Older Macs with a single Harddrive would simply expand OS management on the drive, and I think I understand the new Fusion Drive to do just that, but how do I get this product that I spent a great deal of money on to be more than a pretty screen?

OS X manages ram and when you run out, it create swapfiles to extend your ram on the HDD (Hard Disk Drive). The OS itself, takes about 16 gig of space and that too resides on the HDD. Your 16 gig of RAM is really a temporary space that holds things from the HDD so the processor can work on them. There is no design flaw between your ram and HDD. Something else is going on and there are a lot of smart people here to help you figure out what that "something else" is.
I would do three things. First I would create a backup, backups are important. Second, I would reboot into recovery and repair my HDD. Lastly while still booted in recovery I would repair permissions.
Can you capture a screen shot of the exact error you are getting?

There are two things we use the name "Slideshow" for in Aperture: a Slideshow Album, used for making Slideshows, and the Slideshow that is made. (Imho, it is a design mistake to not call the containers used to create Slideshows, Books, etc., "Albums".)
The Slideshow will use the Album Pick from any Stack. A good way to use Aperture is to promote the Image you want to regularly use (such as, for example, a Version with adjustments) to the top of the Stack. This makes it the Stack Pick, and will be the default Album Pick. If you haven't done that, you can still change the Album Pick for any Stack in a Slideshow Album. Expand your Stack(s), select the Image in each Stack that you want to be the Album Pick (and thus shown in the Slideshow), and "Stacks➞Set Album Pick". (Note the keyboard shortcut; there is also a Toolbar icon for this.) The change is immediate. The Slideshow will always show the Album Pick (or, if there is not one, the Stack Pick) for every Stack in your Slideshow Album.

Try running these songs through MP3 Validator to see if there any issues.
If nothing else, convert them to another format such as AAC via iTunes using the instructions in this Apple support document.

My hard drive is full, i'm being told i have 284.03 GB of other. How can I find out what these files are so i can delete them?

My Mac is telling me that my hard drive is almost full, i have used 7.65 GB for Audio. 16.58 GB for Movies, 9.89 GB for photos, 788.6 MB for Apps and 284.03 GB for Other. how can i find out what "other" is so I can delete it? I hope someone can help me.

If OS X is reporting you need to remove some items you obviously have a more severe issue.
To fix your issue is likely too complicated and lengthy to go into all of it here as it sounds like a OS X issue, it will require the services of person very familiar and experienced with Mac's to first recover your data and then restore OS X back to a functional state which may or may not require new hardware/software installed.
If your under warranty or AppleCare, take it in for service.
You can also hire the services of a local Mac computer support technician experienced in these matters.
Have them look at your Wifi, RAM amount, extra storage and computer backup proceedures in the process.

Simply erasing and reinstalling is not adequate. As others have suggested, you should use Disk Utility to do a secure erase before reinstalling. You also need to do some other things, like making sure to deauthorize the machine in iTunes and include the original Mac OS X install disk that shipped with the machine. For all the details, see:

iTunes Match does not use your iCloud account. Your annual Match subscribtion pays for separate storage to host your iTunes library. As far as I know, you can't increase the 25,000 song limit.
If you recently purchased the storage upgrade for this purpose, in the U.S. you could call 1-800-MYAPPLE for a refund if you don't need it.

How can I choose to save a download straight into a sub-folder, rather than just a folder at the top level?

I have altered my preferences on firefox so that it asks me where I wish to save a file I am downloading, but when it opens the box for me to choose the location, only the top level of files is offered (i.e. documents) and not more specific files that are within that file (i.e. pay slips). How can I access these other levels directly? At the moment, I have to save to the desktop and then transfer to the appropriate file later.

I am not American, (Maltese, if you care) and I am highly considering an iPad 2. One problem. Here in Malta, the prices for the iPad 2 are like $300 higher than that stated on the Apple website. Do Apple offer an overseas delivery (I am ready to pay any shpping charge) as I did an 'order' (step up the steps, see where you got to - 'fake' order) and the word United States is unchangable. Does that mean that Apple can't sent any units to Malta? Are forwarders the only option left for me?
Malta is a country, yes. Its European. Important - In Malta they sell iPad 2, but much higer in price.

The correct steps are
Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive
My guess is that that you have not switched iphoto to use the external drive yet - opttion launch and select libary

I am currently an owner of an Ipod Touch 4th generation. I see you are having problems with your Ipod Touch, so I will try to find a solution to your problem.
Hold down the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10sec. or until Apple logo appears (Nothing will be lost, this is just a "Hard Reset")

Suddenly, messages are not displaying correctly, how can I cure this?

Messages have stopped displaying correctly, or, in some case, at all. The messages have downloaded OK. Even messages which were displaying correctly earlier, now don't. It occurred after 'finger' problems - I tried to type something into Firefox but failed to change focus from Thunderbird to Firefox first and have obviously changed some setting. What can I do to restore normal behaviour?
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and even deleting all references I can find to Thunderbird from the AppData folders in the users directory all to no avail.

Thank you for the suggestions. They did not cure the problem, but that is because I think now that there is no problem; Thunderbird is working normally. It appears to have had a temporary glitch and has corrupted 8 or 9 messages around the one I was viewing when I hit wrong keys. The corrupted messages seem to contain the headers of dozens of other messages, some quite old. Apart from those few messages, all others in the root inbox folder and in all sub-folders seem OK.
