I recently had my computer redone and had to redownload itunes on my computer and when I synced my ipod none of my music went into my library.  How do I get my music that is on my ipod into my library on itunes?

The music sync is one way - computer to iphone .  The exception is itunes purchases.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer files/docs/pics/music/etc.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from your ipod:  File>Transfer Purchases

I had my ipod synced to an old computer that I no longer have how can i get all my stuff on the new itunes without erasing it

    Most Windows users don't.
Purchase an external hard drive and use the backup software that comes with it to backup files from your computer.
Buy TouchCopy and install it on your new computer, connect your old iPod and transfer your songs to your computer.

  • Can someone please help i cant connect to itunes from my iphone 4 ,,i had an iphone 3 and when i got my iphone 4 i changed my email address for new itunes account and my old phone which hubby uses

Can someone please help i cant connect to itunes from my iphone 4 ,,i had an iphone 3 and when i got my iphone 4 i changed my email address for new itunes account and my old phone which hubby uses is changed aswell ..for some reason i cant update my apps off m iphone & in itunes via pc it will say apps are all up to date but i have 25 apps that need updating please can someone help ,, i can download a new app but i cant update existing ones ,,,
    very frustrated iphone user !!

Changing devices is no reason to create a new Apple ID.
All content purchased from iTunes is permanently linked to the Apple ID it was purchased with.
To update apps purchased with the old ID, you MUST sign in with that Apple ID.

  • HT1386 I have a new computer and when I tried to sync my iPod Touch with the new iTunes, it has lost all of my music and videos from my iPod/old iTunes library: including all but 4 songs of my bought songs, videos and audeobooks!

I have recently updated my computer since my old one broke and therefore had to download a new iTunes. When I came to add my iPod to this new iTunes, I was given no option to transfer the contents of my iPod library to this new iTunes and was forced to try 'sync'; when my old computer was repaired once we lost all of our data so I had to download a new iTunes then, all of my iPod downloads were transferred and I could easily reburn my CDs so I didn't think the wiping of my iPod would be a problem. When I clicked 'sync' it warned me that it would replace the contents of my iPod with the new iTunes library, as I said I didn't think this would be a problembut then it asked if it should transfer my recent iTunes downloads so I said 'yes'. The sync was completed but now I only have 4 downloaded songs and 5 albums which I burned to my new iTunes! I have lost all the music I bought, all the videos I bought and all the audiobooks I bought! (Luckily I still have my apps.) I tried to restore backup but realised that only covers calendars, contacts E.T.C and I checked my iTunes account and that shows all my downloads but I can't see a way to restore them or anything like that!
Please help! I am in despair as you can imagine how much moneys worth I have lost and am losing faith in Apple

Correct. When you update via iTunes all synced media that is not in your iTunes library will be lost.
    As IO said before:
You can redownload most iTunes pruchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
I do not think it included audio books.

  • How can I sync my iPod Touch to a new computer?

My Laptop's hard drive died: that's bad enough, but my data was backed up onto my iPod Touch, including some very rare tunes that I can't ever get again. I then installed iTunes onto my wife's desktop, but now I'm told that if I want to sync the iPod, I have to delete everything that's on it as the iPod is already synced to another computer - which now doesn't exist.
I thought that backing up my rare music to my iPod made it safe; it was on my hard drive and my iPod. Now I'm told that if I want to sync my iPod to another computer I have to delete its contents. I can't afford to lose the music, because I can't replace it. Surely this can't be right?
Incidentally, because I can't sync my iPod I have missed at least 2 appointments because my calendar isn't updated.
I understand that Apple are worried about data being copied from one computer to another, but surely there must be a way to register a new computer as one to which I should sync?.

This program can rescue your rare music for only US$25:  http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/index.php

  • I had some computer problems and now MainStage is gone. How do i retrieve it?

I had my computer quite working because it was full . i backed it up and now Main stage is gone. I have gone into apps that I bought and there is nothing in there

You can download it again from the App Store. Look in purchases. Make sure you have enough room on your drive.

  • I had computer problems and had to reload itunes. how to open my ipod on line to see what is on it.

So I had to download the new version of Itunes and have problems finding out what is on my ipod, and finding favorite podcasts.

You might get better results if you posted this question over in the iTunes forum.

  • To anyone who has had the trackpad problem and had it replaced...

So if anyone has had the trackpad problem where it doesn't click or erratically doesn't move the cursor, and HAS gone to the apple store and had it fixed, does your new one work properly now?
I have an appointment this evening to have it looked at (and probably replaced) but if this is a consistent problem with all models, its not going to fix it. I am wondering if I should wait until Apple catches on to this, and does something about it.
    Anyone have any success stories?

My suggestion would be to KEEP your MacBook. There are several other discussions with the same issue.
It seems as though this issue is widespread.
Why copy data, wipe the old one clean, trade out for a new MacBook, transfer all the data BACK .... only to find your issue unresolved?
It's not worth the hassle. My guess? Apple will issue a firmware update for the trackpad issue.

  • Computer Crashed, Can I transfer my iPod music to the new iTunes?

My computer suddenly crashed before I could back up my iTunes library. Can I transfer my iPod music to the iTunes on my new computer?

There is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward.
    YamiPod Mac and Windows Versions
    iGadget Windows Only
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions
iPod Access Mac and Windows Versions
    PodUtil Mac and Windows Versions
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions
    PodPlayer Windows Only
If your iPod is set to update automatically take care when connecting back to your computer and an empty iTunes. If it is set to automatically update you will get a message that your iPod is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press *No*. Pressing "Yes" will irretrievably remove all songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it: Managing Your Songs Manually
You can also use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys (on a Mac hold down the Option and Command (⌥ and ⌘) keys). This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer. Then go to Edit>Preferences>iPod and check the "Manually manage songs and playlists" box.
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync again. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up in case you have problems again. External drives are comparatively inexpensive these days and you can get loads of storage for quite a small outlay.

  • HT1329 How can I sync my iPod touch with a new laptop without losing apps, books, and music?

My new laptop is already authorized and I have all my music in the iTunes library. I just need to able to get all my apps on it and I need to be able to sync without anything being deleted. Please help.

Move or copy all the content from the old computer or the backup of the old computer to the new computer.
    iDevices are NOT backup devices.

  • How can I sync my ipod 6g. to a new computer with out losing all the info

My computer is starting to fail so I bought a new one. How do I sync my ipods they are 6 gen to the new computer with out losing all the data that is on the ipod?

Was your iPod previously set up to Manually Manage (where you dragged/dropped the music) or was it set to auto sync (where it started sycning as soon as you plugged it in.)?
If it was set to Manual, you have no worries. Just continue on your way.
If it was set to Auto, you will have to transfer your purchases or redownload them from the iTunes store.
You're either going to have to get the other music back from the websites/CDs you got them from before or find an iPod ripping software program that will do it for you.

  • I have a new computer my old itunes was 6 and now I have downloaded version 11 and cannot get into my account to sync my ipod tried to upload new music and erased whole ipod

I have new laptop and downloaded itunes version 11on it tried to add music to ipod touch and it erased everything on my ipod I had version 6 I think on my old laptop don't know how to get everything back on my ipod

    Correct.
The ipod will sycn to one and only one computer at a time.  Syncing to another will indeed erase the content from the ipod.
Copy everything form your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.
