Can't connect my ipod toch to itunes!!! It doesn't see it! I use windows 8, don't know if that's the problem. Anyways, my ipod is stuck! - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

My new ipod 2gb nano comes with a usb cable and a little clip or stand type thing that the nano can sit in and at the bottom has a hole that the usb wire sort of fits through but it isn't made to sit on the desk, its more like a clip of something, any ideas what this is or how to use it?
The extra piece is the adapter for the Universal Dock. The dock has a well in it and there's an adapter for each size of iPod that goes into it.

If you go to the Now Playing screen, the Repeat control is the the arrowed racetrack icon on the left side right below the scrubber bar. Tap the icon to change. It is white when Repeat is off.

I tried to update my 4s to the latest ios6. itunes came back and said there was an unexpected error. the screen on the phone is hung showing a usb cable and an arrow pointing to the itunes icon. itunes does not see the phone as being plugged into my computer. I restarted itunes, no difference. I can't seem to reset the phone. It comes up with the apple icon and then goes back to the usb plug screen. I'm totally hosed right now!!!

This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

I updated I tunes today , now I am unable to open my I Pod I Touch, the screen shows the I Tunes logo with a USB cord and arrow pointing back up to the icon, can't access my Home page
The screen indicates that your device is in recovery mode. It has to be restored by connecting it to a computer with itunes. Restore to factory settings.
This happens sometimes. Hopefully you have a backup.

I tried to update Firefox. Everything went well until restarting computer. Result was nothing....got the same as I had before. Each time I tried to open Firefox, I got message to restart computer to complete installation of update. This goes on over and over. I have tried to uninstall Firefox using Control Panel and I get same results.....a message to restart the computer and this repeats itself also.
You can try to boot the computer in Safe mode (press F8 on the boot screen) to see if that allows to remove the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\) if you can't uninstall Firefox or remove/rename that folder in regular mode.

Since installing Yosemite my iMac frequently freezes, particularly when I have multiple windows open/apps running. I've never had this problem before. All my apps are installed on a solid-state drive and all documents, etc. on a separate drive, so I'm accustomed to fast performance. Most problems seem to occur with Microsoft Office (Word and Entourage) and Safari, but that's what I use most heavily, so no surprise. I have always been able to keep a lot of apps/windows open on desktop without performance problems, until now. Yosemite is leaving me stranded. (I upgraded to Yosemite because a couple of the newest apps I use on my two Macs and iPhone require Yosemite.) Any advice?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

After trying to update facebook, installation stopped at about 99%. it appered to have stopped the installation. i then held down the lock and home button to turn it off. now my screen is stuck with the apple icon.

My wife and nephew were trying to down load some pictures from his digital camera. When they plugged the card reader into the bus to read the digital camera card it wouldn't work. Now when I turn on the imac all I get is an picture of a small file with an alternating "?" and apple face. How do I get the imac to start up?
Do you have reliable backup you can restore from, as an erase and re-install may be required?
Before you got down that route, it's possible that it might get fixed if you try again. Not sure about that particular error, but I have had errors in the past that Disk Utility wouldn't fix on the first attempt but then subsequently did.
It's also possible that the (around $99, I think) Disk Warrior might resolve it - but not guaranteed.
However, I just found this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3862376?start=15&tstart=0 have a look at Nirvi's post at the end - there may be hope (I've not tried this, although it seems to have helped a few, although not everybody - so at your own risk and I wouldn't try it if I didn't have backup). -
i tried to restart and re download everything and it still is doing the same thing. this keeps happening alot and i have to end up taking the ipod to the apple store to have them erase everything on my ipod to restart it. is there anything i can do at home to fix it
Have you tried to put the device into DFU mode?
To put the device in DFU mode,
1. Connect the device to iTunes
2. Hold both the power button and the home button down simultaneously
3. After 10 seconds, release the power button but leave the home button pressed
4. iTunes should then recognize that the device has entered DFU mode and ask to restore.

While updating my iPad to ios7, it got stuck on the iTunes-USB screen and is frozen. No other screen shows up when I turn it off or on.

Prior to starting the update you took a backup ? If not then it's now too late to do so, you will need to reset the iPad back to factory defaults and you can then restore to your last backup or resync your content.
