I had to change my email acct and do not have access to the original one my icloud, iTunes,etc have. I changed it and signed out and was able to successfully change to the new email on iTunes and Apple ID. However, I can not get icloud to change over and.

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, and if your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

As far as I am aware you cannot split, or use separately. What are you trying to archive by trying to have one Apple ID, but separate? Maybe if you can mention what your aim is, there could be a suggested solution. -
hi, I was about to reset my iphone3g when I accidentally selected erase all contents and setting. It was stucked with the iphone logo, so i tried to fix it by restoring all my datas in iTunes. I was able to successfully fix it but when I inserted my sim card it says that simcard not recognized. I tried all the solutions in the net but nothing seemed to work. What should I do? Can't get internet on my Ipad and Iphone

I just got a new Time Capsule. It is now connected to my TIME WARNER CABLE modem and I am able to get wireless internet on my Mac. However I can't get internet on my iphone and ipad. Althought the light is green and everything seems to be fine. Any clues?If you have not yet done a full modem reset, that would be the first step to perform.
Push the reset button on the modem (If present) and then power it off
Pull the battery from the modem (if easily accessible)
Power down every other device you have....order is not important
Wait for at least 30 minutes.
Make sure that the Ethernet cable from the modem is plugged into the WAN port (circle icon) on the Time Capsule
Power up the modem and let it run 4-5 minutes by itself
Power up the Time Capsule the same way
Power up each other networkdevice one at a time about a minute spart
Check for proper operation -

Copied folder smaller than the original one
Hi, when I copy my folder of Logic song material (size approx. 4,55 GB, located on the desk) to an external Harddisk (WD ´my book´, I guess Fat32, brandnew and not formatted under OS X) or via my inhouse network (on a windows PC with NTFS), the copied folder is smaller than the original one - approx. 4,2 or 4,3 GB then.
Is that normal or are files lost during the copying? I need help with this urgently, because I have to do the backup.
My system: PowerMac G5 Dual, 2,5 GHz, 3 GB RAM, Tiger (newest version), nothing special.

If you want a one off count of your folder, you can do this:
Open the Terminal (from /Applications/Utilities) and type
cdNow type a space, and then drag the folder you are interested in to the Terminal window. It will fill in the path automatically, so you will see something like
cd /Users/jdoe/Documentsfor example. Now type a return, and then copy and paste the following, as one line, into the Terminal window:
<pre>echo "`find . -type f \! -name ".*" | wc -l` files and `find . -type d | wc -l` folders"</pre>Now press return, and wait!
As an indication, for my Home folder it takes about 35 seconds on a 600MHz iBook (slow drives in these laptops) to tell me I have 16631 files and 3920 folders. The command does not count dotfiles, such as ".DS_Store", deliberately, so there may be small discrepancies. -

Did you create a NEW Apple ID or did you change the email address for your OLD Apple ID? This will affect how you update apps in the future.
Anyway, go to Settings/iTunes&App Stores, log out, then log in with the new ID. -

You know, I don't know much of computers and of technology but when I bought that ipod back when they came out 2005 I was able to download music from my CDs and from Youtube to itunes then transfer to my ipod and back and forth to itunes . Then if I had changed of computer I was able to transfer to that new computer.Why I'm not able to do it ? There is a program(Sharepod) that allow to do that but it cost $35.00 but I thought that was free or it is because that now I have to buy from itunes only?

Where do you state that you need to email the files to someone else?

This was my response ....
You can't edit any of these files without a compatible iPad app like Documents to Go (Excel, Word) or Pages (Word files).
You can open and view the files as mail attachments but you will not be able to edit them. Explain exactly what you are doing and maybe you can get meaningful instructions.
Basically I said the same thing as Julian and I thought that maybe if you explained EXACTLY what you were trying to do, it would be helpful.

I accidently turned ON contacts when I was turning ON my yahoo email account in Settings and now all the emails from contacts have been merged to create SEPARATE contact right under the original contact name. Now I have double contacts for everyone with an email address!!! how do I UNDO? it says all CONTACTS WILL BE DELETED...when I go to turn CONTACTS to OFF.
Any contacts synced with the Yahoo account will be deleted from the phone if you turn it off. They will still be out there in Yahoo land, so if you turn it off and it deletes something you didn't want to, just turn it back on again.
