I have 2 Iphones, registered under the same AppleID. Mine, and my mom's. I recently (today) did the software udate for her phone, and ever since-she receives every message i send to my girlfriend, and every response that my girlfriend sends to me. I read up on Imessage, and checked the settings on both phones. On each phone "imessage"was turned on, so i turned Imessage off. Will this solve the problem of my mom receiving every message that i send and receive? Also, if i turn Imessage back on, on my phone-will i still have privacy to text?

Why not create a second Apple ID? Wouldn't that solve the problem much more straightforwardly?

Hi everyone,I'm new here. I've been reading about all of the problems everyone has been having with their X-Fi's. I realise how everyone must feel that they spent ?XX or ?XXX getting a brand spanking new soundcard that claimed to be the best money could buy. I'm here to try and get this sorted for you. Let me explain. I'm a computer enthusiast. I, like a lot of you, have an awesome computer. However, i don't have an X-Fi (one is on the way to me though). I'm not here to show off my specs. I'm here to try and offer a solution. I've been thinking about this. And i thought, why don't we, as a community, make some modified drivers, or, some application that can read the BIOS chip on the X-Fi (i assume they have some sort of BIOS chip, like most GPU's). I don't have much experience in reading system data, but i do know about programming. Or perhaps some sort of system patch? The "Screech of death" and the "cracking and popping" seems to happen on a wide variety of system configurations, but does seem more prevalent on Asus boards. I have a theory that it occurs due to the FSB/HTT being too high. Perhaps someone could try this for me:?) Go into BIOS and change your HTT or FSB Multiplier down one step. So if you have set it at 5X, set it to 4X. Then, try and see if you can replicate the problem. If it reoccurs, then try lowering it one more just to be sure. If it doesn't reoccur, then we have one part of the problem solved. If it does, then we can remove that. Next, IRQ's. I realise this has been posted a lot around here. But, this is for those of you with some sort of Onboard audio (which are a lot of you i imagine). I've done a bit of research with my own system (Epox EP9NPAJ SLI motherboard, which is NF4 SLI Chipset) and i've discovered that the onboard audio, is sharing with the Primary?PCI IDE Controller. Now, even though IRQ Sharing is part of the PCI specification, has anyone thought of disabling onboard audio? Or completely disabling that IRQ? Now, if you don't have an FDD, you could potentially try assigning IRQ 6 to the X-Fi as IRQ 6 is a uni'versal IRQ that is used for the FDD. If that doesn't work, perhaps you could try the following:?) You need to disable your onboard LAN and all references to LAN and NVidia in your BIOS.2) In IRQ's, assign the NVidia Netbus IRQ to the X-Fi. Ususally, this is IRQ 22, but you should check this in Device manager in Windows (View ---> Resources by Type ---> Interrupt Request ---> Nvidia Network Bus Enumerator). Obviously, this means you lose networkability, but if it solved your problem, you can always buy a PCI network card. If not, then reassign the IRQ to the Nvidia Netbus to reenable networking. Next one, PCI Slot. Again, i know this has been mentioned a lot, but try changing?the PCI slot that the X-Fi is in. If it still causes problems, then try one or more of the steps above. Next, memory. I don't know if this has been mentioned or not, but it may help. Try this, go into your BIOS and loosen your memory timings. So, if you have memory timings of 3-3-3-5-T, try adjusting it to 3-3-3-5-2T. If this solves your problem, good for you! If not, then try changing it to 3-3-3-7-T or 3-3-3-7-2T. Again, if this solves your problem, well done! If not, readjust your timings to what they were before. You could also try using a lower memory divider. So if you have 200 divider, try 83, or even 66. Solved your problem? Nice! Not solved? Sorry. I realise that people are very stressed about the problems, but i would appreciate it if you didn't flame me. I am not here to interfere, i'm simply here to try and provide my knowledge to you as best i can (i'm currently studying for Network+, A+, Customer Support (ITSST: Information Technology Systems Support Technician) at college). I do have a background in Computers, and even though i'm only 7, i know about things like this. No, i don't work for Creative. I am not part of their team, neither support, technical or software. I just want to work towards a solution. Let me know if there are any problems, or if you have any suggestions or any case studies i could use. I have some win2k machines and 4 windows XP machines. I have eDirectory 8.5
and ZENworks 3.2 sp2 running on windows 2000 server. On win2k the policy
manager works ok but on windows XP i can't get user policy to work.
Users that have limited access have full access on windows XP
So does this update solve this problem.

However, I can't figure out how to change this on her iphone4. I have looked at all of the General settings but need guidance. When I use the phone to try to purchase songs from itunes, it reverts to the old appleID.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > store, scroll down and tap your ID)

Yes, you would sign out of iTunes & App Store: Settings>iTunes & App Store, click on the Apple ID, click on Sign Out. Then sign back on with the new Apple ID. Also, if you have an iCloud account with the other Apple ID, you would delete that iCloud account, and then sign on with your new ID: Settings>iCloud>Delete Account.

The iPhone's passcode lock feature is completely separate from another iPhone or iOS device.
All apps, all paid and free apps include DRM protection which is tied to the Apple ID that was used to download the apps. If some apps were downloaded with one Apple ID and then a new Apple ID is created, in order to download an app update that was installed with the original Apple ID requires using that Apple ID and password.

Hi, Processor 2.66 Ghz Intel core i7, memory 8Gb 1067 Mhz DDR3.
on shut down a White screen occur with a star flashing during more or less 25 seconds. before update to Lion, 3 or 4 seconds to shutdown. no more app installed or removed. it stills the same usage.
I will be greatful if you can help me.

We upgraded to Mavericks on two computers at work, and now Favorites from one computer show, while Favorites from the other don't. The same AppleID was used for the upgrade on both computers, but we have separate logins.

At work, we upgraded to Mavericks on two iMacs, using the same AppleID. Now, in Safari, the Favorites bar shows only my coworker's faves on both computers, and my Bookmarks are in the bookmark listing, also showing on both computers. How can we fix this, so that I only see my Favorites and Bookmarks and she only sees hers?

I hope it's okay that I post about my progress with this!
I restarted both computers and tested our Safari connection by deleting a couple of bookmarks on my computer. They did NOT delete from the other computer, so that problem seems to be resolved. I'm not sure what will happen if she signs back into iCloud, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Stop sharing an Apple ID. That is the cause.
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > You can be reached for messages at...

Thank you - that all makes sense. It is, indeed, exactly what I did when I upgraded.
I'm also writing this on the machine that crashed a few minutes ago (I posted the crash in another thread). I got back with a 'safe boot' - as I have done a few times before.
I've also de-installed little snitch (and then done a safe-boot & then re-boot ) since that seemed involved. I de-installed Adobe flash, since that seemed to be a problem - I then re-installed the later, apparently fixed, flash. The most recent crashes don't seeme to have a problem with flash any more.
I've posted the various ( generally different ) crashes. I also posted a summary of the similar lines that turn up in most of the crashes.
Unfortuantely, I'm actually trying to use the machine to meet some urgent deadlines and all this is not making it at all easy.
I had had great hopes for 10.7.2 - I thought that the crashes must be pretty common, so would have a common aetiology. There do seem to have been some fundamental changes to the file sytem and to the video interface (that seems to cause problems to brand new iMacs as well as to my 2009 iMac).

If you still have a backup from that point in time as part ofr your computer backup history, you could restore the backup folder, restore the phone from that backup and have the messages on the phone.
