I have a 4th generation Ipod Touch (I think) It shows that I am connected to my internet at home, but when I try to go to Safari, Itunes Store, App Store or Words with friends, I get a no internet error. Any suggestions???
I have tried to restart my ipod. Shutting it down completely and restarting it.
I have reset my network connections. My internet is working because I am able to get on here on my computer.

I have a 4th generation iPod touch which was working perfectly until I downloaded ios5 and now it won't connect to my wi-fi - all other devices working correctly. My pc didn't create a backup before updating software so I can't revert back to ios 4.3.5 from there, where can I download ios 4.3.5 from?
I tried just about everything and finally brought my Ipod touch to the apple store. The tech installed ios 4.3.5 but still no WIFI. He recommended a $149 exchange - not really a bad deal with a new battery and 90 day warranty, but I thought I'd try again.
The "solution" was bizarre. On YouTube was a fix involving taking the motherboard out and heating the wifi components with a heat gun.
I did not like that idea, but another involved turning it off, putting it in the freezer for five minutes and restarting. It worked! I must admit the fix does not work reliably, so I may still go for the exchange. Still, I am now convinced that it is a hardware problem. i remember back in the old days, TV repairmen sprayed a suspected bad resistor with Freon. The chilled component would work long enough to identify what needed replacement. Perhaps something similar is happening here.
For anyone wanting to try this, I found it more convenient to place the back of my ipod on a frozen cold pack until the wifi is restored. It seems to happen when condensation forms on the face. I used a towel to wipe off the moisture so as not to add to the problem. -
Both my iPod and computer (mac) say that iOS 6.1.5 is the latest software available. I have a 4th generation iPod touch, how do I get it to update to iOS 7?
. As Apple said in June, iOS 7 is not compatible with the 4G iPod.
All the iOS devices compatible (iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, and 5G iPod touch) with iOS 7 have at least 512 MB of memory (RAM). The 4G iPod only has 256 MB -
I have Windows 8 64 bit. iTunes works fine with my iPHONE but when I try to go to the iTunes store it loads to about 80% and then the message "iTunes has stopped working"

I have a 4th generation iPod shuffle which is not recognised in windows or iTunes when I connect to the computer , yet I have no problem when I connect my iPhone. I have installed the latest iTunes. Can anybody help me?
Thanks! But I actually figured it out! Right after I said something about the driver, I went into device mangager. Sure enough even though it did not show up as a drive letter the device manager said is was installed and working.
So I deleted the device out of device manager. Restarted and plugged it in. Although I go some weird error. It found the IPOD and now Itunes sees it.
I believe that killing the process would have done the same thing as you stated.
Thanks to all for taking the time to answer these issues. It beats the apple store or tech support. -
Please help me!!! I need that game.
Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists. -
Apple says ios 5 works with the 3rd generation ipod but the highest os i have is 4.2.1?!?!?! help!
If 4.2.1 is the latest version, then you have a 2nd gen iPod, not 3rd.

My friend cant remember the password. Can I change it from inside the iPod settings or something?
Your friend could only have changed it if they had your original passcode - you have to be able to enter the current passcode to change it to a new one. Once you restore it now, I would then change it and NOT give it out to people.
P.S. if you have a backup from when it still had your passcode on it, just restore from that backup and it should set the passcode back to what you had.
Without that backup, you will have to restore as new, and set everything up again from scratch. -
How do i get this done?
iDevices are not and have never been backup devices.
Copy all the media from the old computer or the backup of the old computer to the new computer. -
Please help me out ? this problem just happened all of a sudden.
By the way it is an 8 BG ipod. Also, when I go on to safari, another alert pops up that safari cannot verify the identity of the website, anything that I type in to as common as google.com. It gives me 3 options to either cancel, look at details, and continue. I've looked at the details of the website of Google and it is legitimate the site. Any help?

I have a 4th generation Ipod Touch. It has been working for months when yesterday the battery started acting werid. I was driving and it was connected with the usb charger cable to my car stereo when all the sudden my music stopped and the stereo could not recognize my ipod at all. When I got back home, I tried to charge it so it wouldnt die but even while on the charger in the wall the battery continued to die. I charged it over night (the first time I have ever charged it over night) desperately to have battery for a 4 o clock plane flight so I would have entertianment. The ipod died over night while on the charger. When I unplugged it from the usb charging cable I noticed that the icon telling me the ipod needed to be charged came up. So I plugged it back in. The charging thunder bolt symbol popped up next to the very small red strip on the left side of the battery indicating that the ipod had no charge to turn its self on. I tried plugging it in on the computer, the wall ac charger and a stereo system made just for the ipod that also pluggs into the wall. I have used 2 different cables, the result being the same that the ipod held no charge, and it wouldnt charge at all while on the charger, and it would imediately die once i take it off the charger.
I have not idea what has happened ....
Please help
THanks!- While charging try resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Next try restoring the iPod via iTunes. First from backup and if still problem restore to factory defaults/new iPod.
- However, I really think that the iPod has a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. If defective Apple should give you a refurbished iPod. -

32 GB 4th Generation iPod Touch
I have a 4th Generation iPod Touch that just froze and then went to a black screen with lines and then switched to a green screen with the backlight on and it won't turn off or connect to the computer. PLEASE HELP!!!!!
Hi thebugsmom-
Have you tried to connect it to your computer, or do a reset at all? If you have tried and this hasn't helped, I would suggest bringing it into your local Geek Squad to have them take a look, or your local Apple store.
Respectfully,
