Copy the entire /My Music/iTunes/ folder from your PC to /Music/ on your Mac.

The same thing happened with me. I was updating my husband's iPhone 3GS to iOS 5, and it lost his calendars and contacts. When I did the update, I let it do a sync and backup first.
Since that time, I tried to do a restore, and it only saw a back up from October, 2010. Where are backups stored? Are they invisible files on the mac? His laptop is a 13" macbook running 10.6.8.

Originally my husband was signed into our mac with his Apple ID, this made his contacts sync to the computer. Today I signed in with my Apple ID and all my contacts have been synced to the computer. In the contacts application on the computer it shows the contacts as both of our contacts. iCloud has then sync all these contacts to my iPhone and iPad and I don't know how to revert it to my original contacts list. Please help!

If they're merged, they're merged. iCloud could do with a rollback facility. It's all too easy to bugger up iCloud (like deleting events or even a whole calendar) and you can't go back.
The real question is, why did it happen and how can you stop it happening in future. Are you syncing contacts on iTunes as well as on iCloud? Maybe this could cause it.

Did anyone else have numerous events merged into one called "From MobileMe" after MM ended?

I just recently noticed that on June 30th, when I was prompted by iPhoto to import the old MobileMe albums after MM ended, that many of my events were merged into one event called "From MobileMe". The correlation was that they were all MM albums that I had uploaded directly from the event itself to create the album.
It also caused some other strange behavior with blank thumbnails for one set of photos, yet they appeared in their original event as well. I am so dissappointed. Apple only had a year to figure this out.
Has anyone else had this problem, and how have you handled it. The only two options I'm seeing are restore from Time Machine (but then lose everything I've imported and organized since July 1st, or just going through, reorganizing them, and hoping that none were accidentally deleted. So annoying.

The Apple Genius helped me sort out the problem: one bad FW800 cable!
All my switiching things around, with phone support from multiple Apple Advisors, trying to figure it out and that one cable always managed to work its way into the mix! Only when the Genius and I had multiple Thunderbolt-enabled devices to experiment with were we able to isolate the bad cable. Odd how the problem seemed to mimick the random-unmounting issue others have been experiencing.
My 2012 iMac itself is in perfect working order! As are the G-Drives. Best possible outcome for me!

CS 3 worked yesterday - got software updates - now all parts merged into 1 uneditable image

Hi. I worked on a logo yesterday. This a.m. I got software updates and did it automatically. I don't know what the updates were but I just did it and then the computer restarted. Now all my parts have been merged into one un-editable un-workable image. They are not separate any more. They are not grouped, not compounded, not locked. I do not know what happened. Any ideas? Thank you for any help you can give.

You want to always use iPhoto with a default referenced library (the preference to copy imported item to the iPhoto library is checked) ad then delete the source photos

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
