I had to re-download itunes for my computer, how do I keep the songs that I did not buy from itunes?
I had redownload itunes because I had to get a new harddrive for my computer. Some of the songs from my ipod are not purchased from itunes. They are from cds and songs I have downloaded from the computer. How do I keep those from being erased when I sync my ipod onto itunes?
Ideally you should restore your library from a recent backup - hard drives fail, usually without warning, so you should always maintain a backup of all data that you value. Otherwise, see turingtest2's user tip on Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

it was not broken due to drop..we charged it and afterwardse we saw that there was a crack..if we drop it i think it will not only have a one small line...but anyway the authorized resseller facilitated the reporting of the complain of our ipad2...i think they have it pictured and send it to the apple.com...apple.com replied that my case is approved and still under warranty...they send it to the Authorized apple repair center...
I actually got a brand new ipad2...they replaced a new one..but they charged me for the FREIGHT for the reason that i did not buy it in their APPle store...that i bought it on Apple online... -

You buy one and only one download.
It is your responsibility to move/copy/backup your music.
Certainly you did not update your ipod without making sure that you had transferred anything purchased on the ipod to your computer and included it in your regular backup copy of your computer. -

Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links.
You can re-download your available previous purchases. -
I recently downloaded mountain lion and just had it emailed to me but I'm having trouble downloading it to my computer. I cannot find the button that says "redeem" under quick links.
You must have a minimum of OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8 installed on your Mac to have the Mac App Store. The Quick Links are on the Featured pane.

You can transfer songs that you didn't buy from the iTunes store but it requires third party software such as Suneti. This is one of the best programs I know for the task and unfortunately I'm not aware of any freeware programs that transfer music from an iOS device to the computer.

I "sent as gift" two songs to a friend. She can't find them. Are they sent to her in an email? Will they download during a sync? How can we recover the songs and get them to her iPhone?
