My computer is associated to the account that I am not using anymore. Can I merge the 2 accounts or at least change the account to wich my computer is associated?

I have PE11and LR5 and want to use/create one catalog or source file.

When I use the LR5 function "upgrade PE catalogue" for use in LR5 it works very well (first time! great new function) - however - it does not recognize the 6000 photos the still are in the subfolders from "my pictures" like c:/my pictures/adobe/digital camera/date these files where created by earlier PE versions.
So the question(s) are:
1. How to move all the photos in sub folders from "my pictures" - without having to do that one by one - so the LR5 function "upgrade PE catalogue" will recognise all the photos
2. Is there another way to build one source file "my pictures" to use both in PE11 and LR5 without loosing metadata - qualifications and tags. I have a large collection of photos (>15.000) as I work on (semi) professional base since a number of years.

I don't think you answered either of my questions, and thus I am not able to help further.
So, to ask again, hoping for a direct answer this time:
1. Are these "left behind" files in formats recognized by Lightroom? What are the formats of these photo files?
2. Are you saying that (other than for these 6000 files that were not converted), the metadata did not show up in Lightroom?

Aperture added a second view to your library.
You now have an additional section in your Source list , called events. But this section lists exactly the same events that you are seeing in the "Events" view. Don't delete anything from there, or you will delete your photos. But you can press the "Hide" button to collaps that section. But someday you may want to use this list. It makes it very easy to move photos between events.

Only iTunes Support can potentially delete an account, which will also remove any content that was downloaded on the account : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
If you don't want to use the account anymore then you can log into it and remove any personal info from e.g. payment details. If you have any downloads on the account that you want to retain access to then remember the id and its password, you will need them if you want to redownload them, authorise them on a new computer, and download updates to its apps.

Do your children have separate user accounts on the shared mac? They can have their own user accounts with their own AppleIDs, but you could put the iTunes Library into a shared folder, or better an external drive with the ignore ownership option set.

Somehow I managed to create two Apple ID's. This started even before I got a Mac but when I opened my iTunes account...
Anyway, how do I merge them or do I have to figure out how to delete one profile? I'm only one person with one iPod and well, two Mac towers.

I am not mad at all and I am certainly not trying to start an argument.
I was simply just pointing out that this is the same for all tech companies and not just Apple.
Maybe it is simply that your exposure is only with Apple. I work in IT and spend my day managing a Windows network and the same refresh cycles exist. If you stand still, tech passes you by. I still have old machines on the network that serve their purpose and as long a s they do, it is irrelevant to me if they are supported or not.
I love my old G5 but it's now collecting dust because it still runs but it's "outdated".
Being "outdated" certainly does not make it useless. If it does not do what you need it to do then that is a different story. Hardware improves, software takes advantage of it and eventually old technologies become insufficient to run newer software. You certainly have the option to run the older software on the older machine but if you want the new bells & whistles it requires improved hardware. It is a matter of expectation.

For username and password, you need to use the username and password for someone that has an administrator account. If you have an admin type account, then just use your username (the short one, which is the name of your home directory) and password.
If not, you need the username and password of someone that does have an admin type account on your computer.
It need not have any relationship to any account used to set up the system or any software on it.
If you can do software updates using your name and password, then you are an admin user. Use your username (the short one, not your full name) and your password.
You can get your short username in Terminal:
echo $LOGNAME

I would not mind repurchasing the songs/apps if I need to. How can I make a list of what I bought/downloaded on each account withut having to inspect each of the hundreds of items listed?

I have just bought a new laptop and want to use this one for my i pod. When i tried to do this it say my i pod is already synced to another computer. How do i 'un-synch' the old one. It does offer to synch the i pod to the new laptop but only for purchas,

The i pod will synch purchased songs to the new library but that would mean losing most of my songs. I tried home share but that only showed the purchased songs too.
I would lie to un-synch the old laptop, de-authorise it and remove i tunes altogether as i want to give it away.

That's not how it works. Authorising is for music purchased from iTunes, not for music you've imported from CDsor elsewhere. Music purchased form other suppliers would also not be subject to this authorising procedure.
Do you still have the old computer? If so, you need to copy the iTunes Library from that to the new computer. For example, in Windows XP, I would copy the My Music folder (which contains the iTunes Library, my Amazon MP3 purchases and album artwork) and put that onto an external drive. Then move the drive to the new computer and copy the copied folder onto the new machine thereby replacing the new machine's My Music folder. Then tell iTunes to look at the imported Library.
Obviously, you need to take into account that you have Windows 7 (where I assume the folder names may be different), any other places on you old machine where songs are located and so on.

Find My iPhone is tied to the iCloud account that each device is using. You can track all your phones without sharing the same iCloud account by going to icloud.com, signing into the account that the phone you want to track is using, and clicking Find My iPhone. This can also be done from your phone by using the Find My iPhone app (available in the App store).
Of course, you could track them all using a single ID if you were willing to share the iCloud account across all the phones. However, there are significant disadvantages to doing this. They would all share the same 5GB of free iCloud storage, the same iCloud email account, the same photo stream, and all the synced data (contacts, calendars, notes, reminders, etc.) would be merged across all of the phones. If they belong to different people, you would end up with each other's data on your phones.

when you open the app store scroll down to the bottom it will display the apple id currently in use, change it to your normal apple id email

HT4352 Will homesharing share the content of different iTunes accounts within the home? ie wife has account and purchased songs. I have different account and want to listen to them on my Apple TV.

Have 3 family members with three accounts. Homesharing is supposed to be set up all computers with the same (one) account. Then, will the content ONLY of the set account be shared? or will ALL content of those who sync with those computers be shared?

As it stands iTunes cannot be accessed via ATV's and nor can it be streamed via AirPlay from iTunes to the ATV
However I can access all films/iCloud content via my Mac Mini with no issues!
