I understand that your device becomes unresponsive when installing an App. If this issue persists, try forcing all applications to close and restart the device.

He are some apps that are still compatible for iOS 4.2
> Pandora Radio (supports iOS 3 or better)
> Army of Darkness: Defense (support iOS 3 or better)
> Jet Fighters: ONLINE
> Jet Fighters II: ONLINE
These are the apps that I know that supports iOS 4.2...... get these before the their next updates.
Some of these apps may be laggy but still playable.
BUT IF YOU DO UPGRADE TO BETTER IPOD...... I would get the iTouch 4g OR 5g because of iOS 6 and use of camera and better graphics. -
operating system os x 10.6.8 safari 5.1.10. am told on checking that 16.0.305 is installed but not in application. have downloaded install app but cannot carry out the installation. can anyone help? am unable to use any application requiring flash player.

Your version of Safari is still supported. Please see Adobe Flash Player | Tech specs for supported OS and browsers.
If the Flash Player plugin is in the Plug-ins (disabled) folder it's because it's an older version that Apple has disabled in Safari. This has nothing to do with whether or not Flash Player supports the browser.
I'm not sure what you mean by "when i click on flash player itself i am told there is no application to open it." Flash Player.plugin only works in the browser to view Flash content in the browser. The plugin does not open files outside of the browser. If you have SWF files you'd like to view outside of the browser, then you'll need the Flash Player projector. However, based on your previous comments this doesn't appear to be what you are trying to do.
Google Chrome does embed Flash Player in it, while Firefox does not. Mozilla has also recently started blocking older versions of Flash Player in Firefox similar to what Apple is doing in Safari.
Following the 'clean install' instructions should result in you having the latest version of Flash Player installed that will not be blocked by the browser.

we have 6 devises sharing the same apple id and password. when we download a game app it will backup on all devices. therefore we can not run individual unconnected versions of the game. suggestions. thanks.
What do yo mean by: " it will backup on all devices"?
If you mean that is one persone purchases an app it appears on all device then on each device go to Settings>Store and turn off automatic downloads. -

I'm not an expert on this, but it could indicate different problems. I assume that the pinwheel goes away after a while. If not, then seems that the activity in the window is locked up.
You might look at the memory usage on your computer. Open Activity Monitor in your Utilities folder and look at the memory usage on your computer. You may not have enough ram.
If you hadn't shut down and restarted your computer lately, you may try doing that to see if it clears up temp files and free up some memory. If you don't have enough memory, try closing other applications to see if it helps any.
You can also look at the CPU usage in Activity Monitor to see what's using up any high percentage of the CPU. -
Hi When I download an app on my iPad 3 it comes up ok on my homepage and shows waiting but it will not load & install. This has only just started a couple of days ago, and I have tried resetting the iPad but the problem persists. Hope some one can help, thanks. Zeters.
Check iTunes and see if you have a pending/stalled download e.g. Podcast, Music, Movies or iTune U. Finish off the download and apps should start downloading.
If there are no pending or stalled downloads, sign-out of account, reboot and sign-in again. -
my apps just dissapear after 11 pages of apps and i cant see them or delete them
11 pages is the limit. If you have enough space, you could put more in but you won't be able to see it. You have to use Spotlight to find it.
Use computer iTunes to see beyond the 11 page limit. Also in here (much easier) you can group some of your apps together in a folder. Using folders you can have over 2000 apps. -

I have been having problems downloading apps for a while now. I only just downloaded IOS 7 but I thought it would help me, it hasn't.
I go onto the app store to download and app, i enter the correct passwrd and the apps icon appears to be downloaded. The waiting sign appears on the icon and then the icon itself disappears, then on the app store it looks as though i have never tried to download it! Try this step first if an app download on your iPad is not completing:
Try tapping the App, so that it changes to Paused instead of Waiting, then tap it again to resume the install.
Make sure you don't have any paused downloads in other apps either, like the App Store or iTunes Store.
App updates won't download on my iPhone, they just say waiting.

Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app's preview up to close it.

In most cars with built-in BT hands-free systems it is the car's system that does the speech to text conversion and lookup, not the phone's. so there's nothing that can be done in an iPhone forum to help you. Try the customer support site for the car. You can tell it's the car system if the contact list is downloaded to the car and displayed on the car's screen (if it has one). -

No, you can't update your 2G iPast past iOS 4.2.1. The graphics hardware on the 2G does not support the latest Open GLS.
Yes, there are not that many apps that still works with a 2G with 4.2.1. -

I am on a Macbook (laptop) operating with Mac OSX 10.6.8. I am using WIFI to sign on and have no trouble opening Safari yet every time I try to open firefox I get hit with the 'server can't be found error message. Oddly, all the bookmarks still work and open fine.
This is what I did to resolve this problem. First, I uninstalled Firefox 4 & removed the Firefox folder left behind. I made sure to NOT select the option to delete personal information. Next, I backed up all of the important files on my computer. Next, I upgraded my Windows 7 to Service Pack 1, which was pending in my updates folder. Then, I went to Mozilla's website & downloaded Firefox 4 again, making sure to select only the Firefox browser and not Thunderbird too. http://www.mozilla.org/ When prompted to close any open programs, I closed Internet Explorer (which I had used to get to the Mozilla website) and I disabled my Norton anti-virus. I then completed the installation & it works just fine now. It loaded all of my personal data, such as bookmarks, it remembered my password, etc. It's fine for my needs, as I'm not a heavy user of special add-ons & plug-ins. Some of those may not work yet with the new version.

On my computer I apply for unemployment benefits at the Unemployment Insurance Agency web-site. Just recently, when I log in for benefits, I get to the second page, and I get automatically kicked back to the log-in page. I went to my local library, and I do not have this problem. I do not understand why I can log in, get to the second page, then I click proceed and I have to start all over without ever getting to the third page. Can someone figure this out?
