I have 2monitors, Firefox reopens windows on wrong monitor when i exit private view

There are much of firefox windows on every screen.

It's a bug. It happened to me, and to many others. You can search the discussions for "external monitor mirror display projector" and see some of the posts. I haven't seen any work-around yet.
Go to Apple's bug report page and add your input. Maybe eventually it will get repaired.

  • Everytime i go 'full screen' with a video, a red F pops up in the bottom toolbar (by windows flag) then dissapears when I exit...?

I was watching a YouTube video and as I pressed the button to go full screen I saw a square pop up in the bottom taskbar, like where the internet explorer and spotify icons are at the bottom of my screen, by the Windows start button. When I exited the video it dissapeared, so it was only up when i was full screen, it was never up there long enough for me to click on it. It was all red except for an italic f, which was white. After I watched a couple more videos, an actual pop up...popped up and said it had a X and said that windows had some kind of run time issue. I x-ed out of that, did'nt press OK.
I had read some things about the McAffee Security Scan Plus (which had installed with my adobe, just reinstalled it today....actually just got firefox today too-google chrome had not been working right for a while) and I decided to un-install that and it didn't stop the problem. I am wondering if this is something I should worry about? I'm not sure what it is and it has never appeared before. Please help!

    Hello,
Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.

  • I have latest firefox in windows 7 64 bit I can not open .eml extensions. what is wrong

I get e mail with .eml extensions. I can not open them yet my wifes same firefox can open them. what is up

-> Save the '''.eml''' file to your desktop and Open it with '''Outlook Express''' or Microsoft Outlook. It will open as a New Email, and this time you should see the contents.
-> Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Opera browsers can Read and View an EML file by changing the extension to '''.MHT''' and then opening it. Just change the extention of email file from '''EML''' to '''MHT''' and then open it under the Web Browser.
Check and tell if its working.

  • FileSelectPopup window on wrong monitor

    Hello all,
My application is used for display testing and calibration purposes. On the PC where my application is running, the second DVI output is attached to the display to be tested. The second display is driven by enabeling the "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor" option in the Display Properties window.
Problem: at some systems, popup windows, like a FileSelectPopup window appear on the second monitor. Since this display is not always visible to the operator, it looks like the application hangs and has to be terminated the hard way (Ctrl-Alt-Del).
How can I make sure that popup windows ALWAYS appear on the monitor where my application is running?
    Thanks,
    Wim

    Rich,
I'm not entirely sure what your current problem is, so I'll explain the current behavior in 2010 and earlier, and then hopefully give you some tips. In 2010 and earlier when you launch a FileSelectPopup the location and current monitor of the dialog is stored in the registry by Windows. Windows handles this positioning for a certain number of recently launched applications. As long as that information is stored in the registry the file/directory popups will appear in the last location and monitor that you dragged them to, regardless of what monitor is actually launching them. This seems to be the problem you're running into. Unfortunately CVI has no control over where this dialog will appear as it's a dialog that Windows owns.
If you've tried the CVI 2012 beta you'd have seen that the behavior has changed. Now what happens is that when File/Directory Popups are launched they will always appear on the monitor of the panel that launched them. If you drag the popup to a new location, Windows will remember that location and continue to display the popup in that location, so long as the dialog is always launched from the same panel and that panel has not moved. If you move the panel which is calling the popup, then the next time the popup is displayed it will appear on the monitor of the panel that launched it. This should fix the issue you are having.
Unfortunately there's no good workaround for this in CVI 2010 or earlier because CVI doesn't technically "own" those dialogs. I looked into whether you could just delete the settings from the registry, but Windows doesn't make that easy.  Those values are stored on my machine under:
    [HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-4170831575-233351449-3708798867-15220\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\UserAssist\{CEBFF5CD-ACE2-4F4F-9178-9926F41749EA}\Count]
Every individual process name has it's own entry so theoretically, you could search for the name of your executable and delete that key, but it seems that Windows scrambles the names using a ROT13. My guess is that they're doing this so that users don't edit these entries themselves, and bad things might occur if you try.
I'm sorry we don't have a better solution for you currently, but at least the problem has already been fixed going forward.

  • I have set Firefox to show my home page when I open it, but it is opening my previous page, how do I fix this

After closing Firefox and reopening it, it does not open my home page, but opens the page I was previously viewing. Options are set to open my home page, how do I fix this?

  • Others query the absence of the refresh button and that people have suggested dragging the stop, etc button from the right, but I don't have this button nor does it come up when I search under Views/ Toolsbars/Customise. How do I get a refresh button ?

Can't add much to the question

Firefox 4 later use a combined Stop/Reload/Go button that is positioned at the right end of the location bar.<br />
During the page load process it shows as a Stop button and after the loading has finished the button is changed to a Reload button.<br />
If you type in the location bar then that button becomes a Go button.<br />
Middle-click the Reload button to duplicate the current tab to a new tab.
To move the Stop and Reload buttons to their position to the left of the location bar you can use these steps:
    * Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
    * Drag the Reload and Stop buttons to their previous position to the left of the location bar.
    * Set the order to "Reload - Stop" to get a combined "Reload/Stop" button.
    * Set the order to "Stop - Reload" or separate them otherwise to get two distinct buttons.

  • Directory search returns wrong results when you modify the view

    Hello,
I have a custom list used a staff directory.  This is SharePoint 2013.  I am using a search box where users can type in names to find people.
When I add or remove a record in the list or modify the view and then I search for my name, all search results appear.  It once just returned 1 record for my name, but now it returns all 100 records in the list.
    How can I fix this?
    Thanks,

    Hi Paul,
Did you search in the SharePoint list or in SharePoint search center?
Could you provide more details about how you created the custom list?
Please try to enable Server Render as editing the page->Edit Web Part-> Miscellaneous, compare the result.
Please operate in other lists and in other site collections and test whether this issue occurs.
Please start a full crawl in Central Administration -> Manage service application -> Search service application -> Content Sources and test whether this issue occurs.
Could you check if it exists error in ULS log after you failed to search in the SharePoint list.

  • How do I stop Firefox from claiming to have sessionrestore errors or opening the wrong session items and/or remember the wrong window size and/or position.

Since automatically updating to version 25 Firefox is randomly opening recent tabs and windows from the browsing history, and/or randomly positioning the browser window from history.
Currently using Firefox 25.0.1 on Windows Vista and Windows 7. Problems started immediately after automatic updates to 25.0.0. Problems are most noticeable on the Vista box because it has so much screen geography (the Windows 7 box is a laptop).
    Problems include:
Firefox may open the correct tabs into a properly sized and positioned window, without problem. (Not a problem, included for completeness since it does, occasionally, work without error).
Firefox open a single empty tab (about:blank, my Home page). (Listed as a problem because Firefox simply forgot the tab which was open.)
Firefox may claim it cannot open the correct tabs and pop up about:sessionrestore. Proceeding will open all tabs (usually only one or two for me). This gives the impression Firefox did not actually have a problem. But, then, often, the tab Firefox is having problems restoring is about:blank so I should hope there was no problem!
Firefox may open randomly selected recent browsing items, without other problems. This gives the impression that Firefox does not properly record recent history for about:sessionrestore. Checking History appears correct; Firefox simply reached back hours, or days, or even weeks, and restored a random session from long ago.
Any of the above may occur, but the window position and/or size will be randomly selected from another recent history item. This is most noticeable when the position is on the wrong monitor and can be annoying since Firefox simply "disappears" if (as it often is for me) that other monitor is disconnected or powered off.

If you use cleanup software like CCleaner then check the settings for the Firefox application.<br />
Also make sure that your anti-virus software doesn't mess with files in the Firefox profile folder.

You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox profile folder that store session data.
Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox profile folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost and you will have to recreate them (make a note or bookmark them if possible).

  • Firefox has suddenly gone wrong. I was successfully running both Firefox and Internet Explorer 8 on Windows 7. I auto-accept upgrades including the most recent Firefox upgrade and the suggested upgrade to Adobe Flash 10.1. But after this, Firefox stopped

Firefox has suddenly gone wrong. I was successfully running both Firefox and Internet Explorer 8 on Windows 7. My laptop is new and has plenty of RAM and HDD. I auto-accept upgrades including the most recent Firefox upgrade and the suggested upgrade to Adobe Flash 10.1. But after this, Firefox stopped working and does not work when I re-load Firefox 3.6. Also IE8 now works very slowly and does not locate major websites like Microsoft without a 'can't find the website message' and having to pressing Return a second time. When I do get to the Mozilla website and click on the button to try to download Firefox 3.6.6, I get this message "Oops! Internet Explorer could not find mozilla3.snt.utwente.nl". Can you help with what has gone wrong? As it stands, I can't use Firefox at all. Note: because Firefox did not work after the upgrade, I've downloaded the IE8 version of the Adobe Flash 10.1. What I really want is to be able to use both Firefox and IE8. But is this possible if they use different versions of Adobe Flash?

I have been having the same problem as the original poster. After upgrading to Ffx 3.6.6, the program asks you to upgrade to Flash Player Plugin 10.1. I download and installed 10.1 only to find videos weren't loading.
In my case, the problem is the previous installation of Flash Player (9.0.47) was somehow messing things up. To fix this, because I already had Flash plugin 10.1 installed I had to uninstall 10.1 using the uninstaller from adobe and then manually remove any files related the old flash player plugin 9.0.47
Here is a run-down of my process:
    0. To check if you have a previous installation of the Flash Plugin lurking around, in Firefox go to Tools -> Add-ons -> Plugins (tab). At this point you may seen both Flash plugins.
    1. Proceed to uninstall Flash Plugin 10.1. Adobe provides an uninstaller here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
( you have to make sure you have nothing running when you execute the installer).
    2. On my Mac (sorry I don't know what it is in Windows) I searched the hard drive for any files/folders with "Shockwave". I found a folder called "Shockwave 10". It wasn't removed by Adobe's uninstaller. For safety I deleted it and then emptied the trash.
    3. I then went to My HD -> Library -> Internet Plugins.
Remove the file and folder named "Flash player.old"
    4. Restarted; ran the Adobe Flash Player 10.1 installer. Restarted again.
    5. Opened up ffx and double checked the plugins list (see step 1). Version 10.1 is installed and available. Went to problem sites to test it out and Success!
    Hope this helps.

  • All of the App Tabs you have set when you close Firefox will open as App Tabs when you start Firefox again. This is not working, windows XP system. Bug or fix?

Just installed v5 of Firefox over v4.1 to XP system, 2Gb memory. Reinstalled 2Java updates, Silverlight and adobe reader as recommended in post firefox installation window. Rebooted and tried to make the new AppTabs work to no avail.
I"m not sure what else you need. The new AppTabs are not working. When Firefox is closed, AppTabs do not reappear when it is reopened later. They were installed by right-click on open tab as instructed on your upgrade website. Tabs were for yMail, gMail, and iGoogle. I have not tried to pin any other apps or sites. Is there anything I can do to make this work, or is this a bug? Thanks for the assist. mikeS

  • Why won't firefox allow me to have more than one window open at a time?

Firefox will only open one window regardless of how I attempt to open another window. How is the remedied?
I updated to firefox 7.0 after this occurred but has not helped.
I have looked through the options and cannot find any options that will help.

Similar questions have been posted several times during the past year, but no one has posted back to confirm the cause of the problem. The most likely culprit is an add-on (or, if you have multiple displays, the window opening off-screen).
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)

  • List view file size is wrong until I reopen window

    Hi,
Often, if not all the time, Finder windows will a) not show the number if items in the folder and b) the file size for newly added items, since the window was opened, will be wrong. Example: I convert .mov files to .dv. When the converter (USBVision Exporter) finishes, I'll look at the file in that window. It will have a size of maybe 4k or so. After I close that window and reopen it, the file size will be correct, hundreds of mb or a gb or so. Just waiting for the Finder to show the correct size is futile. I have to close the window and reopen it for the Finder to show the correct size. If the window is not open, often if not all the time, I'll need to open it, close it and reopen it again to get the correct file size to show.
Actually, lately to get the correct file size to show I may have to select that file and then the Finder will update it's size. Reopening the window does nothing however many times I reopen it. That ain't right... It should show the correct size whenever the window is open.
Why does this happen? (The Finder not showing the number of items is not necessarily coincidental to this but is a similar problem.) This has happened pre-10.4.6 but I am not sure how far back, maybe since I bought the machine, 11/05 (10.4.4?).
    Thank you.

Annoying isn't it? Sometimes I have to relaunch Finder to get it to update. Send Apple Feedback to let them know just how annoying it is:
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/feedback/
At least you and I can actually see the files that were added--lots of people don't even get that much, especially if they're dealing with a Network folder.
Over at ars technica they have a mantra: Fix the Freakin' Finder!

I am on windows 7 and I upgraded to the newest verison of firefox and now it will not open. I have removed firefox completely and uploaded it again and that did not work. I then made sure it could get through my firewall and that did not work. So my latest attempt I removed firefox 10 again and uploaded the beta version hoping that would do it and once again nothing. It will not open at all. Please help - is there a live chat or a number to talk to someone at Firefox?

I think when uninstalling you may also have to choose (tick) to delete the preferences and other personal data like the bookmarks, stored passwords etc. to erase completely. If you are installing afresh, please try right-clicking on the file and '''Run as administrator''' to install. And when uninstalling, please also make sure choose to delete all data and also manually delete any '''Mozilla''', '''Mozilla Firefox''' or '''Firefox''' from %appdata%, %localappdata% and %programfiles%. You can open a location by typing for eg. %appdata% in the '''Run''' box (Windows key + R). You may also have to check the '''VirtualStore''' folder in %localappdata%. Files in the VirtualStore can be problematic. I think a clean installation may help.
