Then you will not get error 1015, the error will be some other number.

My youngest erased all content and settings on my iphone 4s (prepaid) and now it says it is not activated.I still have my account and number, but it says phone number unknown now.How do i fix this?.
If you haven't already tried, see if you can force it into recovery mode to restore it:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808. If that doesn't work, the last thing you can try is to put it in DFU mode to restore it: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2648467?threadID=2648467&tstart=0. -
Hi! I'd like to ask how to erase all content and settings if your iphone was stolen? Please help.
Were you signed in to iCloud?
Did you have Find My iPhone enabled in the iCloud settings?
If so sign in to iCloud.com > Find My iPhone > Devices & select your iPhone
Otherwise, you are out of luck. -
Erase all content and settings from my iPhone.
If I erase all content and settings from my iphone will I lose everything on iCloud? I got my phone from my mother. I would like to delete everything off the phone, but I also want to make sure that she still has everything that was on it on iCloud. I tried going on "reset" > "erase all content and settings" but then it says "Enter Apple ID password to erase the iPhone and remove it from your account, [email protected]". I´m worried that if I do this everything she has on iCloud is deleted?
Hi, first do the backup on the phone on iCloud to be sure all saved, then you can erase all and it will be saved on icloud.
also install iCloud on the pc so you check if you have all data before erasing from the phone-double sure. -

but each time i try to it said there is a problem.
help
the problem stated that the internet is not connected, but that is not the case.I had the same issue and I'm running Windows 7. Tried working with technical support for several hours but they were no help. They just had me doing the same things over and over, offering no real answers. I finally got fed up and have decided to return my product for a full refund.

I need to erase all the content and settings from old iPhone 4s. Will doing so affect content on new iPhone 6 which is using the same iCloud account and Apple ID?
No, it will not affect the iPhone 6 content if you wipe the old iPhone 4s.

If i "erase All content and settings" on my iPhone, do I loose my contacts??
If I erase all my contents and settings will I loose my contacts? Verizon has screwed up my phone when bought and didn't set things up correctly. My iCloud will not verify and my mail says my password is incorrect. So I want to reset everything
If you aren't syncing your contacts with iCloud or other cloud service, and you didn't back the phone up to iCloud or iTunes, you will lose your contacts with Erase All Content and Settings. However, no contacts will get loose.

A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (or if you forgot your passcode)
iTunes 10 for Mac- Update and restore software on iPod, iPhone, or iPad
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
iOS- Understanding passcodes
If you have forgotten your Restrictions code, then follow the instructions
below but DO NOT restore any previous backup. If you do then you will
simply be restoring the old Restrictions code you have forgotten. This
same warning applies if you need to restore a clean system.
If you need to restore your device or if you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to
update.
2. Connect your device to your computer.
3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
4. Select the Summary tab.
5. Select the Restore option.
6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up
option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not
necessary to create another.
7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
logo while starting up:
After a restore, the iOS device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. For updating
to iOS 5 or later, follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. For earlier versions of
iOS, keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or
you see "iPhone is activated."
9. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup.
If you can not restore your device then you will need to go to recovery mode.
Placing your device into recovery mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the other end
of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the
red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake
and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake
and Home buttons.
3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device.
The device should turn on. Note: If you see the screen pictured below, let the device
charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then
start with step 2 again.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
Additional Information:
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information. -
Trying to delete all data and settings off iPad - when it says to type in password, it is then saying it is incorrect although the password is working fine on all other devices.

What happens is that the weaker the battery, the less time it takes it to charge (and run down) because it doesn't take long to reach its lowered maximum capacity.
Although I never worry about my battery and leave my portables plugged in most of the time, that isn't necessarily the best thing for the battery.

I Just see a dead face on the screen i cannot do anything on my iphone and my laptop doesn't recognize the iphone when i connect it to the laptop.
Force the phone into recovery mode & restore from your most recent backup:
Turn your phone off. Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new. Follow this by syncing your content back to your phone. -
Hello im trying to "erase all content and settings" on my iphone 4, but it keeps asking for a 4 digit passcode and i have no idea what that passcode is. It's none of my previous passwords I've had on the phone since i've used it. How do i find out that Passcode?
Are you sure it's asking for a four digit code?
iOS 7 has a new feature called Activation Lock. It requires your Apple ID and password before doing something like an iPhone reset. This is a new anti-theft feature.
