I have 4 accounts in Apple Mail, 1 at iCloud and 3 at Gmail. On just one of those addresses a given message is received numerous times. Example: my inbox shows the 1st 2 messages coming from my own email address and the title is identical, Mind over .....
I'd love to offer a screen capture and save a few 1000 words. You'll see that I have numerous duplicate copies of emails being received by one account, my RegisterMe4Now address. Let's see if the captures don't speak for themselves.

Recently I have switched out computers and had copied/ transferred my I ITunes library to the new computer and encountered problem. Many of the songs in the library were purchased from my old email address of that I no longer use nor did I remember the old password in order to authorize playing from the new computer. I was just thinking that if someone or some software agent is accessing your computer then they also have access to saved passwords if for instance it is webmail and the password is stored on Firefox, or if you store logins and passwords in any other utility.

An obvious thing to do is also make sure you log out of email and do not leave yourself logged in or use the remember me option.

it is probably worth contacting them again, give a couple of examples of the emails you are referring to and tell them that you yourself did not type those emails. Ask if they can explain how this may have happened.

Why am I able to receive an email from my own email address that I never sent?
I get email in my inbox that sends it to my junk email folder sent from my own email address that I never wrote or sent. It is junk mail and I want to stop it, I see no way to stop email with unwanted words like you could in windows xp.
Spammers can forge any "from" name and address they like on a message. Since most users don't block mail sent by themselves, they hope to slip past your spam filter this way.
Unless you see these items in your Sent Items folder, or they list multiple people from your address book, most likely they are not connected to your email account.
That said, it's a good idea to scan your computer for malware, because many users unknowingly get recruited into spamming rings (a bot program on your computer takes commands from the botnet coordinator and sends out the spam, usually without any visible indication). Stop spams "sent from" my own email address

I really need you help with stoping spams sent from my own email address. First, I thought my account had been hacked, then I quickly realized it was just a modified header after a little research online. But still, it doesn't mean there is nothing to worry about. I use mountain lion for home and icloud as my primary email account (which was spamed). I sniffed around apple mail settings for 20 mins- specially under "junk mail" and "rules"- but I couldn't find a way to stop these crazy spams without listing my own email account as junk. I don't want to list mylist on junk list, because it will make me such a loser... Somebody please help me to configure my apple mail so it will seperate spams from the emails I send to myself. I'm receiving emails as if I had sent them. They say either [email protected] or [email protected]
How do I stop this? I am obviously not sending emails to myself.I doubt that anything has been hacked. In all probability, a spammer has obtained your email address and is using it as a bogus From: address and somewhat stupidly may also be using it as a To: address.
Viewing the source of the received message (using ctrl+u) can reveal something about the message's true provenance. Whilst it is not going to tell you who sent it (and the actual sender may be some innocent user whose machine <em>has</em> been compromised), it can be reassuring to find that the message came from some entirely foreign location, and not any account or machine that you are responsible for. -
I have 4 email accounts in apple Mail. My mail is sending from the wrong account. even on "reply" it sends from a different account. I have 3 gmail accounts and one exchange server account. I choose which account to send from and it still sends from the same gmail account. Help.
I HAD two accounts because of this problem. I completely removed the problem account from the Apple Mail client. Guess what is happening?? That's right - Mail is still sending from the other account that no longer exists on my computer, and I have absolutely no idea how this is happening. This is incredibly frustrating. When a recipient chooses to reply to my message, quite often I won't get it now because it is going to the other account that has now been deleted from my system. COME ON APPLE!!! WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH THIS???

My wife and I each have our own email address and calendar. These are on one IPad. The Ipad has a single ICloud account.
What's the best way to backup both Calendars, etc? Does ICloud automatically back up every account on the same IPad? (I checked ICloud, but I could only find my stuff.)

AlanFirst, you need to understand that there's a difference between "syncing" and "backup". Backup is the saving of content and settings, where syncing is the bidirectional transfer of content for an account to a web-based server (like iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, etc.)
If you see your calendar in your iCloud account, that implies that you have set up your iCloud account to host (sync) your calendar, and perhaps contacts, email, and notes. An iCloud account can only sync one user's information at a time so it is intended to support a single user. You can have more than one iCloud account, and you can even have more than one iCloud account on the same device (but one has to be primary, and the secondary iCloud has limited capabilities), but a single iCloud account only supports a single user's content.
Backup is the saving of your device's content and settings to use in case you need to recover these things, but you can't see the contents of your backup (just the size and device name). You can backup more than one device to iCloud and you can backup to iCloud or you can backup to your computer, or both (one at a time though, you have to choose).
So, if your wife has her own email and calendar she can certainly do that in parallel to whatever account(s) you have for email and calendar. But if you have only one iCloud account then only one of you can use it for email, calendar, etc. But the backup of these accounts is really just a backup of the device's settings that link the device to these accounts. For example, if she uses Gmail then the backup of the iPad only backs up the fact that your iPad is set up to use her account, it does not backup the account itself (the content of her account is saved and preserved on Google's servers, not your device's backup).
Does that make better sense? -
I have just connect my iPhone to iCloude and it is showing my sons address in the setting any change i can change that to my own Email address.

I did not do my research before changing my Apple ID from an outdated email address to a current one. I just changed and verified and though I was all set. WRONG! Now I cannot sign in to iCloud because it will not let me enter the new Apple ID. I read the 10/30/13 randers4 post to just change your Apple ID back then sign in and change it to the new email address again and then you can sign in, but I cannot change back to the prior email address Apple ID because that is no longer an active email account (or at least not mine). Any thoughts on how to get signed into iCloud when it does not allow me to type in the new Apple ID and the old Apple ID no longer exists.
I see that many people have asked, but no one has come up with a solution that I found.
Thanks for any help!This did not work for me. My old email account for iCloud still pops up on my screen every time I open my macbook. I've deleted it, reset it, every thing I can think of and it still shows up. I think six months of this is more than enough time to wait.

I have Comcast as my IP. My wife also uses my account with her own email address. I have my address book and she has hers. My problem is on her ipad, my address book comes up with her account. Any ideas on how I can get her address book on her account?
It sounds like you're both syncing with the same computer log-in so the sync mechanism thinks that you're one person. You need to set up separate computer log-ins so that you have separate iTunes operation.

At 3:29 est I received 2 email from a Mark Kemsley titled quotation jrhfexl which I opened. A few minutes later I tried sending an email and an error message showed saying that I had exceeded my quota. However I have only sent 1 email today. I checked my sent folder and I saw several emails sent from an electronic email address that I am unaware of. Has my email been hacked? If so what can I do about this problem?
Start computer in Safe mode and run scans for virus's, malware etc.
Then restart computer normally and logon to webmail and change password.
You will need to update password in Thunderbird if it has been instructed to remember it.
Contact your ISP or Google etc depends on where the email account is with.
Tell them your problem of exceeded quota and that someone has been using your email address without your knowledge. They may be able to see if it was from a different IP address from yours and offer more help. -
A have new problem that has appeared in my Mac Mail. When I type a frequently used email into the 'To: line' it populates the correct name but with 8 different email addresses not associated with that name. I have gone to the window pop-down to 'previous recipients' and deleted that addressee as well as all the email addresses it is assigning to that name. I have also deleted the account entirely from my address book. I have have run repair permissions and also full defrag in iDefrag. Still the problem persists. Any suggestions?

If you are referring to Activation Lock, the password for the Apple ID signed into the device is required, there is no way around this. If you do not have the information and cannot contact the previous owner, the device is useless.
