Music Rescue also works as far as restoring your playlists etc. I've used it twice, you can use the Quick Recover mode, but have to click continue trial (something like that) allot, cp. to purchase option. Otherwise diesel is right as far as restoring via your purchase history.

Also before installing Please go to Applications-->Utilities--> Adobe installers and if there is any uninstaller for CS5.5 , you can remove it and do a fresh install.

Help I had to have my hard drive replaced!

Last week I had to have the hard drive on my laptop removed and replaced with a new one. I'll be honest I am not so good at tech stuff but did get an ipod guide book, and before comp went kaput I thought I saved my songs to DVD, however I have no clue how to retreive them. When I first plugged in my ipod and itunes window came up it asked me whether I wanted to replace the old library or something. So I clicked yes.
So I guess 2 issues. One is that now I try to disconnect my ipod from itunes it says it cannot be ejected as it contains files that are in use by another application. What does this mean?! And the other is trying to get my old library of songs back.
I honestly don't have a clue! But I need to disconnect so would appreciate any help asap!

Depending on whether you saved your files to DVD in folders or just as a group of files, put the DVD into your computer, open iTunes and go to Add folder to Library or Add File to Library. Navigate to the DVD and add your files back into iTunes: About the Add to Library, Import and Convert functions

By any chance do you have McAfee ActiveScan or any other disk scanning software installed on on your PC? If so try switching it off before you eject.

Go to the iTunes Store, log into your account, and click the Purchases link under the Quick Links. From there you should be able to re-download some or all of your purchased content. When I got my computer back from the shop, I had to reload all of my programs on the new hard drive. When I reloaded Firefox, t did not have my bookmarks, as i expected. iLife apparently was installed on the iMac at the time of the purchase. How do I get the program back on the machine. The Apple "Genius" at the Apple Stpore advised me to go to the iTunes store and get a download. How do THEY know that I have iLife? If the store in fact did install the program at purchase how do you get a copy to reinstall on the machine?

iLife is preinstalled on all the Macs. If you purchased iLife in the App Store or your computer came without DVDs, open App Store > Purchases and download the applications. If your Mac came with discs, insert the Applications DVD and install iLife applications

Did your Mac come with reinstall DVDs? If it did use the Applications DVD to reinstall the iLife Apps.
If your Mac came with either Lion or Mt Lion then logon to the Mac App Store and they will be in your Purchases area.

Yes thats what i thought but i only have 77 days left on my garentee so its a worry, and have to drive 1 hour to get to closest Apple shop, spent the whole day there today when i should have been at work and have to make the drive again on Monday Then back again next Friday to pick it up.
