There are 3, not 2 options, you have seen the hard way, here's the easy way.
If you have an Office 2011 DVD (not CD) just download the software from Microsoft and when asked enter the activation key from the box your copy of Office came in.
No need to mess with drives, external or in another Mac.

Yes, you have to update the iPod in order to retore from backup. The iOS on the "new" has to be aequal to r greater than on the iPod from which the backup was made. The iOS downloads are unique to an iDevice and model (the one for a 3G iPod will not work for a 4G iPod).

Don't migrate wirelessly unless you have a very fast wireless connection. Anything other than 5 GHz 802.11n is likely to take an unacceptable amount of time. -

But, frankly, I don't think that simply reinstalling the old Safari will work because of all the peripheral, under the hood changes that happen when you upgrade from one version of Safari to another. Reinstalling 5.1.10 may be insufficient to turn back the clock. (This is the moment where a Time Machine or another form of full backup would save your bacon.)
While you're getting a copy of Safari 5.1.10, get a copy of Firefox (https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/desktop/), too, so that you have an alternate browser to use as you're sorting matters. -
I have lost the remote that was paired. I bought another remote, but the procedure to pair the new one does not work. I suspect the the AT will work with only one remote at-a-time and i have to unpair the first before pairing the second. If this is true, how do I unpair? If not, what can I do?

I use a Imac with OS 10.6.7. I've just uploaded Firefox 4. I had Firefox 3 already but do not use it often. I've been using Safari. I imported bookmarks from Safari to Firefox, but the bookmarks bar in Firefox did not change to match that of Safari, and that's where the important bookmarks are. Any ideas?
Also, I can't find where to choose Firefox as my default browser.Copy the files from the old Profile into the new Profile, replacing the existing files that are in the new Profile. That will make your new installation just like the old one.
Or if you just want your bookmarks, copy only the '''places.sqlite''' file from the old Profile into the new Profile. -
Migrating gfilm plug-ins from my old imac to the new one
when i try to drag the gfilm plug-ins from my old hd to my new one, i get "plug-ins folder cannot be modified".
is there a way for me to enable the folder to be modified so that the plug-ins are available to me when working in fcp5?At that point you should get an AUTHENTICATE option...it will say AUTHENTICATE and OK.

All I want is to use some of my files on my new one.I don't want to transfer ALL my files,just some,like pictures. But only the once I need. Not all of them.
I have a FireWire cable,don't work, I have ethernet cable,don't work.

System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.
For 10.5/10.6, System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...

I am going to purchse a new 27in iMac. I have a 21 inch single core intel chip iMac purchased in 2006. I want to transfer my music from iTunes (3600 songs) and my photos from iPhoto (28000). Can this be done without using an external hard drive? I backed up all my songs from iTunes but I have yet to understand how they show up on the hard drive. Just purchased a office jet 6500A Plus so that I can print from my iPhone and iPad. I can print form my iPhone but my iPad 2 tells me there is no air printer available. Why does one device recognize the air printer but the other device does not?
I have the 6500A without plus and it is with a LAN cable connected with my Router.
First make sure you have the latest printer firmware installed.
Next restart the printer and the Router.

I have an Ipod touch and recently added new music to my Itunes library. When I sync with the library, the new music does not show up on my ipod. The sync process seems to be working and there is still plenty of space on the Ipod for new music so I'm not sure what the problem is!

Do the songs play in iTunes?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

I have just bought a Macbook Pro and sync data from my old version onto the new one...However when I tried opening the mail client...Message window does not appear. The old Macbook Pro I was using used Snow Leopard. Now with the new it is a Lion. Toruble now when I click onto new message window I have the spinning icon which show it is trying to load. However it fails and Im left with having to Force Quit it. How can I resolve this problem
