I HAVE A BLACK SPOT GROWING ON MY PHONE

Is this common ?! I have an iphone 5!!! I know it's a dead pixel but I never seen this EVER HAPPEN! Ugh.. If I replace the screen will this happen again?! I'm tired of it! This black spot is the size of an American quarter!!! It also has yellow, purple, blue and green around the black spot and when I have a black wallpaper on the phone, it's a glowing green In the middle. will apple do something about this?! I feel like I'm the only one that has this!!

Sounds like either a defect in the LCD, or physical damage to the LCD. Make an appointment at the genius bar and see what they say.

  • Black spot on "Camera" taking photos, not videos

Hello everybody. I hope that you can help me. Today I updated my iPhone 4S to iOS6 and now I have a black spot up and left side of the camera. First I thought that it was something stuck to the lens, but it wasn't and when i set up the camera to use it to take a video the black spot doesn't appeirs. I've turned off the Camera app, the iPhone, I've tryed to change the options, puting in landscape mode, everything... and nothing happens. Also, when I use another app that uses the camera... it doesn't show the black spot.
Is a problem with iOS6?. Does someone know how to fix it?... Somebody has the same problem?... anything that can help me .
    Thanks!

(and by the way, of course the iPhone didn't received any punch)

  • Black spot on camera?

This just started happening today.. I have a black spot on the upper right portion of my rear camera..it only shows when I'm trying to use the camera. The outer glass or plastic over the camera is clean. I don't see any dirt or scratches or anything. When I zoom to a certain point, the black spot goes away, zoom back out and it comes back...
is my inner lens screwed up or dirty? It honestly hasn't been dropped or put anywhere near water.
    help?

    Hi mommylo89,
    Welcome to the forum!
We need to check if this is caused by the software or hardware of the phone. First, May we know what is the model of the device? Have you tried restarting the phone or performing a reset? Performing a reset will refresh the system of the phone. If it's still the same after that, possible that it is a hardware issue and that you need to send it for check up at the Nokia Care Point.

  • There is a growing black spot on my iPod touch 4 screen. Help please.

One day it was fine then in the afternoon a black spot appeared. I did not drop it or do anything out of the ordinary. The next day it changed shapes. Then it changed shape again and the following day it grew. Any ideas?

I recall one other user reporting a similar problem.
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Black spot on corner of iPhone 4 screen

I got my iPhone 4 at the beginning of July. About a week and a half ago this tiny little black spot showed up in the top left hand corner of my screen. I ignored it at first because it was small but it keeps growing. The phone hasn't been dropped or anything like that. The outside is perfect with no scratches or anything on it. The screen still works but the corner is completely black. I contacted Apple yesterday and I chose the option of paying $29 for a new phone over sending it in to be repaired mainly because they said it is probably a hardware issue and I don't trust this particular phone since it already had a problem after just 1 month of having it. They were very helpful on the phone and said that as long as the moisture sensors showed that it was fine (the bottom sensor that I can visibly see is white so this isn't an issue), the phone will be replaced with the new one for just the $29 even though they put a hold on my credit card for the full price of the phone to ensure that I actually send this one back. Has anyone ever had an issue like this on their phone? I was really disappointed when this happened but when it started growing, I was extremely frustrated. I am happy that they were so nice about the issue and everything is being handled in a nice way but this is just really disappointing. I have read of dead pixels happening but I don't know if these are dead pixels. It is completely black, not colored. Any idea what this might be? or has anyone experienced this with a phone before?

I'm sorry but I thought this was a forum about Apple products. Yes, there are more important things to worry about but that doesn't mean that I can't be disappointed that my phone had a malfunction. While on an Apple forum, I feel that I should be able to discuss how I feel about a certain Apple product. And yes, I am getting mine replaced but you didn't answer my question that I asked. I know that I am getting it replaced and the problem will be solved but my question was does anyone know what the cause of this may be or if anyone has experienced this before. If you read my post, you will see that I said I am very happy with the way Apple handled it, but it is disappointing to have this happen to my new phone. I don't appreciate your post and it had zero helpfulness. Maybe you should realize that while on a forum about Apple products, even though they aren't the most important things in the world, people will discuss their issues with these products and yes, some will even be disappointed. Deal with it.

  • IPod 4th gen screen lifting and black spot, what do I do?

Ok so like 2 months ago my iPod 4th gen screen started lifting. I was like woah I have to get that fixed but the weird part was that I had never dropped it. Also after a while it started getting a black spot right next to where it was lifting. I ignored it at first because it was small but then it started getting bigger. My case has kept it together but to clean it I have to take it off and when I snapped it back on the corner where it was lifting cracked. I don't know if this was something like they didn't put on the screen right but I don't wanna have to pay so much to fix something that they did if it was their fault. Help please what do I do
    Would the warranty cover this?

If the iPod was not abused it is covered by the warranty.

  • Black spots with RemoteApps using the Microsoft Remote Desktop on a mac

Hi, I'm dealing with a very strange problem with black spots while using a remoteapp. See the picture for the black spots. It's only happening when I use the MS Remote Desktop App on a mac (version 8.0.12, latest version of the appstore).
The RDS enviroment that we're using is Server 2012 R2 based with all the RD roles installed on several servers. Has someone any idea where to look? I've tried several things, LAN experience on the RD Web access disabled, new user without roaming profile,
nothing works. Sorry for the big picture...

  • Black spots when taking a picture

When I take photos or videos, two black spots appear at the screen, this just happens when taking a photo or video so I guess that it might be something with the camera. I would like to know why is this happening and if there is any solution. This is really annoying so please help me,
    Pablo

Are the spots in the same places every time? Do you have an example picture?

  • Black Spots on Lumia 1020, this one is like a Mark...

I know there are lot of posts on the same issue, the reasons still i am posting this here is for some clarifications.
Is this a Issue with the Screen Display?
is this common for all AMOLED screens of 1020?
only few complain on this? Rest of the users are getting out of box no issues of any sort with display.
I have bought this online, and i have 30 days return policy.
can some please Suggest me? does replacement guarantee that i dont get a similar device, because everyone are saying its AMOLED thing,  Please advice.
Please Note, this is visible only during Complete darkness in the room, during nights, GLANCE screen makes it visible, CORTANA screen Makes it Visible and some Third party App screens with Greyish or blackish backgrounds makes it Visible.
This is annoying and takes of the experience of having this awesome device.
Is this COMMON or RARE Situation what i have, sorry i did not use proper punctuation and grammar as i am sad and confused.

Hi Prashanth, I got replacement yesterday and this one is better than the previous one. i hardly  see any spots with naked eye during regular use under low light conditions, if i focus during the night on black screen i see few tiny specs. but they dont bother me anymore while watching videos or in pitch black env.
i am not gonna care much now, and make peace with this replacement, learnt that its very hard to get a AMOLED screen with zero black spots.
    Hope it helps.

  • Black spots on printouts.

We have a Cannon MFC multi color laser printer, we changed the black print cartridge and when we print black/White , the printouts have black spots and other letters in the background. Can anyone please let us know if they had the same issye and what they did to fix it.
    Thanks

    Thank you nvenktesh,
Your paper, toner cartridge or the need to clean an internal unit can factor into the issue.  Please first ensure that supported paper is being used: Paper drawer/16 to 32 lb (60 to 120 g/m2); Stack Bypass Tray/ 16 to 47 lb (60 to 176 g/m2).  Note:  Highly textured, very smooth or shiny paper do not print well.
If print or image quality is affected, and when replacing your Canon toner cartridge, cleaning the Fixing Assembly is very useful.  Visit the link and select the article "Cleaning the Machine" for details on cleaning the assembly.
Please contact us if further assistance is needed.

  • Macbook pro 17 dispaly black spots

have a glossy screen 17 inch mb pro. In the middle of the screen some light grey black spots have appeared. they seem to be under the screen but over the underlying image etc. has anyone else had this problem??

    Hi,
I had the same thing happen to my MBP. They changed my display, but unfortunately I got one of these horrible, grainy displays that everybody is talking about. I am trying to figure out which model was originally in my laptop, since the quality was much better (except for the gray spots that appeared). Do you know what model you have in your MBP?
    Cheers,

  • Nokia N8, Camera Issue: Black spot

Saw others have had the same issue.. and tried the "solutions"
Black spot in same location on every picture / live preview of the image on the camera mode.
tired cleaning the lens, does not work. Guess its a hardware problem/ faulty lens?
need a bit of info before i go back to Virgin to get a new hand set

I just had the same issue appear on my Nokia N8. I looked back in my pictures and it started about two hours ago based on pictures I'd taken (I take a lot!).
Anyway I searched for the solutions you had referred to and found ones saying a shake of the phone resolves the problem. I tried but to no avail, I still had a dark spot. I read further about explanation of dust or micro-organism (and how this should not be possible as they units are sealed airtight in the factory) and decided that I would knock the phone against my hand (more forgiving than a wall or table) to see if this helped. Lo and behold the dark spot disappeared!
It is worrying that there may be something falling around in front of the lens of my camera and just hope it does not reappear soon....

  • MacBook Pros and the case getting black spots?

My old PB17 had all sorts of problems with the area around the keypad starting to get "black spots" after a few months of use.
I got the case replaced once because I complained about it, and then put a pad-thingie around the trackpad, where I rest my palms. So it is pristeen right now and for when I sell or give away the old one.
Now that my new MacBook Pro has I arrived I was wondering: these cases looks the same as the old PB - so do they have the same "black holes in the aluminum" problem?
    doug

Yup, MacBook Pro's are affected by this. Mine is having quite the significant problem with these little speckles.

  • Black spot on my iPhone 3Gs Camera

Even though outer hardware looks completely damage less, the Camera is showing small black spot and it's also showing up on the picture i take with it.
It just simply dosen't go away,
I been to everywhere and they all come with same answer; "go to apple"
I wondering if apple will exchange this right away with out a hassle.
Anyone had same problem? what do you do about it?

I´ve noticed the same think as you. On my camscreen I´ve got a crocked line.
Didn´t have that black line before, so I´ve thought it was a minor bump that caused this to happend.
So... hmm... If a bump on the cam side of the phone could cause this, a new
bump on the same side would fix it again?
Down to business: smack! right on my knee twice, and look: the black spot in
the cam app is now gone!
Think I should go to the store and let them have a look at it.
But wait for weeks for a replaced/fixed one? Don´t think so.
So if you dare: Try slapp your baby once or twice on the lense side corner.
    Worked for me!
