get fix after the update? please help.. I'm starting to love Lumia phones and I'm starting that love by buying my first Lumia phone called Lumia 535

  • Lumia 535 Dual SIM lcd suddently freeze/blank when...

    I just bought a Lumia 535 LCD Dual SIM. I charge the battery 2 times. The first charge run smoothly but when the battery charge for second time suddenly the LCD not working (freeze/blank).
    I 've tried the instructions on the website that guide me to try soft reset or hard reset by pressing the volume button and power button in certain order but there is no effect at all.
    Has anyone encounter the same problem or indeed because there are factory defects?
    Any suggestion to resolve the issue?

    Hi, @ongky74. We'd like to follow-up on your concern. Have you received any update from your vendor? What was their recommendation? Did they replace the phone or directed to you send it to the Care Point?
    How about you, @supertimin? Do you still have the phone with you or did you send it for repair? Since you've done all the recommended troubleshooting steps, your next option is to have it checked by our authorized technicians.   • Problem in developer regisgtration of Lumia 535

    I am trying to register my Lumia 535 device for windows phone development but each time i try to register, it shows a error "check if Windows Phone IP Over USB service is running or not". I have already checked that it is running, I have even restarted
    this service number of times , lock screen is open, automatic time & date update is off . All the  requirements are fulfilled even then it is not registering it.
    Please Help!

    Some of the below workarounds helped to resolve similar issues: You might give this a try and see if it works.
     1. Make sure phone has internet connection
     2. Update your development machine with all recent updates
     3. Use the right USB cable for that device
     4. Check 3rd party software

  • GPS not working in Lumia 535

    I have been using Lumia 520 since its release and switched over to Lumia 630 Dual when it was released in India and  for the same SIMs the GPS was working excellent. Recently when Lumia 535 was released I exchanged Lumia 630 for 535.While the mobile touch issues were addressed very well by the two updates -December 2014 and March 2015-I am a bit disappointed to find the GPS is not working properly as it did in 520 and 630 .When Here Drive + is opened, the green arrow appear and my location is shown but the arrow never travel in time over the map as I move in my car or walking and just freeze.If I go out of the app and return back, it updates the location but again the green arrow doe not move on the map along with my motion in car or any other vehicle.I wish to know if future updates will solve this problem or my mobile has any hardwear proplem.As I am very familiar with Lumia series since April 2013, I am sure that I am following the steps and settings perfectly.Please help me.I am  in India and I am using Airtel SIMs.

    Yes I have done all that you have mentioned.Also I have checked with single sim to make sure that it is not due to two sims.As Lumia 520 and 630 were perfectly  locating the position in the same place where I am now living with same sims , I do not find the reason to be anything external. Also I must be a bit descriptive about the problem:
    1.Once Here Maps + or Here Drive + is opened, after locating the position , the distance will display a random digit even though I have not moved at all.For example, after the app is opened Here Drive + will show distance anything random llike 500m or 1Km even if I am not moving.Only after closing and opening the app few times the value gets zeroed. This happens even when sims were tested individually as well in diffeent places in the heart of the city where mobile towers are available.Also, the distance calculated is most of the time wrong and on the higher side.But  in Lumia 520 and 630 I have seen the distance displayed is always 0m to begin with and the green arrow travel with time over the map  .But in 535 the speed used to be most of the time blank with display showing - Km/h
    I must bring to your attention that when I bought Lumia 520 in April 2013 , its GPS performance used to get affected from one up date to another and subsequent update used to correct it .In fact Lumia 630 that I bought in Sept 2014 had GPS problem but an update that follwed made GPS very perfect. As I am a traveller all over South India, I was always using the GPS and it used to work exceedingly well without the network  most of the time with good tower signal.
    The update in March 2015 updated my maps as well. Even Here Drive + was also updated this year and the version now is 4.2.5905.1 and map is 8.30.57.115.
    As I am using all the smart features of Lumia since 520, I am familiar with the operation as well performance of Lumia series .Many of my friends switched over from Android to Lumia ( 525, 630 etc) for the accuarcy of GPS in windows phone without using the internet which is a must in Android.
    I feel that 535 is finding difficult to locate the postion co ordinates and so not working accurately. Even in a car the GPS fail to track the motion in time inside the city most of the time. Where as 630 GPS worked very well even inside AC compartment without any problem without mobile data and with just tower signal.
    All the other applications are working very well.

  • Skype on Microsoft Lumia 535 freezes and stutters

    Hello dear Microsoft, I am really happy with my Microsoft Lumia 535. Great phone, great price. Skype however (which is the prime application) really behaves bad though.It freezes and stutters all the time.For example, to open the app it takes very long. To see my recent contacts takes another 30 seconds or so. To type a message to a contact takes another 30 seconds and while typing it freezes and stutters again.The performance sucks, in short.Are we expecting an update soon? This is a really bad situation, where skype on other platforms runs like a charm, but on MS's own mobile platform, just sucks.... Hope this gets resolved very, very soon! Regards, Sijmen Koffeman

    Here's an example for you to understand.
    Let say, you just bought a phone with the earliest firmware. And you planned to upgrade your phone to the latest firmware. When you update it through Zune, it will automatically update the first update, then second update, third update until the latest update. It will update all those one by one and it will tell you to unplug your phone when the latest update is updated on your phone.
    Your friend's phone is updated, but probably not on the latest one.
    Anyway, you might want to check your phone for the latest update. It is available for your phone according on your product code. If your phone has camera extras, Internet Sharing and Flip-To-Silence features, it means your phone is fully updated to the latest update.

  • Lumia 535 - Skype messaging remains days behind ac...

    I use Skype messaging on my PC and it works perfectly. I recently bought a Lumia 535 (a few days ago) to be able to use the text chatting on Skype whilst out and about.
    It all worked well until my phone did a Windows 8.1 update (took about 20 minutes to do).
    Since then Skype on my phone is a couple of days behind in its messages and thus making it totally unusable.
    I use the PC to Skype when at home and this still works perfectly. My phone however is still showing a last message from around 36 hours ago and will not update it no matter how many times I go into it to check.
    Please help - the only reason I bought a smartphone was for this reason and the reason I bought a Microsoft Lumia is because I thought Skype would work best on there (and because of the price offer at the time).
    Thanks for all your help - I need to get this sorted out ASAP.

It is also worth checking if the phone's system settings are all updated. Go to Settings > swipe to applications > store > check for updates.     Well La Dee Dah Yvonne . . . I got news for you . . . 3 different nokia employess at 3 different times and days told me that they have no idea when a new update will be out. Infact one of them went so far as to tell me to sell of my phone and buy a new one if i'm not happy with it and guess what . . . Thats EXACTLY what i did. I had 2 Nokia Lumia 710's. A black one for myself and a white one for my wife. Well so taking your Nokia Employees enlightened advice I went and bought a black Samsung Galaxy S II for myself and a white one for my wife . . . And trust me when i say this but i'm going to go around telling anyone who cares to listen how Nokia cheated a custome who's been loyal to them for the last 22 YEARS.     Hello I got update 23 and when it finished and restarts it cks all my add on's and then its ready to finish updating. but this update the cking for good add ons keeps scanning each time i turn on firefox. so the 1st part of the 2 part scans ok but when it scans the 2ed part to ck add ons it does not finish and just goes away so then every time i turn on friefox it keeps doing this instead of laoding my home page firefox keeps opening up and then the firefox home page opens when i have my home page set to open up my yahoo acct. how do i get 23 update to stop scanning my 10 add ons and will then finish installing so my windows 8 laptop will get past this problem?? I hope U can tell me what to do and all my add ons are ok and my extensions are all good too!! thanks for helping me??

    It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
    Delete the extensions.* files (e.g. extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.
