I had a recent loss of my iphone. i had purchased another iphone, and had all my info transfored onto the new one . i have either lost,or some one else has taken it. if battery is dead and the phone is not activated how might i still locate this phone????
i recenly purchased a new iphone,and had my information transfored from from the old iphone onto the new one. i have either lost,misplaced,or someone else has taken the iphone. the old phone was momentarily out of service, however i had activated the "find my phone" in the settings. i figure the battry has already ran down so if it were in the house i would still be unable to locate the phone.when logging into icloud to try and locate the phone all i can find is the new iphone i recently purchased. does anyone have a few suggestions i might try to locate this phone ,or am i S.O.L. ??????
If the battery is dead the only way to find it is to physically look for it.

No there is nothing you can do to correct it. It is a hardware fault and only Apple can correct it by replacing parts in your Mac. More then likely the Logic board has failed. Specifically the GPU which is soldered to the Logic board so the complete logic board must be replaced.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Copy the iTunes folder from the disk to the Mac, and the iPhone backup to the right place on the Mac (Google for "iphone backup location"). Then when you restore you can reload the last backup.

After drying the iPod in a sealed container od uncooked rice for a week with changing the rice daily, try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem likely caused by the water. -
I have attempted to upgrade os4 to os7. At the end, it threw an error that i had to turn off "Find my iphone" on my phone, which seems to be impossible at that stage as i could not access beyond the upgrade screen.
I thin chose to set up as new iphone, but icloud has taken an old expired email address for which i do not know the password. icloud will not recognise my current itunes email and password, so i now have os7 but am unable to restore from my itunes back up.
Desperately need help please... Any help appreciated

At night, as soon as I plug my iphone to be recharged, my iphone starts behaving anomaly. It is like somebody has taken control of it. I see the screens moving, music starts playing and then stopping, etc. I have noticed that several nights. What I do is in Settings is to change into Plane Mode, thinking that, may be if I do that, somebody that has taking control of it will not be able to download data. Yesterday night, I was awakened by an alarm, whose setting I did not changed. When I looked over, the alarm screen changed to Settings and the Plane Mode changed alone in front of my eyes, from on to off.
I have not observed such a situation during the day. Only when I plug the cable.
I suspected that may be there is no Trojan installed. May be the cable, which is a spare cable, has been modified by a hacker, and it has electronics installed in the connector. But tested with the original cable, and the behavior was the same, as described above.Thanks Meg for your reply.
It could be that both cable are bad. But, anyway, you would not expect any of these manifestations, even with a bad cable. I had bad cable for my 4s, and never saw such a thing!
I contacted by chat the support of Apple. They told me that this behavior could be a software problem and recommended me to do a full recover of my iphone. That meant, putting in at the factory conditions and recup all the data from the backup. I did that, and the behavior did not change. The backup was made with the data of my PC, not icloud. Tomorrow will try with icloud and check if that will work. -

Touch 3rd gen battery is dead and wont sync with itunes
Yeah so I know the battery is dead and I keep replugging it back into the computer but nothing ever happens. Tried to hold power and reset at the same time but nothing happens. Updated to latest version of itunes and nothing happened. It is just being totally unresponsive.
Probably because the battery is dead and the computer cuts off charging since most USB port limit current to 1/2 amp and your dead battery may be trying to draw more than that. I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store to verify this.

Ever since I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 5, I have notice an extreme drainage on my battery. Before the update, I was making calls periodically throughout the day, texting, internet browsing, etc. and my battery wouldn't go past 50% by the time I got home. Now, I make one phone call and check my phone like I normally do and my battery is dead before my work day is even over. What is causing this? All my apps are closed too btw. I feel that I should not have to close and disable everything on my phone that I use reguarly every day. Apple needs to fix this issuse and quick.
How can it be a hardware issue when I wasnt the only to be having this same problem right after the new update? Anyways, problem has been solved through Apple with 5.0.1 update with a bug fix causing battery drainage.

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.

I had to restore my iPhone 4 and now all my pictures are gone. I don't have them backed up to my laptop, and I thought that they automatically backed up to iCloud but I'm not sure. I had a lot of pictures that i desperately want to get back PLEASE HELP
You should be importing pics to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera. Nothing should only be on your iphone. You should keep everything on your computer.
If you have failed to do this, then they are gone.
You can try restoring from backup. -
I had all photos on a Windows desktop. Got a mac laptop, installed LR5, and put all images from Windows onto an external hard drive. When I go to import them into LR on the mac, they are all locked. Help, please!

Yes, that's exactly what happened. If you buy another drive, you could copy from your existing drive to the new and your files will be read/write. The new drive will have to be formatted as an HFS drive (that's the Mac's format). If you need to format it, you use Disk Utility which is in the Utilities folder on your Mac. Be careful with that -- it wipes out whatever is currently on the drive. Make sure you format the right drive.
I keep all my images on an external drive, too. In fact, I have two matching drives and sync them so I always have a backup. -
