I had 160 apps in itunes , I LOST half of them ;(

So hi everyone , I had 160 apps in my ipod/itunes , and a day , I came and did a sync then i just saw that half of my apps disapeared from itunes and from the ipod too , 3/5 of these apps were bought and others free versions and I tryed getting them back from purchase history but i cant , Any way to help me get them back ?
My caractersistics :
Ipod touch 2G / 32GB / 4.2.1 / MB
Windows Vista 32 bit Family edition

If you synced your iPhone with the same iTunes library on the same computer you have been syncing your iPhone with, not sure how some of the music was lost. If you tried to sync your iPhone with a different iTunes library on another computer, all iTunes content on your iPhone would have been erased first, not just some.
All iTunes content on your iPhone including all music should be in your iTunes library on your computer.

I can see my apps on Itunes but I cannot access them.

I can see my apps on the computer screen but they are transparent. The pointer device does not work on them and they are not listed in my library in Itunes. My library shows that I have no apps at all.
Each app works on the phone but I cannot delete any apps, nor load apps via the computer. In fact none of the links - music, video, photos in Itunes when viewing or sync my Iphone work. They are all there on the screen but it looks as though a transparent film is covering everything. This has never happened before and is a recent problem. On your iPhone, go to Settings > General > Restrictions.
Is Restrictions enabled?
If so, is Installing Apps and Deleting Apps enabled as a Restriction?
If yes, turn Installing Apps and Deleting Apps off as a Restriction.

You are assuming that no one ever sells an iPhone. The registration with your serial number has nothing to do with purchases or use. Which also applies to your block.
There is now a carrier database of IMEI's in the US so whoever ends up with it will probably not be able to use it as a phone in the US. And if they restore it the phone will not activate and will become unusable.

Nothing updates in springboards after i downloaded apps in iTunes

Or did you mean you had downloaded it to your iPhone, and you were looking for the app in iTunes to activate it? If so, that is not where you would do it. You need to sign on to your iCloud account on your computer - that's where it is housed....

Apps in iTunes not synching to iPhone 4S - anyone else having this problem?

I can download apps in iTunes, and I can download them on my phone, but I can't get them to sync between iTunes and my phone. This seems to be a recent issue, it was working OK last week.

I'm also having the same issue on my iPhone 4S. I wasn't having any issues since the release date until I upgraded to iOS 5.0.1.
I'll receive text messages hours later than sent. Sometimes I'll get two or even three copies of identical text messages from my different contacts.

You don't say whether you are on PC or Mac. For Mac there are these two programs which might help (I havn't tried either) :

There are probably similar programs for PCs, but I don't know what they are. On a PC you can hold the shift key and do File > Display Exact Duplicates (without the shift they may not be exact matches) - if one of each duplicate pair has the same date added then you can sort by that and then delete those with (or without) that date.

I RECEIVED AN ERROR MESSAGE THAT I COULD NOT MAKE OR RECEIVE CALLS AND I HAD TO RESTORE VIA ITUNES. I HAVE DONE SO AND LOST LOADS OF APPS ETC (MY FAULT FOR NOTBACKING UP) BUT STILL UNABLE TO MAKE OR RECEIVE CALLS.

Phone is only a few months old and was working fine last night - it ran out of battery but on being charged up this morning it was effectively locked. I received an error message that I could not make or receive calls and I had to restore via itunes. I have done so and lost loads of apps etc (my fault for not backing up) but still unable to make or receive calls. Anyone had anything similar and can advise who I should contact or what I can do.

Try resetting your home screen layout, go to your setting>general>reset home screen layout.

apps can only ever by bought 1 time using the same AppleID
make sure the itunes on the computer you sync with and the iphone have the appleID set the same
and if you must redownload the apps if bought using the same appleID you will not be recharged for redownloading them

You can download everything you purchased from the iTunes Store without having to pay again:

Here is the procedure for your reference, using iTunes 10.7. The procedure and screenshots for newer versions are contained in the above link.
This assumes what you purchased is still available in the Store.
Open iTunes and click on iTunes Store on the left
On the right you will see this
Sign in with your Apple ID, then click on "Purchased" (with the orange blob)
On the summary page that appears select the tab "Not on This Computer" on the right.
On the list that appears, select what you want and then click the "Download" button.

Am I the only fool who clicked on update all when my iPad told me updates were available? Two updates loaded just fine, but the other four never updated and now lie useless and grayed out. Tried turning off/on and hard resetting - didn't work.
Spotlight search didn't find them either.
Had about 5 pages of apps - now only have 2 so they're not on another page.
The settings app is missing too so can't reset through settings.
They were all there last night but my ipad is almost empty when I picked it up tonight.

I recently had my iTunes lost all my apps and podcasts. I don't know what happened, but as far as I know I plugged in my iPhone to sync and charge, and after an hour I came back and iTunes had no apps. Of course syncing my iPhone meant all the apps went from my phone. Any idea what could cause this?

OK, I think I didn't make my original post clear. The files are on the PC, they're in my My Music folder (complete path as you describe).
So yes, I can drag and drop the apps into iTunes, and same with podcasts (although subscriptions are missing). And then do a restore to a backup prior to the mess up. I have done this now, however it means I've lost all app data between the backup and now. Including photos, messages, Apple app data.
Anyway, I've worked around the problem, what I want to know is, how did this happen? Why did iTunes suddenly lose all my apps and podcast subscriptions?
Could it happen again?
