I have a cd with scans of a document. How do I convert to a pdf document?

I want to convert the contents of a cd to a pdf document. I am new to this and the first time I have attempted this. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Maybe the problem you are having with the multiple files option is that you are not changing the file type box to see all, only looking at the default PDF files. Change the file type to all or (*.*) and then look for the files. Select them all (ctrl key allows you to select them each as you hold the key, or shift key allows you to select a range of files) and then complete the conversion. You may have to reorder the pages with the pages tab.

How to export your PDF file to Word file:
1.Log into https://exportpdf.acrobat.com/signin.html with your Adobe ID and password
2. Select "Export from PDF' from right pane
3. Click "Select Files" button then choose your PDF file for exporting to Word file
4. Select a format like docx or doc for Word file
5. Check On for "Recognize scanned text in" if your PDF file contains scanned images
6. Click "Export" button
7. Download the Word file by clicking "Download" in the progress bar
8. Open the Word file in Microsoft Word for editing.
Or you can export your PDF file in Adobe Reader
1. Launch Adobe Reader and open your PDF file
2. Select "Tools" and click "Sign In" link to sign in with your Adobe ID and password
3. Select "Export PDF"
4. Click "Convert" button
5. Click "Download Converted File" link to download the exported Word file to your computer.

- You can import the move to your computer and then do what you want to do with it.

- Transfer the the movie to DropBox or similar cloud serve and then distribute how you wish.

Rar is not zip so you need a unrar utility to expand it. The one above is one example of many. If you follow that link you will see a "Related Software" section on that page that lists a bunch more.
FWIW, my current favorite is UnRarX.
There's also the unrar cammand if you need to do it from the terminal (or script).

What songs are they ? If it's the U2 Songs of Innocence album then that was given free to everyone a couple of months ago - you can remove it from your account if you don't want it : http://itunes.com/soi-remove
But the cloud icon means that those songs are in the cloud, not on your phone. You can turn off the showing of all cloud music via Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Music (under the 'show all' heading) 'off'. Reader doesn’t create pdf files. You can use Acrobat (ask in that forum) to create pdfs. You can subscribe to the Adobe PDF Pack which has a create pdf functionality (please ask in that forum), or you can use a third party utility such as ghostscript, cutepdf, or Microsoft’s own PDF creation capability. For third party pdf creation you will need to ask in a forum dedicated to that software as fellow users of Reader are unlikely to have the knowledge to help.

Best bet might be to try opening them using LibreOffice [free] and save them to .doc.
Do you really want to save them as .pages files? You are jumping from the frypan into the fire. Yet another proprietary format that Apple has again deadended with no working translation.

I'm sorry that your PDF conversion is working. Can you please tell me if you're getting a specific error message? Knowing that can help pinpoint the cause of the conversion failure. However, here are a couple of things that you could try:
Clear your browser cache (steps to do this vary by browser).
If you're using a work computer, check with your IT team to confirm if you have firewall/proxy settings that restrict the ability to upload files to the Internet.
Try another web browser. A list of supported browsers for accessing the ExportPDF service is available here: http://www.adobe.com/acom/systemreqs/.
Also, note that there is a 100MB file size limit, so if your publisher file is larger than that, it won't upload to ExportPDF.

I downloaded open office to my mac to try and save money. It worked well for a while. Now I get this pop-up message that asks me to "Reopen" and when I select the option, nothing happens. I cannot save my documents anymore and I cannot convert them to word. Help!

You have 17 options to save as in Open Office, one of which is .doc files, yes it needs to be saved manually.
You may be able to default to DOC, but have not tried same.
Since Open Office is 99% same as Word, I use it, or Word, either one. Open Office is a bit less buggy than Word 11'
