I hate my iPhone 5

Since the warranty ran out on my iPhone 5 in March I seem to have been besieged by problems, some the phone and some the  EE/orange network
1. the battery life is down to 4/5 hours - granted chat/text and google a lot but still
2. It sends/receives messagss when it feels like it - I receive messages that re 2 days old and it sends the same one to the same user 4-11 times
Imessaging has been hit and miss, quite a few don't send and they don't automatically send as a normal text either. I have checked the settings and they appear to be correct. The phone has now decided that some messages need to get sent over and over - one text was sent 8 times, and another 5 times. Messages come through on random dates and times, my friend who has iphone text me on a Sunday, kept telling her it was undeliverable and she sent another message. This did come through then randomly the original message came through on Tuesday. Other messages from her had come through on the Monday with no problems.
3. I have no signal at the front of the house and now no wifi outside or at the top of the house despite my much older iPad being able do both.
4. It takes 20mins from entering the house for the wifi to kick in, costing me a fortune in data if I forget
5. Gets the hump in a 3G area and refuse to connect,  have to turn into airport mode for 10+ seconds to refind signal
aaaaaaahhhhhhh I hate it
£180 to come out of contract for a phone I can hardly use, have done all the resets suggested by Apple and now cannot use the long lead required to charge my bedroom and can't find the original lead - much too short and flimsy
And according to apple website my serial number suggests I've already had the battery replaced so that isn't an option either

4-5 hours of battery life with heavy usage sounds about right.  Modify your usage habits or charge your iPhone more frequently.
What did your wireless carrier say about your texting issue?
Your iPad has a larger and stronger wi-fi antenna.  Your situation doesn't seem abnormal.
Train yourself to remember to turn your wi-fi on/off as needed.  Set up a location based Reminder if that will help you.
Your cellular data connection issue combined with your reported texting issue suggests there is a problem on the wireless carrier side.  Talk to them.

    You'll have to reduce the size of the data you're trying to backup to iCloud, mainly photos inside the camera roll, I got the same "out of capacity" message after I imported all my photos from my Canaon 50D to my iPad. After importing them to my computer I was able to back up to iCloud again without buying additional space.

  • TS1538 Windows 7 & iTunes hate my iPhone 4S; HELP!

    Windows 7 will not recognize my iPhone 4S nor will iTunes. I've followed the directions at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 & nothing has helped. I uninstalled MobileMe, but that didn't help. Other ideas?

    Temporarily disable any security software on the computer, then attempt to sync content to the device.
    If that resolves the problem, contact whomever supports the security software (not Apple) and inquire how to prevent their software from intereferring with iTunes.

    The Sync starts and finsihes but no changes are made to the content on the iphone. No files transfer. Tried both wifi and cable sync.

    I originally tried the Manually Manage Music and Videos and even though I selected what I wanted to copy and then clicked the Sync button.....nothing gets copied over.   I then tried copying over my entire library (and I expected the phone to explode since my library is HUGE) and clicked the Sync button....nothing got copied over.
    I have uninstalled iTunes, reinstalled iTunes (and lost half my library thank you Apple).
    I have deleted my iPhone backup.
    I have updated my iTunes (not that there were any new updates).
    I have updated my iPhone (not that there were any new updates).
    I have changed and tested every single setting, every which way possible and NOTHING works.
    I can sync movies, pictures, apps - no problem whatsoever.  But music?  Forget it.
    I hate the iPhone and I won't recommend it to ANYONE.  All I wanted was an all-in-one device to make my life easier and this is NOT IT!  This should not be this hard and as far as I'm concerned, Apple failed BIG TIME.

  • Iphone 3G 2.0.2 "Apples Screen of Death"

    I have had my iPhone 3g over a month and have been trouble free until a week ago when I (very normally) downloaded an app over my home wifi network. At this point the phone frozen and then went into "Apples screen of death" I was about to go out very anoyed it took 3 hours to figure what to do and then complete a total restore 2.0.2 software... i didn't have any problems till then Now I have HAD to restore 5 time on two ocassions one after another.
    I feel really let down by Apple as I have spent alot of money and continue to spend (via contract) on the iPhone i shouldn't have two spend 2-3 hours a time correcting their issues!! In terms of technical support there is very little advice other than keep restoring!
    Sorry for venting but seriously anoyed!!

    I agree. The restore takes forever, even going to "factory default". If you choose to restore your backup, you can add several hours (which is absurd for a 16GB device that's half full, like mine is). I've done it about 8 times in the last 7 days. At this point I'm willing to give Apple one more chance and see if the 2.1 software makes it better. The first time it happens after 2.1 is out, it goes back to the store and I will be insisting on a refund, I don't care about the 30 day limit.

    Hey guys, just got an iphone 3G. Now, I had a 2nd gen ipod touch until recently and the wifi never had a problem in my house. Just got an iphone however, and it seems every 2 out of 3 times I start using the wifi on it, after a minute or two it will just lose the whole network. Even my imac will lose all wifi. It's the like the modem hates my iphone for some reason. The only thing to get it back up, is resetting the modem every time which is a pain. any ideas??

    tried it mate, now the thing is, my wifi button is not grayed but it can not find the wifi signal ! sometimes it can, and then it looses the signal ! so in my opinion, there should be some solution or patch for it coz if it has a hardware issue then it stays as grayed but now it's not ! so yea waiting to have some solution for it. Thanks though really appreciated !

    I hate my iphone because when one thing gets fixed, it messes up something else. I had to go get it fixed friday. Software issue. Now my bluetooth won't work in my truck. We have tried several times over the weekend and it will not connect.

    Calendars and contacts should still be on the computer you sync with. If not, they will be in your most recent backup of that computer.

    DFU mode is a state that you can put your iPhone into where it can interface with iTunes but does not load the iPhone operating system or boot loader (this is what really differs DFU mode fromrecovery mode). DFU stands for Device Firmware Update.
    What is DFU mode used for?
    The primary reason people need to access DFU mode on their iPhone is to change the firmware on the device. This can serve to downgrade to a prior iPhone firmware and operating system, or to use a custom firmware that is required for a jailbreak or SIM unlock. For instance, if you got theiPhone OS 4 download installed and decided you would rather have a prior version of the firmware on your iPhone, you would need to do this through DFU mode.
    How to enter iPhone DFU mode
    Connect the iPhone to your computer and launch iTunes
    Turn the iPhone off (hold down the power button at the top of the iPhone)
    Hold down the sleep/power button and home button together for exactly 10 seconds, then release the power button
    Continue to hold down the Home button until a message appears in iTunes telling you an iPhone in recover mode has been detected
    When you are in DFU mode your iPhone screen will be completely black
    Even though the screen is black, that doesn’t mean the device can’t be interfaced with either iTunes or a custom firmware client (for jailbreaking, etc).
    Remember that if you see the restore logo, iTunes logo, or any message on the iPhone screen, you are not in DFU mode but standard Recovery Mode. Again, DFU mode is signified by having a completely black screen on the device. If anything else is the case, repeat the steps above until you enter into DFU mode successfully.
    Exit DFU mode on iPhone
    The simplest way to exit out of DFU mode is to hold down the Home and sleep/power buttons on the iPhone while connected to iTunes. Then just hit the power button as and this should reboot the device as usual.
    And if you’re curious, yes this works all the same on an iPod touch.
    The most common use for DFU mode is to jailbreak. It’s not unusual for people to buy an existing iPhone and jailbreak the device to use the phone on another network or overseas, this is often a cheaper way to get an iPhone than to sign into a contract with AT&T, pay roaming charges, or pay the full iPhone 4 price. This is assuming you can find someone with the new iPhone that will sell it, considering how tight iPhone 4 availability and demand is at the moment, that might be difficult!

    This happens to me INCESSANTLY.  I'm looking at my calendar events one second, and POOF!, the next second all of the events I've entered into the calendar- with the exception of birthdays that are on the actual contact information for a person- are GONE.  My calendar settings are set to sync all events- no timeframe- and always have been.  This happened to me nonstop on my old iPhone 3GS, and I was sure it was the phone causing this issue.  Now, I have my new iPhone 5 in my hands and same ol'   , different equipment.  I have done EVERYTHING I can think of to prevent this from happening or to restore the data- including rebooting, holding home button and on/off at same time, etc.- and NOTHING works to restore the data.  And then, just as magically as the data disappeared, POOF!- the data is back randomly sometime later.  That "later" may be 5 mins, a day, several days.  This is an absurd and EXASPERATING glitch that APPLE NEEDS TO FIX IMMEDIATELY!!!  I'm starting to hate the iPhone and Apple in general when I continuously experience HUGE glitches like this that have a profound impact on what you're trying to accomplish within a feature that you DEPEND on... yet Apple has "never heard of that problem before".  You suck, Apple.  Don't send your problems out into the real world, to users who just gave you $800 for another glitchy piece of equipment that never solves your software issues.

    Try to reset your device. This won't delete your data stored on the phone.
    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button
    Press and hold on the Home button
    Keep holding both buttons until the display turns off and back on with Apple logo on it.
    Alternatively, you may go to Settings - General - Reset - Reset All Settings
    If this does not help, try these steps. Note that this may erase the data from your computer.
    You need to restore your device to factory settings.
    Take a look this Apple Support article: Use iTunes to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support.
    If this does not help, try the recovery mode. Turn your device off, then plug it to your computer with the home button pressed. You will need to have iTunes installed on this computer. Keep the Home button pressed until you see the iTunes logo on the screen of your iPhone. After that on your computer you should see the iTunes window saying your iPhone needs to be restored to factory settings. Click on the restore button.
    If this does not help, I think you need to visit your local Apple Store to have your iPhone repaired.
