I had a fully charged fifth gen iPod touch. Had nothing but trouble since updating to iOS8. This morning the iPod was fully charged. Turned it off-on standby. Came back and it won't turn on. Tried all troubleshooting tricks. Anyone ideas?
This morning, I had my fully charged 5th gen iPod touch. Have had lots of problems with it since updating to iOS8. After briefly using it (successfully may I add), I switched it off to standby. Came back only 10 minutes later, and it would not turn on. Tried all the obvious solutions, even switched out the lightening cord. Apple support could not help, and their only solution is to call. Has anyone else had this problem? Any other solutions other than obvious ones? iTunes no longer even recognizes the iPod. Thank everyone!

About the only other thing to try is let the battery drain, then attempt to charge for 30 minutes and attempt to turn on, otherwise try another cable, and/or different computer, if still no joy most likely dealing with a hardware issue, schedule an appointment with the Genius Bar at your local Apple store and have your iPod evaluated. i downloaded firefox update, had nothing but troubles since, computer crashing when i try to open, or cursor lag for a long time ie. i try to move to do something it has to think about for 30 seconds to having to pushing reset to get anthing hapening
but still freezes up i put my comp into a very good repair store cost me $119 to only to find no problem with computer, they had it running ,burning , doing everything properly, but they were using ie, as soon as i stoped that and went to firefox, back to lag etc. com bluescreen then crashing when i got home twice so far tried using previous version in system same problem, how do i send my bookmarks from firefox to ie on this system, so i can completely uninstall then reistall a fresh earlier versionI have to agree, fixing something that was working fine and replacing it with the new crap has led me to switch browsers.BIG FAIL MOZILLA

Turn off updating to keep your good working version or you will be forced to use the new version that is missing some well used features. -
i keep receiving this message "the disc was not ejected properly. if possible, always eject a disk before unplugging it or turning it off"
I had this problem too, where it seemed I couldn't go eight hours without the Duo drives dropping and getting the "disc was not ejected properly" error message.
I tried the following and so far it seems to have fixed the problem:
In System Preferences > EnergySaver, make sure the setting “Put hard disks to sleep when possible" is unchecked.
I did this only on the Power Adaptor tab, but you might want to uncheck the setting on the Battery tab as well to be safe. (In my case, the Duo drives are unlikely to be attached when I’m running on battery, so I left the setting checked for the Battery tab so that the system can still power down the internal drive.)
Since I made the above change ten days ago, the Duo disks have not dropped, even when I left the system on with the Duo disks connected for a couple of days.
FYI I have the Duo set up with two RAID 1 sets spanning the two drives. I'm using Mavericks 10.9.4. -
Currently in the dessert and have access to a computer that has internet capability, but can not get itunes. I also have my computer from home, but I can not get internet connection to it for various reasons. My computer from home has itunes and all my music. What can I do to set up this new Ipod touch?
You need an internet connection using iTunes to restore the iPod.

If FaceTime is not hidden by Restrictions (Settings>General<Restrictions) you got duped. iPods officially sold in Dubai and some other countries that prohibit FT do not have FT and there is not way to get FT on those iPods.

I pre order Iphone 6 this morning. Why was I charged a $30 upgrade fee when I havent been in a contract for almost 2 years? Also will they divide the price of the device over several bills like they have for me in the past?

If you pre-order with a two-year contract, you would need to add a credit card to your order as you will be charged for the device once it ships out. If you happen to purchase the iPhone with Verizon Edge, there is no upgrade fee. You will also be billed for the device in installments. You may have to pay a down payment with Edge. Did you upgrade with Verizon Edge or our Device payment plan in the past? If so, that is most likely why you were not charged an upgrade fee.

It has been working all day long, when suddenly my email told me I wasn't connected to the internet even though I had a solid connection. I tried forgetting the network and re-logging in and it didn't work. I tried restarting the router even though my laptop still has internet, and that didn't change anything. Under general setting I reset all the network information and it still didn't work. Since I had been previously experiencing problems with apps shutting down unexpectedly, I tried backing up and restoring my iPod and it still won't connect to my network.
Does the iPod connect to other networks?
Does the iPod see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iPod connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I am so discusted with this whole thing. I feel like I have been taken advantage of and paid way more than I should have. I could not figure the phone out and now trying to return it but once again having problems. I am old and upset about all the hidden fees I was trying to catch up but each month more charges. I am on social security disability and just can't pay any more of the extra's? I don't want this phone and now it looks like you added time on my old phone for what? that contract was paid? Well if you got the Phone Pggray43 at a Local Corporate store in your Area) you should be able to return it as long as you have all the contents.! Phone, Charger and any other accessories that came with it the Box of Course.. As long as you have not went past the 14 Day return.. the store can go over what you used as in Air Time and Data..
Now if you've went past the 14 Day return you be Liable to pay a E.T.F = Early Termination Fee the fee for this is around $300 so hopefully you have not went past the 14 Day return window the Manager if Available is the one I would talk to tell them your on Social Security and you just can't afford a phone as this I'm sure they'll work with you to get something solved..

If that doesn't work, you might want to try installing a fresh copy of Firefox:

Ipod-touch OS4 recognized but wont sinc
Ive just made the update on my Ipod touch, and it does not appear on my itunes. I do the diagnosis, and it does detect the ipod, but there is an error syncronizing, and it does not appear on itunes. Plus, on my ipod, theres the little drawing that says to connect it to itunes, and even if i unplug it, i cant go in the touch, the image is there pluged or not... HELP ME PLEASE! I hope my ipod is not busted

My iphto will not open after I had to shut down my imac due to it not being able to close iphoto . It just says opeartion not able to open.
Try at the very least to update your iPhoto version to 8.1.2.

I was using my iPad 3 awhile ago when it just blacked out and now it won't start. Can anyone please help me fix it?
Assuming that the battery isn't empty (and it can take up to 15 minutes of charging before it will respond), then have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Was the battery empty or nearly empty when it switched off ? Like ckuan says, it can then take up to 15 minutes charging before it will respond.
