I have 2 ipods. i want to get the music out of 1 and add it 2 my library so i can add that music into my other ipod. if i just click sync does that do that 4 me?

is that how that works?

It does not. In order to sync content to an iPod, it needs to be stored in your iTunes library first and you cannot sync content directly from iPod to another.
So what you'll need to do is copy the content from the one iPod to your iTunes library first.  Then set your other Nano up to sync this content to it.

  • I have the 3rd generation of the ipod touch and i want to get the IOS 4.3 upgrade and i have all the requirements but i cant download it. Please Help

I have the 3rd Generation of the Ipod Touch. I want to get the IOS 4.3 upgrade for my Ipod. I have all the requirements for it, but i dont know how to get the update. PLEASE HELP

Are you sure you have 3G iPod? If it is a 8 or 16 GB one it is a 2G iPod.  A 32GB could be either.  Identify yurs here:

    A 2g can only go to 4.2.1.
What version of iTunes is on your computer?
What happens when you try to update?

  • My 40gb can be played but Itunes says it is corrupt.  I want to get the music off the Ipod onto my new computer, old computer died which had all the data on it (crap on my behalf I know)  Anyone know how to do this?

My hard drive is corrupt even though I can listen to the music on the Ipod.  Itunes says it is corrupt so obviously cannot read it properly.  You can hear the disk reader resetting every few seconds preventing the data recovery.
We can see the track listings and playlists which we used for our wedding in 2005 and desperately want them back.
Sadly we lost the hard drive that had Itunes on it with all our music which we dont have a back up of.
Is there anyway it can be repaired and then we get the music off the Ipod and get it back on a new pc....and back it up of course?!!!

From the OP: "My old computer got a virus and when that happened all my music was lost. "
They don't have the music on their computer so they cannot transfer the iTunes folder, from the computer to their iPod and then to the new computer. And if they try to enable disk use on the iPod it will erase all the music that is on it. The method you cited is moving the files in a data format using the iPod as a flash drive. It doesn't work if they are in music format. That is why I suggested Yamipod.

  • TS4036 How do I access content that has been backed up to iCloud?  I no longer have an iphone, but want to access the music/pictures I've stored to the cloud.  When I logged into iCloud, there was no tab or option to view store content.  Please help.

Without an iPhone or iPod Touch to restore the backup to, you cannot access the camera roll photos stored in the iCloud backup.  Signing into the account on your computer and enabling photo stream will only allow you to access photo stream photos from the last 30 days, and any shared stream you were subscribed to.
You can redownload purchased music in iTunes on your computer as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519.

  • I don't understand!!!  I have 2 nanos & I want to share the music

I have a 2nd gen and a 3rd gen nano. I had my 2nd gen nano set up on iTunes and want to copy the music to my new 3rd gen nano. I followed some instructions on how to do it (I used method 3) and I created a new library. Now when I open my iTunes, I have nothing in it.
I haven't a clue what I'm doing any more. I'm afraid to do anything else, in case I lose the music that I already have on my iPod, but I had some stuff on my iTunes that I paid for and I don't want to lose.
    Can anyone help me?

Read my post above. It explains exactly what you need to do.
I've already created the new library and now there is nothing on my iTunes.
Correct. After you create a library, you need to put music in it.
But I suggest you do not do that.
Can I delete the new library and create the new playlist?
    Yes.
    Open the regular library by;
Start iTunes holding the Shift key.
    Select Choose existing library.
    Select My Documents/My Music/iTunes/iTunes library.itl.
This populated library will open from now on without using the Shift key.
Create a new playlist named 3G nano (or whatever) with the songs you want on the new nano.
Select the nano in iTunes. Click the Music tab.
    Select Sync music.
Select Selected playlists and tick the new playlist you just created.
Add/delete from this playlist to add/delete from the nano.
what should I click when I use the other nano to sync?
Do the same as above. Create a new playlist and sync that to the other nano.

  • Getting the most out of Aperture and FCP

I have been unable to find a thread answering my questions so I thought I'd post my own. I'll start off with a little background info. I do a lot of image processing in Raw with 10MP and 12MP images and would like to run Aperture on my future G5 flawlessly. Also, I will be editing in SD with Final Cut Pro and running Motion in SD. Basically, I would like to purchase a system that will allow me to get the most out of these two programs for what I want to do. I want to make sure I get what I need in all aspects, Ram, GHZ, and graphics card, and bus speed. I have read that some of the older like dual 2.5 GHZ machines are better than some of the dual cores because they have faster bus speeds. Now I am not sure if bus speed is a concern with what I want to do hence my questioning. As you can see I currently have a 1ghz G4 PowerBook and to make things simple it is drowning with the work I am trying to do. Running Aperture and apple Motion is not even possible on my current machine.
    Thanks!

First, the current Dualcore 2.3 G5 has a 1.15ghz front side bus speed. However a quick look back to previous models shows dual 2.5 and 2.7ghz machines with like 1.25ghz front side bus. So my first question is like a dual 2.5 or 2.7ghz where I should be looking? I think so... Like personally is the dual 2.7ghz you have all you need or could you see a faster machine being better? When it comes to editing Raw in Aperture I'll come in from a sports event with like 100's of images on my plate and I will first knock out the bad ones and then end up with like 100-200 images to do light adjustments that are good enough for proofs. Basically I am looking for what is the "sweet spot" as you mentioned for a G5. Like I am not sure if a Quad 2.5ghz is necessary and I think for what I'm doing it is overkill. You mentioned 4GB is the sweet spot, thank exactly the kind of information I was looking for. And lastly I want a solid graphics card. If I were to buy a new G5 I would be looking at like the 7800 with 256MB. I'm curious to how this compares to like the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro for example. I would assume that newer the better...
    Thanks

  • If someone gave me a loaded shuffle and i want to download the music into my itunes it won't let me

I received a shuffle as a gift a few years ago from my Nephew.  He loaded it with music but now I want to switch it up with my iphone music but he registered it with his email address.  How do I add the music that he added from his computer?

Yes, because you don't own the music.

  • Got new computer want to get the music i bought how i do that

i want to get all the stuff i bought how do i do taht from a different computer

You put it there.  It will not magically appear.
You buy one and only one download.  it is your responsibility to move/copy/backup your music.
Copy your music from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.

  • OMG...I JUST WANT TO GET THE MUSIC!!!!

I just want to add what's on my daughter's ipod to the iTunes library, so that she won't lose her music. She's 8, and has some of her favorite Disney tunes on it. I bought the darned thing for her last two years ago, never registered it (cause I forgot), AppleCare wants $30; to boot: she lost the usb cord, so for a whole year we couldn't even charge it up.
Now she just got a new usb cord for her 8th birthday, and I would SIMPLY like to transfer her music into the library.  I have a 1st gen Nano, so my library is already up.  I just figured out how to see what's on her ipod (thanks to this wonderful forum), figured out what "home sharing" is/does (again, thanks to this forum), but NOW I NEED HELP.  Her music interests is starting to grow and I'd like to help her by keeping her faves and adding some new ones.
I've tried drag-n-drop, copy/paste, created a new folder, tried creating a new playlist...I'm outta options.
Here's what I want to do:
    1. transfer her music from her ipod into iTunes library
    2. without erasing it (and would like to continue adding to it)
    3. without syncing it/removing/replacing what's on her device
    4. make a playlist/folder for her so that we can keep/continue to build her "library"
    5. do it quickly, easily and painlessly
    PLEASE HELP!
    A frustrated Mom.
    TaraB.
PS:  I hope that all made sense. I'm just so frustrated, that I could spit!

Stronger security for on line purchases is the order of the day. Too many accounts have been hacked in on line shopping. Apple has beefed up security for all account holders for the protection of everyone's pon line accounts. Take the time to configure the required new security level or you won't be able to make any more purchases or updates. Apple does not take account security as something to bother folks, but as something to protect their account.

  • I need to get the data out of OnAcquiredDataCwcounter1 and print it out on text-control-fieldl

My problem is to read the data Measurement and Overflow from a OnAcquiredDataCwcounter. I want to read them and write it in a text field. Hope you can help me, I'm making my diplom and I really need your help.
    Thank you

The "Measurement" argument of the OnAcquiredDataCWCounter event handler is a pointer to a VARIANT. To access the contents of a VARIANT and place it in a Microsoft Edit Box you can do something similar to the following inside of the event handler:
void CDAQSTCBufferedDlg:nAcquiredDataCwcounter1(VARIANT FAR* Measurement, BOOL Overflow)
    CString mstr;
    mstr.Format ("%lf", Measurement->dblVal);
    m_edit.SetWindowText (mstr);
I have attached a simple project that illustrates basically the same concept. It has a CWSlide control and an MS Edit Box on the dialog. When the CWSlide's pointer changes position, I update the Edit Box with the new value of the pointer's position. (Make sure to rebuild the entire project to execute it).

  • I found an old iPod classic of mine.  It's not synced to my new MacBook Pro.  How can I get the music and photos off of it and on to my new computer?  When I plug it in to my new computer it wants to erase what is on it and transfer from my new computer.

I found an old iPod classic of mine that is synced to a computer that is long gone.  I want to get the music and photos from this old iPod onto my new computer.  Every time I hook the iPod up to my new computer it wants to delete what is on the iPod and replace with the contents of the iTunes that is currently on the new computer.  I don't want to do that.  I want to keep what is on the old iPod and transfer it to iTunes.  Any help?  Thanks!
