My ipod touch has had 52 app updates that have been installing since last weekend. The number was at 36 and has been steadily climbing every day. They say intalling but never complete.

    Brute force....
    Download the OS X client 10.6.8 combo update or the OS X Server 10.6.8 combo update directly from Apple, install that, and see if the problem clears.    (If you don't know what OS X Server is, you're probably not running it.)
    If applying the combo update fails to resolve this, try running a disk verification and a disk permissions repair, then re-try the combo update, and see if the problem clears.
    If the above doesn't clear the issues, then you'll want to check the logs using Console.app and see if there are any errors related to why the updates are not being applied.

    App store updates are cached as folders inside a folder on the iphone named Downloads before the old app is replaced, together with a {temporary?} sqlite database. Obviously the App Store app looks for content in this folder when it starts up, so while this cached data remains in the folder the iphone will attempt to continue with downloads, even after full shutdown and startup.
    There are third party programs which will mount your iphone in the finder and let you browse the disk contents - there are variations on what folders and what connection root they mount at and whether they allow you to modify or delete contents which you do at your own risk - you may need that backup!
    So need to pause the downloads, (if you want to make sure the downloads don't restart you can sign out of the app store / disable wifi / 3G data), mount the disk, eg using phoneview or a similar program, navigate to the above folder and delete the downloading updates (which you will see) and the sqlite database. A quick doublecheck is the date that the files have been created; it should be the date you commenced the accidental "update all" event {which really SHOULD have an OK confirmation action IMHO}.
    Shutdown and restart, and apps that haven't been replaced should have visually reverted to their previous state.
    There may or may not be issues caused by deleting the downloads database file, such as the phone thinking that it has already updated programs that you terminated the update for; it may pay to make a note of all of the paused updates before you take this step.

    if your cc app continues to show ps cc is up-to-date after it's uninstalled, CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed

    We have two users that have been using Creative Cloud for almost a year. Recently, sometime in the last 4ish weeks, the users can no longer run Creative Cloud apps. (Yes, our subscription is paid.) Error simply says administrator access is required to install. The apps have already been installed. The users cannot run them unless they are in the local admin group.Using "Run as admin" does not work. It gives the same error.
    I have opened a case with adobe support and was basically told to suck it up and put the users in the admin group. Actually, what was said was that it is "mandated that the users have administrative rights". 
    There are a couple of things wrong with this. It was working for both users until recently - a recent required creative cloud update. The users have never been local admins yet the apps were working (poorly, but working).
    We are in an enterprise environment and users simply do not have administrative rights on the computers.
    I have changed permissions on all adobe folders, granting users or authenticated users modify or full control rights, did the same in whatever Adobe registry HKLM keys I could find. Nothing has allowed the users to run the apps - unless they are put in the local admin group.
    Someone has to have a fix for this. Adobe apps have proved to have far too many vunerabilities to even entertain the idea of elevating user rights. I can't imagine that enterprise environments are allowing this.
    Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Thank you for your response. The users in question are "standard" domain users. We do not reduce users permissions below the standard level.
    The apps do not load with their current standard user permissions.
    The thing that makes this odd, is that up until recently they did this issue with cloud apps. The only way I can make it work for them now is to put them in the local administrator group on their pc's - which is not going to happen.
    This is what they now see. As I said before, this was not a problem up until recently they would see all their available apps. If I put them in the local admin group the apps are listed without having to install. Everything is there, just not accessible to the user.

    We need a bit more information to help.
    Are you trying to update your iPhone using iTunes on your computer?  If so, did you make purchases through the iTunes Store or App Store on your iPhone, and fail to sync them with your computer?  That is the likely meaning of what you are seeing.  If this is true, the purchases would be added to iTunes in your computer before the upgrade proceeds.

    There are a number of other threads from people reporting a problem with a blank Updates tab in the App Store app - it looks like there is a problem at Apple's end which they need to fix.
    Some posts are suggesting that you if you go into the Purchased tab in the App Store app you might be able to update the apps from there, though you will need to scroll through the list to find those with updates and individually update them.

    Depends on many things.
    If your system is Lion, XP can only be installed under VM.  BootCamp in Lion only accepts Windows 7.
    As to "one use only", if you are referring to OEM ...
    A reinstall can trigger the OS to "not register" because "a major component serial number or MAC (the network MAC chip) address" has changed, according to MS databases.
    But you can call MS to get the key reactivated, usually/sometimes.  It is worth a try, at least, before spending money on another Windows 7 package.  But this discussion should end *now* at "maybe" as it treads close to matters that forum Terms-of-Use would prefer we not discuss.

    We have 3 computers that have the latest itunes version and now we cannot see eachothers library anymore.  All of them are authorized.     It most definitely is the browser that is causing most of the problems. I have used Firefox so long, I can't even remember. Maybe since its beginning. But today is a sad day. I gave up on it. I can't accomplish anything and end up spending hours troubleshooting. I see I am not alone. I am so sick of it "not responding." It's simply not worth it to spend so much time trying to make the thing work, so I can actually do something. Installed, removed, reinstalled numerous times, and I can't fix your software on my Win 7 Pro machine. No problems with IE or Chrome. So. as much as I hate Google Update, Chrome has won the test. Sad, sad day for me to lose Firefox, but it just does not work on the Win 7 machine. I don't have the same issues with the XP machine and have exactly all the same add-ons. Keep it up developers and you will have no Win 7 users at all.

    my apps have been crashing since last night including even the app store.  this only started happening late last night since doing the ios 5.0.1 update.  i am not sure what is happening.  even when i click on the phone buttom the apps are all crashing not loading stuff.  i cannot even seem to get email only some of the time and than when it does and i try moving them to trash they dont go to trash they re appear right back in my inbox a few minutes later.  i have rebooted the iphoine a few times but with little avail to any situations that are working for me currently.
    i think this is an apple ios 5.0.1 update issue.  i think they may have screwed things up big time this time.  i have also found no improvement with battery life at all.  not sure what is wrong but i hope they fix it fast.  this is ridiculous

  • ITunes still says I have app updates after updating

    I've been trying to find a solution to this for a while. iTunes will tell me I have a certain app for updating. I'll update it and after updating it still says that app needs to be updated. I've tried to delete the problematic app and re-download the app but it still shows it needs to be updated. The only solution I've found is to update the app on my iPhone and let it sync with iTunes to update it on my mac.
    Does anyone have the same issue and have a better solution?

    - update all applications on the iPhone
    - go to iTunes and press File -> Transfer purchases from iPhone
