I have 17gb of "Other" on my ipod... Where did it come from

So i had to Restore my ipod and had some minor errors but all worked out. As i was adding my music back on to my ipod i stared seeing my "other" bar going up and up and up. eventually reaching 17.6 gb. with only 9gb of music. Where did this come from and how can i get all my music back on! Please help!

That seems like a goshawful amount of "other." You might want to try the whole enchilada.

Either you enabled the guest user, or you enabled Find My Mac, which requires there to be an active guest account for a thief to log into, so that they'll connect to the internet and allow you to locate it.

To check your S.M.A.R.T status open disk utility and click on your drive and then click on the info icon.

When I click the Sections button then click on the 1st page I get a page that is titled "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet"! Where did it come from and how do I get rid of it. I have tried deleting and "dont save" but it comes back.

The icon is +Sections, not just Sections, as in "Add a Section". When you click that icon you get a section break and and a new section template, complete with preformatted text called placeholder text. The reason "Lorem ipsum" is there is so you can see what the format looks like. The reason that it is Latin gibberish is so you won't get hung up on, or distracted by, what it says. It's just a display of format. Select the "Lorem ipsum" text and start typing your content.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

Photos on 30 GB Video iPod - where did they go?

I had 1200 photos on my iPod - now I have 32. I connected my iPod to my new iMac - where did the rest of my photos disappear too? HELP!!! Originally they were on another PC not a Mac. My other PC died.

Thanks for the input. I lost 1200 photos then I hope I put them on a disk somewhere. Otherwise, I am up the creek w/o a paddle. (sigh).

Recently purchased iPod Touch did not come with current firmware

I have just received my 32GB iPod touch from china but it did not come with the 3.0 update.
Why do I have to pay for an update that was released over a month before I bought the iPod from Apple?
Also, iTunes will not stop bothering me about updating to 3.0. Every time I open iTunes, a popup dialog come up asking me if I want to update the iPod Touch to 3.0.
I would love to update but I refuse to pay for an update that's over a month old.

Well, 3.0 really isn't an update as much as it is a new accessory for your Touch. It may seem like it should be an update, but it introduces many new features. If all it did was fix some errors it would be an update, but this is an entirely new release, hence the $10 charge. Trust me, you're not alone in expecting a new Touch to come with 3.0, but the reality is that this is how Apple's done this in the past (when 2.0 came out, the 1st generation Touches did not come with it -- only the 2nd generation ones did). iPhone users get 3.0 for free, but in reality that is a perk that Apple gives them for paying a monthly access fee. My guess is that 3.x won't come with a brand new Touch until the next generation is introduced.
As far as the incessant "do you wanna buy 3.0" message, that may eventually go away if you decline it enough times.

I have no history, its not tracking anyting where did it go?

i upgraded a while back to firfox 5 and have had no history since may, it just stopp0ed tracking this. i have xmarks installed. it works fine on my laptop.

i uninstalled and reinstalled no luck there. also are pinned app adds supposed to disappear after you exit firefox and come back in? i really love that feature although when i start up firefox all these pages start loading and i just don't have the band width so they mostly error out no reply from server and that sort of thing and my browsing crawls for a few.

so my old laptop was a HP pavilion Vista. And my new laptop is a samsung windows 7. I pluged my ipod in as usual, transfered all purchases, yet all that got moved into my library was just what was stored on my ipod at the time, I had authorised my new laptop yet i still dont know how to get everything grouped into my new laptops library... How do you do what?
Copy everything that you included in your regular backup to your computer.
Copy contact back to the computer, copy calendars, copy documents, etc.
You can type "move itunes library" into the Google search bar for itunes instructions.

Hopefully someone inside Apple will see this and help us People that are using Apple devices but we do not have the option to change to our own language. Brand new iPod touch did not come with iOS 8

Just got a new 16 GB 5th Generation iPod touch. Not only does it not have iOS 8, I cannot get it to update from 7.1.2. Why is Apple advertising the latest iOS on these devices but selling them with an older operating system? Did they actually sell me an older iPod?

iOS 8 was released on September 17, 2014. It is possible that you got one that was manufactured prior to that time. They don't go back and unbox them all and upgrade them. Similar thing happened to me with a MacBook Air that I bought shortly after an operating system was released. It should however be easily updated. You may be able to get help with that issue here or from Apple support or return it if still in the return period.
