I have 3 drivers that need updating wondering if I should update.

I still have vista and have never added this driver updates listed below. Would adding them now cause problems to my laptop. I seems to be running hard and a recent scan from microsoft mentioned that my hard drive was unstable. I don't want to take a chance and cause my pc to crash. Thank you.

Your bigger problem is the "unstable" hard drive. That must be addressed before you do anything else. Can you tell us the exact meassage? You should run the hard drive test in the BIOS, not the microsoft test.

I have apps that needs to be updated that shows my old account. How do I delete this info without losing my purchases?

iTunes purchases cannot be transferred between accounts. If you no longer wish to use the old account at all, you should delete those apps and repurchase them with the new account.
On the other hand, you could also (and should have before creating a new account - contact iTunes support to deal with account security: https://getsupport.apple.com/Issues.action

My advice is to stick with Firefox 3.6.x for a while yet, it is still supported.
Otherwise, see the Zotero website for advice about their program and updating to Firefox 5.0 (or 6.0 when it is released in 3 weeks).

I have posted this annoying Robles to bugreport.apple.com. Hope I can get locution (although Apple normally will not respond):
On a software name Appfresh, it alerted me to update my MBPr 15 inches running latest OSX 10.8.2, with Chinese Word List Update 1.2. When I clicked on Software Pdate, app Store return No update available.
My system have Chinese Word List Update 1.0 installed, and on October 5, 2012, Chinese Word List Update 1.1 was released by Apple, as alerted through AppFresh. However, this update never get updated on m system. I have to manually download chinesewordlistupdate.pkg from reviews.cnet.com/macfixit and install it manually. By doing so, I have Chinese Word List Update 1.1 on my system.
The same problem occurred again today on November 5, 2012, where Chinese Word List Update is released by Apple. again, it fail to update from Software Update menu.
    Can you please:
    1. Explain why this problem occurred. This is so annoying.
    2. Advise me how can I get this Chinese Word List Date to update to version 1.2. Can you please send me the chinesewordlistupdate.pkg for version 1,2 so that I can manually install it on my system?
    3. How can I prevent similar problem with he subsequent version?
Why Apple don't make this update standard as other update?
Support please. Thank for response in advance

I guess I'll have to buy a MAC then. I was hoping to avoid that as I've always had PC.

  • Does anyone have drivers that will enable a Tascam US-144 (old model) to work with the latest version of Lion?

Hi, does anyone have drivers that will enable a Tascam US-144 (old model) to work with the latest version of Lion? The drivers available on the manufacturer's download site are for a newer model and were not designed specifically to work with Lion. Does anyone have a tried and tested fix for this? Thank you.

Most likely you have Office 2004 which are PPC-only applications and will not work in Lion. Upgrade to Office 2011. Other alternatives are:
Apple's iWork suite (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.)
Open Office (Office 2007-like suite compatible with OS X.)
    NeoOffice (similar to Open Office.)
LibreOffice (a new direction for the Open Office suite.)

  • My iPad shows that I have apps that need updated but apps do not update.

My App Store shows I have apps needing updated but nothing is there to update. I have signed out, shutdown & restarted but still nothing. This worked last time, but now same issue again.

Many people are having this problem for the last couple of days. This is a problem that Apple has to fix. If you look around the forum, you will see many, many discusssions about this and they have been going on for a few days.
According to Fly150 in another discussion, this is a workaround - for the time being.
If you want to update the Apps while waiting for Apple to fix Updates:
    1. Go to App Store
    2. Select Purchased
    3. Select All
    4. Scroll down to find the Apps showing update
    5. Select update on the Apps
This should update the Apps and get rid of the update count in App Store.

  • I have apps that need to be updated, but the only way I can do it is with my computer

I am in Afghanistan, the free wifi spot is too slow or the files are too big to update on my iphone4s. I can connect to the internet and sync my phone without any issues. I can see all my apps with itunes, but there is no place or button that i have seen that says to update my apps. the only option it gives me is to remove the app, which I obviously don't want to do.
How do I get the app updates with my computer without dumping the apps?

On your computer, iTunes...left sidebar...if not visible, go to view, show sidebar...click the "Apps" tab under library, then updates, right-click the app/apps you want to update, then update. Or, update all if you like. Then, sync your phone.

  • I have updated my iphone 4 with IOS 7 and for some reason there is no sound coming in my iphone anymore. I'm not quite sure if its a glitch or something. But if you all could just help me out that would be wonderful. How should i fix my sound in iphone 4?

Please help me out!! I actually need the sound going on ASAP because I have to do some of my work on my iphone. It would be nice if you could all help me.

Hi, thanks for the suggestion. I have tried as you suggested, and when opening the "purchased" apps some have the icloud logo next to them, but I only have "OPEN" against "Find My iPhone". When opening it up, it goes through the same routine; needs to be updated before proceeding, and wouldn't update because I don't have IOS8.
Anything else I could try, or am I doomed!
All of your help is much appreciated, thanks

  • Why does the App Store keep telling me I have apps that need updating?

My iPhone keeps displaying the little notification that I need to update 1 or multiple apps even when I don't. It happens all the time and it's just a quirky thing. Are there any fixes for this?

  • I find I have software that needs 10.5, how should I upgrade?

10.5 is needed for many new iApp based devices, yet Apple no longer offers it on their web based store.  For people who have compatible computers they need to consider the following:
    1. iTunes latest version that works on 10.4.11 is 9.2.1, available here: http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1056
    2. Boot Camp only works on Intel Macs, not PowerPC G4 nor G5 Macs.
    3. Classic does not operate in 10.5.  This user tip does show what Macs allow dual booting of 9 and 10.5:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-1757
Otherwise you'll need to keep 10.4.11 or earlier to allow Classic compatibility either on an erase and reinstalled 10.4 partition, as described in the tip, and
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61301
or an external Firewire hard drive.  If you have an Intel Mac, this does not matter since it doesn't have any 9 compatibility at all.
    4. Apple may offer the retail version of 10.5 through its phone mail order, but not show it on their website.  Note this is the only version of 10.5 that will run on any Mac that shipped new prior to October 26, 2007.  System specific discs rarely if ever work on Macs that aren't the same vintage or model they were initially designed for.  And Up to Date discs were only available for Macs that were new October 8, 2007 to October 26, 2007.
    5. Macs need 512MB of RAM, a G4 processor with 867 Mhz (dual 800 Mhz doesn't count, and upgraded processors only count if the processor seller supports it), and a minimum of 9 GB of free hard disk space.  Arbitrarily an additional 15% free hard disk space has been found in addition to Apple's specs to suffice for fast smooth installations of Mac OS X.  I.e. 100 GB hard drive would have at least 24 GB free before their 10.5 installations are smooth.
    6. All upgrades necessitate backing up your data at least twice, checking for software and hardware compatibility, and shutting down the Mac, and disconnecting all but display, Apple USB keyboard/mouse (if desktop), before rebooting and installing the update.
    7. If your Mac is Intel, upgrading to 10.6 (Snow Leopard) directly is recommended, and if you have a Core2Duo or Xeon Mac, upgrading to 10.6, then 10.6.6 or later to get Lion (10.7) installed is recommended if you have software which supports it. Contrary to popular belief 10.5 is not needed as an in between installation to apply 10.6.  But 10.6.6, 10.6.7, or 10.6.8 presently are a minimum for installing 10.7.  10.7 no longer supports Rosetta though. So be prepared if you are in the market for it.  Snow Leopard requires 5 GB of hard disk space and 1 GB of RAM.  Lion requires 7 GB of hard disk space and 2 GB of RAM.  The same arbitrary 15% as mentioned in #5 is highly recommended for free hard disk space that is additional.  Be sure to inquire in the Communities before updating anything to find out about any additional pitfalls you may run into.

  • I have footage that needs to be green screened. One of the cameras zoomed and panned, is there anyway to lock foreground and background so the motion is consistent

I shot two cameras for green screen editing but one of the operators zoomed and panned so the key is good but when the camera zooms it looks like the subjects are floating, any idea how to synchronize the foreground to background

I think you will need the camera tracker effect in AfterEffects, It would be best to ask in their forum.
