I have 2 firefox menu icons, it tells me one is a ink file, what do I do with it?

On my menu for desktop I have 2 icons for Mozilla Firefox. I thought one might be a short cut or just a duplicate. I have been afraid to delete or uninstall one, but it has bother me for some time, which one I should use. They seem to be the same. However, today the lower icon said it was an ink file, and gave me the option to save the file or send it to, then it listed the applications. I don't know what to do with the file. Should I save it and not worry where to send it.

Are you sure you have a 2G iPod? See:
Identifying iPod models
A 2G can go to iOS 4.2.1 via iTunes directly if you have iTunes 10.X on your computer.
A 1G can go to 2.2 via iTunes amd 3.1.3 via the link proved already in this discussion.

  • Firefox menu icons in KDE

Can anyone help me with removing the icons from firefox menus. While in gnome firefox didn't have any icons in menus next to the text, but in kde it does. I would like to know is it possible to remove them? Thanks in advance.

    Ok, I found the problem.
In order to have Firefox offering you the default application to open a certain file, you need to install libgnome !
I removed bluefish some days ago with its dependencies and since then it stopped working.
libgnome depends on gnome-mime-data, gconf, gnome-vfs and libbonobo, but none of these are enough to make Firefox work correctly. It really needs libgnome.
Not sure if it would be a good idea to put these dependencies on Firefox. Probably not. Each one should decide if it's worth or not. Maybe some info would be useful, though.

  • I have Firefox 5.0.1, and a theme I want to download says that it works with Firefox 4.0b9pre - 7.0a1, but at the top it says that it is not available for my platform. What do I do?

I just downloaded Firefox 5.0.1, and one of the themes I want to download and try out says that it works with Firefox 4.0b9pre - 7.0a1. At the top, though, it says that the theme is not available for my platform. It has happened with some other themes as well, but I didn't check what versions they work with. I don't know what this means or what to do about it. The theme is at this link: https://addons.mozilla.org/z/en-US/firefox/addon/bloomind-ft-deepdark-2/

    It says:
<blockquote>"Bloomind FT DeepDark 2" is a theme that has been created to transform the look of Firefox 4 for <b>Windows</b> users. It has been specially designed for Seven, but rendering is relatively accurate on XP and Linux (<b>I can t test it on MAC</b>, but for those who would like to try it anyway on that platform, <u>you can force download and install it</u>).</blockquote>
So try to save that file via the right-click context menu.

  • I'm trying to download the latest version of firefox. I get a pop up window that asks me what to open it with. I've tried adobe reader 9, acrobate reader 5, and real player. None work

OK, I'll take you through what happens. When I click download firefox 4 I get a pop up window that asks "what should Firefox do with this file?"
    Below I have two choices:
    _Open with (choose)
    _Save File
So I go to choose and pick an application.
So I choose Acrobate Reader 5.0. Acrobate gives me a popup that says "Acrobat could not open firefox 4.0-4.dmg because it is either not a supported file type or because the fire has been corrupted....
So I try download again (I should point out that I am currently running Firefox 3.6.16) The popup that asks me to choose a file to open firefox 4.0.dmg pops up again.
So I choose Adobe Reader 9. Nothing happens. So I cancel.
So what application should I go to to open Firefox 4.0.dmg

  • My wife and I have 2 new iphone 4's but one current iTunes account.  How do we sync with one account?..or do we need to have 2 itunes accounts?

My wife and I recently purchased 2 new iphone 4's.  I have an itunes account with tones of songs.  How do I sync the phones with my itunes account?  Since there are 2 phones, do we need to open a second itunes account?  If so, is there anyway to transfer music from one account to another?

You can both share the same iTunes account for iTunes content, but you need separate Apple ID's to use iCloud, iMessage, FindMyPhone & FaceTime. The Apple ID's for iCloud, etc. MUST be verifiable email addresses. If you don't setup separate Apple ID's for this suff, you'll have a mess on your hands. • Way to hide context menu icons via userChrome.css (FF Nightly)?

Is there a Firefox tweak to completely hide context menu (right menu) icons?
    userChrome.css solutions are walcome.

Firefox doesn't have context menu icons. Any icons you have in the context menu are added by add-ons. This should hide them:
    <pre><nowiki>@namespace url(http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul);
/* The above line should appear only once in userChrome.css */
    #contentAreaContextMenu image,
    .textbox-contextmenu image,
    #placesContext image {
    visibility: hidden !important;
    }</nowiki></pre>

  • Cannot retreive tabs or firefox menu bar

I clicked on a program that wanted to add toolbars to my Internet profile. Once the program had completed installing all of the toolbars, (I thought it was going to be one toolbar) I could no longer access the firefox menue, icons, and open tabs.
Also, I went to add remove programs, and I still could not remove these addons.
Please let me know if I can change my profile back to the way it was.

Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #*'''Windows:'''
    #**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    #**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back to see if this helped you!

  • I have Firefox 4.0 Beta 6 on my system and Beta 9 was installed, now both are oon desktop neither show on Start menu and Add/Remove list only shows Beta 6 but will not remove it.

Had a problem yesterday and Google chrome replaced Firefox as my default browser without my knowledge. I removed Chrome from my system and can use Firefox. I have two icons for Firefox on my quick launch toolbar one says Beta6 the other Beta9 but both launch Beta 9 but my Add/Remove programs shows only Beta6 and will not remove it. It seems Beta9 is the only version on my system but was not updated in my Start menu.

If you updated from the beta 6 version to the beta 9 version then the beta 9 version has replaced the previous beta version. It can happen that the uninstall registry key of older versions isn't updated or removed and that seems to have happened in your case. So you have only the beta 9 version installed and an orphaned entry to uninstall the beta 6 version.
If you are comfortable in editing the registry then you can remove that entry.Otherwise it is better to leave it.<br />

  • Can't find the menu icon on my firefox or mozzila desktop. Where is it?

Need to turn off pop up blockers for some websites. Need to start with menu icon, can't find it, not on desktop.

Note that Firefox 24 doesn't have the "3-bar" Firefox menu button that came with the Australis user interface, but still have the orange Firefox menu button if the menu bar is hidden.
