I have 2 iPod touches for my kids, and I have an iPhone. Both iPods and the iPhone use the same apple id. When an app is downloaded to one of the iPods it automatically installs to the other as well. Why does this happen and how can I stop it?

You must have the automatic download feature of iCloud on the iPod. To turn this off, on the iPod you don't want the apps to automaticly download on, go to Settings-->Store. Under automatic downloads slide the sliders off for the things you don't want to auto download.

On the device you do not want the auto downloads to be installed on: Settings/iTunes & App Store. Deselect what you do not want to be automatically downloaded.

On the device that you don't want the apps to be downloaded on, go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Automatic Downloads. Once you turn that off, your problem will be fixed.

Your problem is that she used your icloud ID to connect to icloud and thus had all your data synced to her device. Contacts are not saved in a backup to icloud, since they are stored independently in the Contacts section of icloud. If someone deletes them, they are gone. If you had them on the PC would they be available in some backup you frequently make of the PC?

When we were charging the Ipod touch and once fully charged, we tried to unlock it and it does not respond. It is locked and no way to unlock it. Can anyone help and tell us what to do?

Make 3 different iCloud accounts and use ONLY for iMessage. That will permanently fix your issue.

Obviously our Ipads are synced and I don't know how to correct this. Any advice ?

If you both have the same email account, there's no setting on iPad you can use. When a message is deleted, it's deleted from the mail account server, which will happen on both devices.

I don't suppose it will be exactly the same on my ISP's webmail interface as Comcast's, but I've just checked the route I have to follow with my provider (Orange in France):
Log on to your email account in a web browser > Select Mail's Preferences > Select Forward my email to another mailbox.
If you don't have this, or a similar option, I'm afraid I'm stuck for other ideas .

Since it has always been very basic to backup your computer and all it's data, Apple provides no way for you to transfer music from your iPhone back to your computer. As you know, you can re-download all iTunes purchases, but music that you ripped yourself you'll have to just re-rip again.
You can try and find 3rd party applications that might help you. I'm sure you'll pay, however.
Let this be a very important lesson learned.
