I had to do a restore on my I-phone 4 because it froze. I lost all of my apps, music photos and contacts. Does anyone know if there is any way at all to retreive the photos if I hadn't uploaded them to my home computer yet. Thanks for your help!
My I-phone 4 froze when I was trying to sync some music to it tonight from i-tunes. I lost all my contact info, apps and most importantly photos. I had just returned from a vacation to the mountains and had 200 or so photos that are now lost I really would like to know if there is any way to retrieve them because I hadn`t uploaded them to my computer yet. I don`t mind if I have to pay a professional to retrieve them I just want to know if its possible. If anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks for listening and any help anyone might have.
If the photos were not backed up with a recent backup, there is NO way to retrieve them.

Can anyone tell me if there is any difference at all in the display between the 4 and 4s. It appears they are the same from the specs but I dont want to make an expensive mistake. I can use the 4 with no problems but the 5 makes me feel ill and I am hoping I can upgrade to a 4s with no issues. Any help appreciated.
In a technical sense, the differences between the displays on the iPhone 4 vs 4s are vast. I'm mean, they are both attached to 70 - 90% of the internal components and far from interchangeable. There are no differences however, that are noticeable by the user.

I use Preview to edit photos, and would like to know if there are any updates to this program in the works. It seems Apple is constantly updating its software, except for Preview. I find it crashes all too often, and also takes forever to "catch up" with me (as in spinning beachball of death) when I'm editing a lrge amount of photos. Yes, I know I should be using Photoshop or somesuch, but it's just too **** confusing, and I don't have the time to figure it out. Thanks!!
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Step 2
In the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports for crash reports related to the crashed process. The report name starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful. -
I mainly just use my iTunes for organizing and adding new songs. Most of the time I listen to my music on my iPhone. I wish it would keep track of how many times I play a song in my music and transfer it to the computer under the 'number of times played' column. It would help out so much! Does anyone know if there is a way for the number of time a song has been played on your iPhone/iPod be transferred to the songs on your iTunes number of plays?

You sound like an Apple support guy who hasn't been able to answer my questions.
To respond to some of the points you made,
- I did not ignore Ocean20's suggestion. If you has read my post, you would have known that I took my phone to the apple service centre where they tried this restore on THEIR machines. I am assuming that Apple guys know how not to block iTunes. So I actually do not understand your point about me trying the hosts file changes on my machine. Do you not believe that apple tested this issue with the correct settings?
- you also give a flawed logic of why the issue is a hardware issue. You mentioned that If I thought that the issue was with the software, i should try a restore and getting it to work. The problem is that my error (23), and many others comes up when the restore fails. And you would be astonished to know that not all errors are hardware errors. Sometimes even software errors prevent restores. Funnily enough Apple itself mention that 'in rare cases, error 23 could be hardware related'.
- all Apple has done so far is replicate the issue. I don not know how anyone can conclude that the issue is a hardware issue.
And by the way, I am not certain that this is a software bug. Again if you read my Posts, you will notice I only want a confirmation,/proof that the issue is hardware related as they mention..

i've downloaded some free games for my iphone4 but they are using my internet because they have ads. does anyone know if there are any games that don't have these ads and don't require internet AT ALL?and if i disable my internet connexion, does it help?

I updated my iPhone 3GS with the new IO6 update last night and when it rebooted, my mobileme email account had been deleted along with all of my emails. I am unable to add the account again despite copying the settings on my ipad. There must be a way to get it back? I hope? Does anyone have any ideas?
I am using incoming mail server: mail.me.com this seems to be the problem as it will send emails using the smtp.me.com server.
I have also tried imap.mail.me.com, and smtp.me.com and mail.icloud.com and smtp.me.com Nothing seems to work but it could be something simple I've overlooked? Help would be much appreciated... any method of getting the emails to my iPhone would be fine by me.Mobile Me was turned off months ago.

I used to be alble to double click and open a new page but that is no longer an option. Because you cant get a total view of the playlist it is almost impossible.. if a song is in position 95 and I want to put it at 3 I have to hold it and drag it till the curor moves.. This makes creating an order almnost impossible because you cn only see half of the songs

I am the Video Coordinator at Samford University and have found the quality of video capture on the iPad 4 AMAZING, however I need to convert all my files through a canopus in order to Capture and Cut live like I do with a regular video camera. I can get the tripod and mount for the iPad, I was just wondering if anybody knows exactly how/if there is a way to connect to the canopus from an iPad.
Look forward to hearing what you guys and girls say.I'm a bit vague about what it is you wish to accomplish. Are you trying to capture video through an external box? If so, that's not posssible with any of the Canopus boxes I'm familar with. In fact I don't know of any external video capture solution that works with an iPad, though I can't state definitively that none exist. I really don't think an iPad would be well suited for this even if it's possible. I'd strongly suggest you look into a MacBook Air or one of the current MacBook Pros. Those are far better suited for on-the-fly video capture and editing.
If that's not what you mean, please post back and explain further what it is you wish to accomplish.

I purchased books from Amazon to my Kindle app on the iPad. I can't sync the purchases to my home computer. They show up on the iPad home screen but not on the "archived items." Any thoughts?
Kindle books are stored on Amazon's servers. If you're looking for backup, they're already backed up there. If you want to read the books on your computer, you need the Kindle app for your computer, and can then download the books from your Kindle archive. If your computer is a Mac, you can download the free Kindle app for Mac via the App Store.

Does anyone know if there's any software for the iPad that allows you to trigger videos via Midi?
I am a musician and would like to trigger certain videos and audio samples via an external midi controller. Ideally I want to project the video image from the iPad into a projector or possibly via Air Play. I'm currently using Arkaos Midi VJ software on my old Macbook but would like to replace that with the iPad. If anyone has any thoughts, they would be much appreciated!
If you check the App Store in iTunes for remote control programs, you find a lot of them. You will have to decide which one is right for you.

Last night all my incoming email disappeared and I want to know if there's any way to retrieve it.
I had just sent an emessage to a clothing store using a message "box" provided on its web site. After clicking "send" I went back to my own account and discovered all the mail in my incoming box had disappeared. It is not in my trash. There was some important stuff there that I would like to retrieve.
Make an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar. While broken glass is not covered under warranty, there have been many reports of people going to Apple, and with much honest sincerity, getting a one time free replacement. It doesn't automatically mean your visit will produce a free replacement. But if you are really really nice, the Apple Associate might take pity on you. Worst case is Apple offers what is called an Out of Warranty replacement, which will cost you, but the cost is less than the cost of a new unit. They typically do not repair or replace broken screens.
Before you go to the Apple Store, make sure you back up your iPad, so you have a backup to sync to a new one...... -

Nope, this only changes it to black and magenta. I wsh I could find it again, it's there I promise.. There is a whole list of colors, I changed it to red and want to see if black is better. Just don't care for all the blue..
