I had two backups listed in the information about my icloud account. I thought the newest backup would have everything. Is there any way to retrieve what I deleted? I lost contacts, calendar events, etc.
I, apparently, mistakenly deleted an older backup to iCloud. I thought the newest backup would have everything - the original infor + what had been saved recently. So, I deleted the older backup. Now it seems that contacts and calendar events have been removed from my phone and MacBook. Is there any way to retrieve that?

And actually, no I am not sure that the contacts aren't being restored, but then overwritten by iCloud because it has more recent data. I don't know how to find that out.

Itunes content is not included in the backup that itunes makes when syncing.
You should always make sure that you have transferred all of your purchased itunes content to your computer before any update.
If you failed to do this, then you can redownload as expalined in the previous post. -
can anyone help me please. i stupidly deleted icloud as i thought that was what was giving me problems with phone. didnt realise it would delete all my contacts as well. i then, again stupidly I think, synced my phone backing up the phone to the computer and probably overriding the cotnacts that were on my computer? It's nothing to do with my computer, and I've been to the Geniius bar but they couldnt help and nothing I seem to do lets me update my Apps and even worse, I cant even buy any more. Any suggestions?

iphone 3 dropped in salt water. Appears non-functional - won't turn on. Nothing on SIM card -- had that checked. Is there ANY way to retrieve the photos and contacts. There is no backup of them.
leave the phone in rice for >24 hours to see if it will recover
you can check itunes as well to see if there are backups there from the top of the screen hit edit (itunes on mac) > preferences > devices , and see if a backup is listed
also check icloud.com to see if you had any of the information backed up there (only possible if have have a 3gs or higher)
also there are data recovery companies that can recover data even from wrecked hard drives but its not cheap, if your interested in that I would say lookup a company called drivesavers, I believe they are authorized to work on even in warranty iphones

I just noticed that all my calendar events past the last 30 days are no longer on my calendar,(other then yearly recurring) . Is there a way to retrieve them or are they lost? I need them for my business!!
Thanks for your reply. I did this and the events have not been restored. I am clouding between my iPhone and iPad and changed the settings on both devices. Do I need to power on and off?

When I updated my iPad to ios5, I lost all my calendar entries. Is ther any way to retrieve the information? This was before iCloud was up and running.

I need to find past work dates and information for taxes and claims, etc, but the calendar app seems to have erased everything dating back further than a few weeks. Is there any way to retrieve this? The IOS walk thru doesnt explain that not syncing ALL EVENTS means they'll all be erased. Dumb. This is kind of imprtant, Apple, for an 'everything' device. Please advise. Not sure what you mean by 'turn off calendars'. Do you mean under 'accounts' that i should delete the previously synched calendar accounts from the iphone and then turn it back on? This will restore all the information?

So my phone is messed up and you can't do anything with the screen...in order for me to sink it to back up i have to enter the passcode because it had a lock on it...and i can't due to it being messed up...is there any way around this...

The other day i deleted my email accounts off of my ipod and only reloaded a few of them. today i looked at my notes to look at a project i had typed on my notes because i didnt have paper and pen around to write it and i didnt want to froget. I reloaded the rest of my emails in hope that everything would reappear but sadly only some of them from 2010 loaded. Recently i had update some of the files and they were like they were when i first created them there were alos ones that i had deleted long ago. I've synced my phone, accidentally, to my wife's account and now lost all me photos and data... Is there any way of retrieving it all? The bigger problem is I can remember when my phone was last synced to my account so the info list is not on there either
To see if there are any backups of your device on the computer, go to iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices.
Moving the mouse over the listed backups will tell you to which device they belong.
If there is no backup of your phone listed, your data is gone.

Yes. Sign in to the iTunes Store with the same Apple ID you used to buy the music in settings on the phone.
Then tap on "purchased" in the iTunes app on the phone and download the music to your new iPhone.
