I have a 3gs 32gb iPhone which hangs on syncing at contacts and calendars. I have to disable sync of both of these if I want my podcasts to sync. I am using iTunes 10.2.2 (12) on a MBPro. What can I do to fix this?

Hi thanks for your quick reply but I feel sad I cant get this what was a useful device to get past the stage where it is stuck in now.
It was going to a good home my Dad who wouldnt be able to cope with the newer models.
Not knowing its past life isnt there any way it can be unHacked?
I know its IMEI number and seriel number

Apple allocates space on the flash memory for cacheing proposes. You shouldnt worry. You can fill it up with out preformance problems.

There's a menu choice (I think under "Files") that lets you sync purchased items on a device back to itunes. Look for that.
iCloud does not store music. If you want to do that you'd have to subscribe to itunes Match, but to get music to the match servers, you need the music in the itunes library on your computer.

Your router may not have given your iPod a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address shown starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPod (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. It will only be where you put it.
If it is on the ipad then transfer it to your computer, File>Devices>Transfer Purchases, then sync it to your iphone

All I can say is make sure you have the same account name on the computer like before, even if you have to create a new user under System Preferences>accounts, then log into your itunes account with that and try to reverse sync from the iPhone like you would normally.
Apple doesn't expect one to go backwards, so they are not all that friendly, you may have to ask around on MacRumors for third party software that can reverse sync from iOS devices.

I have videos on my iPhone which I can see on my Apple TV. How can I see the same videos from my computer so they don't hog space on the phone.

You will need to restore your phone as a new one using the itunes on your computer. This WILL erase everything on the phone but it will let you change the name of the phone and then you can add content to it.

The warranty follows the device, not the owner. If you have the device, if there is a warranty issue with the device, you can get it replaced. If you got it officially unlocked by the carrier it was locked to, then you have nothing to worry about it locking back if you do a restore. You may, however run in to activation problems if the device has iOS 7 on it. You will need the Apple ID and password for the person that originally activated the phone, and it sounds as if it has changed hands several times. If you cannot find that original Apple ID and password, then the phone will not be able to activate and no one will be able to help you with that, including Apple.
