I have a backup from an old iPhone that won't delete it says it's in use?

I Bought an iPhone 6 + set it all up and restored it from icloud but it just kept on running restore after it was finished so I backed it up to itunes on my Mac then did a local restore so I have everything, then I backed up the 6 to icloud but now I can't delte the backup from the old iPhone because it says it's in use and I wou like to recover this available space.

An interrupted iCloud restore will wait for approximately three days for the restore to resume, then it will time out. If you wait 3-4 days you should be able to delete the backup.

I recently had to get a replacement iPhone 4. The tech at the Apple Store thought that I might have had a software problem and recommended that I not "restore from backup," but start this phone as a new device and just sync the apps and what-not. My calendar on my computer was different than the one on my old phone, though, and now I need the data from my old iPhone calendar. I did back up my old phone just prior to taking it to the Apple Store.

Well what you can do is update to ios5 then use icloud to sync your calandar up to your phone then restore your phone as new and when prompted in the new phone setup put in your icloud username and password and you will have your calandar events back.

You can delete the backup without any problem. Only the backup will be deleted from iCloud and nothing else will be deleted, so you can do it without worrying about losing data on iCloud or your devices

I was so excited to use my new iPhone 6 and started taking photos and videos with it. Not to mention that the photos and videos were of my all-time favorite artist during his much-awaited concert . When I got home, I forgot to download all the media files first to my desktop before performing "restore backup" via iTunes so all my old iPhone 5 settings could be duplicated in my new iPhone. Now, I can only access the photos/videos taken from my iPhone 5 in my iPhone 6. Not sure if I could still retrieve the new photos/videos taken recently using my iPhone 6 when they seem to have been overwritten by my old iPhone files. Please help.

Ok hotpeg. plug ur iphone to the computer go to itunes, in the iphone menu select PHOTOS then search on ur computer where you save your previous pictures from the other iphone and sync , all pictures will be transfering to ur iphone.

How do I merge the backup from my old iPhone 4 with my new iPhone 5?

I now have a backup of the 4 and a backup of the 5. Is there a way to combine the two so that I retain the old contact info and not lose any new info?

I am afraid not. When you restore from a backup, all of that data is placed on your phone, overriding any data previously on the phone.

You can use an iPhone file explorer such as TouchCopy to get the messages off the old phone. But you can't put them on the new phone as messages. You could put them in a pdf file that you could read on the new phone.
Normally when you get a new phone the first thing you should do is transfer the contents of the old phone to it (Transfer content from an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to a new device - Apple Support)). Then the problem does not arise. You are even prompted to do this when you activate the new phone. Once you have started using the new phone without doing this it is too late.

I just updated my os to lion and had to reinstall firefox . i accidentally lost all my bookmarks. I have a backup from before the update that was done through time machine but I can't find firefox in there. How can I retrieve them ?

I also have the app for my iphone which is still synced with my account and has my bookmarks there but I don't know how to get them onto firefox. The account i used to sync my bookmarks on my iphone app was under the email address [email protected] as is this one. I tried logging in with the first account but no pw I tried worked.
