I had microsoft exchange added and when I synced I lost all of my prior contacts. Also, thenames all turned to numbers. Example when you get a text from a contact, their name appeared. Now just a phone number. What did I do wrong and can I get it back?

That number is for an apple server in the UK that is used for iMessage activation. A hidden SMS is snet to that number when you turn iMessage on and is used to verify your phone number. I suggest you turn iMessage off. In settings/phone turn on dial assist. Check with your carrier to see if you can send an international SMS as you end that possibility to activate iMessage. Rest your phone (Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost).) then turn iMessage back on.

If you have failed to make sure that any apps purchased on the iphone were transferred to your computer before updating, then you will have to redownload.

I updated my iPhone today over wifi. It downloaded 6.1.3 completely and started then installed it. After the install all it does is show the connect to iTunes screen. What did I do wrong and now do I have to completely restore the phone?
Next question.... I did an iCloud save point earlier today so in theory everything should have been saved and the restore won't be a complete loss right? Please tell me my pics aren't gone.....

While my Library is turned on in iTunes, I keep getting the following message from my AppleTV: "Could not connect to Chuck's Library." What am I doing wrong. I am a newbie, just getting started. Does your Firewall allow access for iTunes, do you have any security software installed, is your network working correctly. -
So when I get a message from a friend, just the number will pop up, not the name of the contact. And when I click on said notification, it takes me to an empty message. I can go back, open my messages again, and see the real message, but this is sort of a pain. And I've tried the basic things I can think of - I've tried adding +44 to the contact name and the exact same thing happens... I've tried adding just 0 before the number (like I did when I was in England), and nothing happens. I've also tried turning my phone off and on, and I have the same issue. Can anybody help with this? It's just a minor annoyance but I'd like to have my contact names in my text messages, not just numbers - then it takes me a while to figure out who they are!

I inherited a 3rd gen iPad recently and reconfigured it with a new passcode etc. I used it earlier today without any problem then turned it off and set it to charge. When I disconnected the cord and pressed the wake also switch it opened to the passcode screen. Before I had entered three of the many letters of my pass code the screen went dark and I can not get it to come on again. What have I done and what do I do now???

What am I doing wrong? Can't get images to open correctly in CS5.
I've been using Lightroom 3 for a while and decided to take the plunge and integrate CS5 into my workflow. I'm really new to CS5, so this is probably a stupid question. When I try to edit a photo in CS5, all I see is a black screen. I can see the thumbnail in the "layers" tab, but nothing else. If I select a large area, using one of the selection tools, I see a highly pixelated picture that only resolves if I click the actual pixels button. The same thing happens when I try to open a picture directly in CS5. I can see the preview, and when I click "open" I get the same black screen. What gives? Do I have something set incorrectly, or is this just general incompetence. Any help is appreciated.

JoeThanks to all! I have a pretty old laptop that has an ATI Radeon X1400 graphics card and the Mfr hasn't upgraded that in years. Nonetheless, I downloaded the latest version and re-installed, but I still had the problem. I disabled the Open GL option and that seems to have solved the issue. What did I disable and how badly will that affect my work (assuming, of course, that I can actually learn to use the software!). Thanks again for your patience. I appreciate it.

I upgraded my iphone 3g from ios 4.2.1 to ios 6 during the process it had an error in which i needed to upgrade to to latest itunes to fix when that is finally over i finished to update but i couldn't get passed the screen with an itunes logo and a usb drive my mom told me it was locked but i still want to know what i did wrong that made it go like that and how to unlock it.

Ok what did I do wrong- I now have underscores in my website
Since installing Snow Leopard I lost my iWeb files-- I found them and put them back where they belong.
But now I notice that my websites URL has changed
It was ie: like www.blahblahblah.com
but now its getting published like www.blahblahblah.com/blahblahblah
how do I get rid of the last bit with the underscores
I have tried from iWeb on the Publishing info screen to omit the spaces between the website name
form blah blah blah to blahblahblah this still doesnt work (I get www.blahblahblah.com/blahblahblah as the published site)
What did I do wrong and how do I go about just getting the site back to www.blahblahblah.com
ThanksDo you mean like this: http://toadstutorials.info. If that's the case the only way you can get that is to have domain name forwarding with masking. However, the downside to that is visitors can only bookmark the entry or first page of your site. That may or may not be a deal breaker.
I've just noticed that iWeb is now using underscores for spaces in web site and page names instead of 20%. I don't know when it started but must have been after the latest iWeb update, 3.0.1

Here are the steps I made..
Plugged in old IPhone( IPhone 4)
Synced to ITunes.
Unplugged and erased old IPhone (IPhone 4)
Plugged in new IPhone (IPhone 4 S)
Followed instructions.
Restore from old Phone Option.
Restored Old Apps But No Contact info, Text, or Photos.
What did I do Wrong?

I just watched the tutorial and did exactly what it was telling me to do, and I still can't get it done. Once I have selected the file, I get a box that pops up that says "Subscribe now to convert unlimited number of files to PDFs. Subscribe Now. I already have done this! I am a subscriber! Please let me know what exactly are you trying to do using Adobe online service.
You might try accessing the same service for some other PDFs and check.
Have you signed up correctly at "https://cloud.acrobat.com/" using your Adobe ID credentials.
If the same message pops up, then please visit Contact Customer Care as they could let you know if there is any problem with your account.

Launch iTunes on your computer, plug the phone in & on the "Summary Pane", select "Restore". This will restore the phone to factory settings with all of your son's stuff gone. You can now use it as an iPod touch. To do this REQUIRES the deactivated sim card be still installed in the phone.

Go into your account in the App Store, sign out, do a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank then power ON again in the normal way.], go back to the Apps Store, sign in and try again.
