I have 4 devices all varying ages and versions how do I get them all to one account?
I have 2 old iPods with a shared itunes account but different email accounts synced to a computer we no longer have.
I have an old iPad (4.xxx I don't know what version) that when first synced to the old computer crashed it and the reason we no longer have it. So we bought a new laptop and we are afraid to plug the iPad it into. So we just didn't for two years. And as a bonus I have no clue as to what email i tried to sync it to at the time or password used.
And that email address may have been one that was hacked and disabled.
I have a fairly new iPhone that is synced to my work email.
I would like to update everything but don't even know where to start. Baby steps, help please, as I am obviously a gadget geek with NO actual gadget / computer/ apple skills. And lazy as I haven't worried about any of this until the iPad kept crashing all the time and the iPhone wanted me to update but I am scared to.
Jedi masters, any idea where to start?
Thank you,
Hannah

When you say sync'd to email do you mean you have multiple AppleIDs you have used for these devices?
You don't "sync to email".

I have two groups for my Coldplay collection. How do I get them back into one group?
In early 2009, my Coldplay collection jumped from their then-four studio albums to a collection in triple digits. Somewhere along the way, certain songs and albums were going into a separate group called 'Coldplay', just like the regular 'Coldplay'. Countless times, I have gone through each and every song and album in the second group to check for any inconsistincies, but, everything looks identical.
I am OCD in terms of things belonging where they should and having two groups of the same thing drive me insane.
When the problem first arose, I was using Windows XP. I received a MacBook Pro for graduation this past May and I used Home Sharing to transfer my music to my new Mac. I was hoping something could be changed, but alas, nothing.
Any help?Look at Steve MacGuire's helpful article: http://samsoft.org.uk/iTunes/grouping.asp It explains how to solve this much better than I can.

i have 5 devices all on one itune account.i have not activated icloud because i dont want it to sync all our information together. is there a way to set it up to only sync the music together and not the contacts photos messages etc
Unless you subscribe to iTunes Match, iCloud doesn't sync music. Just set up every person's devices on a separate iCloud account and your iCloud data and photo stream will remain separated. Each iCloud account will need a separate ID, but it does not need to be the same as your iTunes ID. You can continue to share the same iTunes ID and maintain separate iCloud accounts with separate IDs for iCloud.
You'll also want to use separate IDs for each person for iMessage and FaceTime. This will keep your text messages and FaceTime called separated as well. The easiest way to do this is to have everyone use their iCloud ID for these two services as well. -
I have been dragging my files to a external drive to have a back-up for them and I lost some of my folders. They just went completely missing. I didn't delete them, and it was all stuff that I have worked on in the past month. How do I get them back?
You really should be doing backups with an actual backup application, especially one that will work automatically, and, if your external HD is large enough, back up your entire system. These can automatically back up only what's changed since the previous backup, and some will keep "archive" copies of things you've changed or deleted, also.
Too many things can go wrong, such as your internal HD failing, and you'll have a major project to reinstall everything.
You already have Time Machine, built-in to OSX. You might want to review the Time Machine Tutorial, and perhaps browse Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions.
#27 in the second link mentions some alternatives, too. -
I have synced my phone it has taken all my purchases photos and videos how do i get them back
i have synced my phone it has wiped all my purchases photos and videos how do i get them back
Did you sync to a different computer than the one you had previously synced to? If so you need to sync to the original computer. Otherwise you can just restore the last backup you made on the previous sync.

"Where do I find my hundreds of dollars of downloads I have done since 2005?"
They will only be where you put them If you are doing the very basics, then they will be on your computer and they will be in your backup copy of your computer.
The itunes store is not global at all, never has been. You cannot redownload your content from another country. You can only use the countrys itunes store for the country that you are physically located. -
I have over 200+ songs that iTunes deems intelligible, how do I get them on my device?
Welcome to the Apple community.
You will need to work out why they are ineligible, are they the wrong format, are the file sizes simply too large or is the data rate at which the audio was iencoded too low. -
I have home movies burned onto a DVD. How do I get them into imovie?
I have home movies burned onto a DVD. How do I get them into imove?
i assume you mean for editing. in that case, you're going to need either some software or hardware to convert the signal from DVD to something that iMovie can handle.
there are a couple of devices out there that can convert sources like DVD, like a Canopus ADVC ($170), or the cheaper Elgato VCD ($85) that converts to mp4. the main advantage of the Canopus is that i can convert from analog sources like VHS.
if you're just working from DVD sources, then DVDxDV software ($29) will probably do the trick and be the most reasonably priced option.
of course, these all are meant to be used for non-copyrighted DVDs -- they will not work on DVD's that have have copy protection, and no one here will discuss any illegal copying. -

Hi, i accidently erase my notes and settimg , how can i get them back?
If you had a back-up created you can simply restore from your back-up.
This article may help, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
If you don't have a back-up you will unfortunately need to input all of your settings again. -

i recently upgraded to maverick and i lost 2 apps i want back they are network utility and mail how can i get them back or where can i find them to download
Hi megamike1969,
I've been losing some apps also in the Dock. As Niel said I think is that you may be able to just drag them back to the Dock, if you can find them.
What I do is open Launchpad and while you're in there, drag the application to the Dock. If you can't locate the apps, then disregard this post.

I've got two iTunes accounts with apps under each - how can I reconcile them both under one account and one email address?
You cannot.
Sorry. -
I turned on the cloud to back up my notes, calendar, contacts etc. When I turned on contacts it asked if I wanted to merge, which to me means combine, but when I went back to my contacts all of the A contacts and B contacts were there, but nothing else. How do I get them back.
Sorry but I'm a bit confused about what you're asking. You seem to be indicating that you have an iCloud backup as well as a backup on your computer but it isn't clear to me what you are trying to do with them. Can you explain this?
