I had wiped my memory to fix problems on my computer. After getting it back up to date by installing Lion. I tried using migration assistant to put back my memory. Once i had done so I can't seem to access my memory, and suggestions on what to do?

I have a 2008 MBP and a 2011 MBP both running snow leaopard. I originally used migration assistant to transfer everything from the older machine to the newer one when I bought it. Now I have a faulty hard drive [that causes a lot of pinwheeling] that needs to be replaced by apple.
Although I have all my non-OSX data backed up I'd rather not have to go in and backup each application before I get the laptop serviced. I was wondering if I could use migration assistant to transfer everything from the 2011 machine back to the 2008 machine and then when I get the new hard drive I can do it again from the 2008 machine to the 2011 machince.
Basically use migration assistant to do a backup that I can then restore later.

Interesting question! May work if the files are compatible with the os on the older machine. See if there is a solution in the How to use Migration Assistant to transfer files from another Mac and Migration Assistant tips and tricks articles.

When can I unplug firewire cable after using Migration Assistant

Just got a new dual core Imac and successfully used Migration Assistant to transfer everything from my old G3 iMac.
Have got a orange firewire hard drive icon on my desktop - now what do I do?
I cannot eject this hard drive, so is it safe to just unplug the firewire cable from both macs? How do I restart the old G3 mac as its still in target mode?

Select the icon, CMD+E should remove it from the Desktop, shutdown the G3, and remove the cable.

I have updated my mac pro to recen update of Mavericks and since I have done this, I can't seem to synch outlook calender from mac to ipad.
I have read everyone who are having the same problem.
Does this mean that until Apple comes up with some solution, I am stuck?
Can I revert back to OS X which was working fine for me.
I am a new mac user and thought update was something I needed to do without realising that some functions will be deleted.
This is really disappointing as I have been a new convert to Apple products.
Does some know how I can go back to OS X?

After you download the upgrader, you will need to go to your Applications folder and find the Utilities folder.
In there will be the iPhoto Library Upgrader (version 1.1). Open the application and follow the instructions. Should get you going.

1) The best way to relocate the iTunes library folder is to move the entire iTunes folder with all subfolders to the new path, then press and hold down shift as start iTunes and keep holding until prompted to choose a library, then browse to the relocated folder and open the file iTunes Library.itl inside it.
If you've done something different then provide some more details about what is where and I should be able to help.
2) Purchases on the device should automatically transfer to a Purchased on <DeviceName> playlist, but it my depend a bit on whether automatic iCloud downloads are enabled. If there is a cloudy link then the transfer might not happen. You can use File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. In iTunes you should also check out iTunes Store > Quick Links > Purchased > Music > Not on this computer.
3) Backup the device, then immediately restore it. In some cases you need to add a restore as new device into that equation. Obbviously not to be attempted until you're sure all your media is in your library. See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device should it be needed.
4) I believe there is complimentary 1 incident 90-day support with hardware purchases, but no free software support for iTunes itself. AppleCare gets you a different level of support.

Firefox 4 saves the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session. 
Use "File > Exit" or "Firefox > Exit" if you want to restore multiple windows. 
You can use "Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session at any time. 
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default about:home Home page.
Another possibility is to use:

I trialed the Adobe XI and signed up for the subscription. I thought I had downloaded it but I cannot seem to access it. The trial version keeps blocking me.

Why can't I seem to use migration assistant to move applications from time capsule to iMac?

I just want to use Migration Assistant to move select applications to my new iMac. I can't seem to find a way to select only a limited number of applications to transfer. I want to move applications such as a Canon Utilities and Image browser applications that came with my Canon camera that I bought. I loaded the original software on to my Macbook Pro with the discs. I can't do that with my iMac (obviously) so I'm hoping to get my canon software onto my iMac through migration assistant. Please help!

It is not as fine grained as that.. you select all or nothing.. At least from my experience using it.
It works if you remember that all the applications will be imported to a particular user profile.. simple create a new user.. log in with that and accept what you have to to get the applications you want.. although I would suggest most things are available for download nowadays.
You can also keep using your old MBP if it is still working and simply copy the files on the CD to the new computer via the disk in the MBP.
