I have 2 constant pop ups on my computer: Crackle and CrashArcade

The last couple of days when I have been watching videos on my MacBook Air I get two pop ups, Crackle and CrashArcade.  When I googled them they appear to be malware.  How do I get rid of them.
I am using Google Chrome as my web browser
Thank you

Adware Medic said I didn't have any issues but its still happening
Then the issue is either not caused by adware, or it's caused by adware I haven't seen before. Either way, for further steps, see:

Click here and follow the instructions, or if desired, run Adware Medic; the second link is a direct download.

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
    Click:   Remove All Website Data
    Then delete the cache.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that didn't help, troubleshoot Safari extensions.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.

  • Constant pop-ups

keep getting pop-ups.  ran anti virus and found nothing.  deleted a few downloaded apps and did not help.  anyone else encounter this?

this is caused by one or more apps that have been installed... go to the market and see if they have
Air Push Detector or Ad On Detector and see if it will show which app is causing it.. also you can check apps and see it there is one call AirPush Defender which will block all of that or Airblocker in the play store.. it is worth paying a few cents to stop all that than deal with the popups which in some case do damage to your device.....
please advise if this helps you
oh and if you get it figured out what apps is causing after removal make sure to clear history
I don't believe this unit is rooted but there also might be a root/install Adfree under the store link too..
please let me know if this helps..

  • How do i get ads and pop ups off my computer?

    Mac Book Pro
Processor 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Version 10.0.1
How do I get ads and pop ups off my computer?

Your question is one that tends to bring out the worst of all the bad advice that infests this site. There is, in fact, no need to download anything to solve the problem.
You may have installed one or more of the common types of ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it. It's been reported that some variants of the "VSearch" malware block access to the page. If that happens, start in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime, then try again.
Back up all data before making any changes.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, ask for further instructions.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. It may have come from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
Malware is also found on websites that traffic in pirated content such as video. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
    or
Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
    if it's not already checked.

Anyone have no service pop up with the new update and stay like that

Try a Reset holding the Sleep button and the Home button together until Apple logo shows up and then wait for the Reset to return you to the lock-screen.   If you still don't have service check Settings>General>About and then scroll down to Carrier and see if your Service Provider is listed.

No, a Lightroom catalog cannot be on a networked drive, and can only be accessed by a single user at a time.

  • How do I rid Safari of constant pop-ups?

I have recently been plagued by something which has attached itself to Safari--annoying pop-ups, GoPhoto.it, and a little green thingy with an arrow inside of a backet.  Please help.  Safari 5.1.10, Mac Snow Leopard

From the Safari menu bar, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Remove the malicious "GoPhoto" extension. Do the equivalent in the Chrome browser, and follow these instructions to remove GoPhoto from Firefox, if applicable.

  • Flash player shows disabled or activeX enabled when neither is the case. Constant pop-ups.

I have a dual Pentium Compaq Presario SR5310F running Windows 8 and am besieged with pop-ups asking me to upgrade flash, video player, etc.

My guess is that you've contracted a malware infection.  I'd start with a reputable anti-malware/anti-virus scanner.  http://www.malwarebytes.org is free an well-respected, and there are plenty of commercial options available.

While I was in a website, I had a message to allow, block etc pop-ups but I think I may have mistakenly pressed 'allow'. I wish to change a pop-up allowability. Can it be changed back?

    # Click the orange Firefox button or, if the application menu is enabled, click '''Tools''' followed by '''Options'''
    # Click on the '''Content''' icon/category
    # Next to where it says ''Block popup windows ''click the '''Exceptions''' button
    # Select the site for which you wish to revoke the exception then click the '''Remove Site''' button
