You want all contacts on each device deleted, or you have more than 200 contacts on each device and want only 200 out of XXX contacts deleted?
If the latter, delete the contacts from the address book app on your computer that is supported for syncing contacts followed by a sync with each device.

On the old phone go into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Are there any email accounts listed here? Such as Google, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc?
If so, tap on each of them and check the 'Contacts' option. If it is turned on, this means that contact syncing is enabled for that account and that your contacts may already be synced to that mail account.
Also check Settings > iCloud and look for the 'Contacts' option. Is it enabled? If so, then it is possible that some contacts could be synced to your iCloud account as well. You can check to see which contacts are in which account by going to the Contacts app on your old phone and pressing the 'Groups' button in the top left corner. You may see several groups here. Uncheck all groups and then check each group one at a time to check and see how many contacts are synced to each account. You may need to add the same mail accounts to your new phone and enable contact syncing to have the contacts from the mail servers sync down to the new phone.

First, be sure that the contacts on the devices are in the "icloud" section and not the "On my iPhone" (or iPad) section of the contact listings/groups.
Missing contacts:
Here's a test to perform - using a computer's browser, log into icloud.com and go to the Contacts page. If most of them are gone, then they are gone.
If they show up, then the problem is that your device is not connecting to the Contacts database on icloud.
On the device, go to Settings>icloud. Be sure icloud is on and using the right ID. If not, scroll to the bottom of the page and tap Delete Account - this just disconnects the device from that account, no data is lost. Then log back in using the correct ID. ALSO - be sure the Contacts are turned on (on the same screen).
Note: Contacts are not part of an iCloud backup, since they are part of contacts database on iCloud's servers. So performing a restore will not help.

Then they have been deleted. There are many reasons for this. One possibility is that someone else is using the same iCloud account (family member, etc.) and they deleted contacts, thinking they did want them on THEIR device. How to get them back? Unfortunately, an iCloud backup does not include any of the sync databases, like contacts, notes, calendars, reminders, etc. because the data is already stored in these databases. Your only hope for restoring the data is if you had that data on a computer (like a mac's Contacts, Calendars, etc.) and that data was backed up using whatever backup software you typically use (e.g. Time Machine on a mac). Just restore the data files back to the computer. Other than that, I'm afraid the data is gone.

I just carefully chose 30-35 apps to get rid of via iTunes, hoping it would sync to my devices, only to find I have to repeat the process on my iPad, take notes, then repeat it on my iPhone. I understand that you would like to delete the Apps. I know how eager you are to get the required information and I will be happy to assist you.
You can remove individual songs, audiobooks, and videos from your iPod, iPhone, or iPad. Removing an item from your device doesn't delete it from your iTunes library.
To remove items from a device other than an iPod shuffle, first make sure that iTunes is set up to manually manage items.
1. Connect your iPod, iPhone, or iPad to your computer.
2. When the iPod, iPhone, or iPad icon appears in iTunes, select it.
3. Unless your device is an iPod shuffle, click the Summary tab and make sure "Manually manage music and videos" or "Manually manage music" is selected.
4. If the disclosure triangle to the left of your iPod, iPhone, or iPad (below Devices) is closed, click the triangle so that you can see the device's contents.
5. Select the item you want to delete and press the Delete key.
This was not helpful in any way and I am still unable to delete apps on my devices in a global, iTunes based way. Each device still requires its own independent process.

Match was off. I made all of the changes and then went through the "Turn on iTunes Match" option. I now have deleted some tracks, edited the Metadata in CDDA, and then added it back. This worked fine, but it is not a good solution.
I just tried making some edits and use the "Update iTunes Match" and that seemed to work. It looks like the real answer is that Match must be up and operational, then you can make changes and run the Update to incorporate the changes. However, if Match has a problem then Signing Out and back in to your store account and going through the process of Turning On Match (were you get the questions, "Add this Computer to Match" will overwrite any changes.
Since this relies on the stability of iTunes, I won't be making a lot of changes between updates.

The iphone and ipad must be connected to the same icloud account. Are you by chance using different IDs to connect from each device?

You don't really sync photos from the devices to the Mac, you import them to an app; iPhoto, Aperture or Image Capture. During that process you are given an option to erase the photos from the device. Is this not the manner that you used?

You can't, all content that you download from the store is tied to the account that downloaded it, you can't merge accounts nor transfer content between them.

Are you talking about your lock screen passcode? If so, go into Settings>General>Passcode Lock, and Change one of your Passcodes to match the other.

If you don't have your old computer, but you made regular backups of it, restore the most recent backup using the backup software that you used to make the backup. You will have to read the instructions for it.
If you don't have your old computer and you did not back it up regularly see: Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive

Why do my iPhone and iPad decide, one day (and its always when you're traveling; the little bastards), to remove music from their libraries?
I'm looking at my iPad right now and it barely has a single album worth of songs. I know I can get the songs back from the cloud, but how do I get it so that I don't have to do that all the time?
My Mac keeps its music, so why do iPhones and iPads keeps removing them? I'm not doing anything special, just the "sync ALL my stuff to iOS" usual.

iTunes match will stream them like pandora (just for example). If you toggle it on and off should help also from itunes on your computer with your music select store then update itunes match as well just to make sure your items are still on the cloud and matched. Once your music is showing on your device and you are connected to the internet should be able to play back with no issues, also you will see little clouds next to the songs that you can tap to download them to the device directly to play when you are off line or not connected to the internet.

I believe because you migrated from a Nokia to an iPhone you need to register the Bn phone number with your Apple ID so it can be used for iMessage. The Pn number seems to be the only one registered

I have performed all the relevant actions required before 5 May to conform with Apple instructions. I have lost my calendar on my MacBook although all is still OK on my iPhone and iPad. I have tried various ways to restore the data including going to MobileMe but I have been unsuccessful. I have tried to merge the information from my iPhone but this did not work either. My Contacts and mail are all OK. Coincidentally I am also unable to access my external hard drive which is working in itself (it is warm and whirrs when activated) but my back ups are failing. Any ideas out there?
