  • I have one dead pixel in the middle of the screen.

I have 3 issues with my iPad2 at the moment
    1. Bad back-light bleeding around edges. It is kind of big bleed on the right edge and small ones on the left.
    2. One dead pixel in the middle of the screen.
    3. Lots Horizontal lines occured everytime when press sleep button on and off quickly.
What can I do, this is the replaced one that comes in brown box. On of the genius guy say that horizonta lines is normal when LCD screen boots up and as long as it does not effect while you are playing then it should be fine. But my friend dont have this issue so i think it is kind of faulty of the device.
Can I go to genius bar and ask for another replacement?

I went to apple store today and this time one of the staff said they will not replace for dead pixels or screen bleeding. And for the horizontal line issue.. The guy at genius bar said it's normal when LCD screen wakes up from sleep or when it boots up. It's kinda weird I think.

  • Do I have a dead pixel on my ipod touch I can change?

I appeared a dead pixel on my ipod touch 4, still has warranty, but I wonder if this falls under warranty, to see if what I took to fix or change.
I have almost more than 3 months in.

    Maybe. See:

You can always ask for a replacement, but this does not mean that you'll actually get one.
Also, there is no guarantee that your new iPad will be free of faulty pixels.
Any display, no matter from which manufacturer, can have or develop faulty pixels.

  • I have one dead pixel on my iPad Mini, besides sending it back is there anything I could do?

On my iPad Mini screen, since I have bought it, there has been one small black dot in the middle of the screen (I'm presuming a dead pixel because its absolutely always there). And I'm not too bothered about it but if there was something I could do without having to send it back that would be great!
    Thanks
    Ryan

My iPad Mini arrived this morning with a dead pixel. I am going through the exchange process now. Hopefully the next one I recieve will not have this problem. Is this a popular issue?

  • I have a dead pixel on my ipad mini...   What do I do?  Only had it for almost 2 months.

Got my ipad mini on 2/24/2013 everything's great till I saw a dead pixel on the screen.  Is there any solution for me?  Apple should cover it as warranty right?

Please take not that there are approximate 800,000 pixel on an iPad 2.

  • So i have a dead pixel on my rMBP does anyone know if apple will replace it or repair it if i take it to the store?

Its a Late 2013 MBP and its the higher end 16gb ram model
Ive only had it a few months so its under the one year warranty, and it had like 1 or 2 really annoying dead pixels.
Will apple replace it or repair it if i take it in?

You'd better make a reservation of Genius Bar and show them the problem, dead pixels and ask for repair if it's possible.

Does anyone know Nokia's policy on dead pixels? Or should I said it back to the Carfphone Warehouse as I've had it less than a month and also it is insured?

Try the Carphone Warehouse first - see if you can get it replaced... to me, a replacement will always be more favourable to a repaired handset...
If not, see what they suggest... though I'd be inclined to take it to my nearest Nokia Service Centre (www.nokia.com/repair) - some of these Service Centres are in Carphone Warehouses though, so you may be in luck...

  • Already have a dead pixel onscreen.

Less than 24 hours after activation, I was looking at a few photos I took, and noticed a pixel near the center that was showing up green when it should have been black. Looks like I'll be contacting Apple on monday in hopes of replacing my phone.

  • Anyone have an iPod 5G with no dead pixels???

i bought my gf a black one online at apple.ca for her birthday on Oct 27 and then noticed 2 big light blue dead pixels 1 week after we received it. I sent it back after the poor girl only got to use it for 1 week , and guess what it's been over 1 month already, and it's still being processed by Apple!!! Although they said they are replacing it, there's still nothing for her to listen to for over a month! To make the story even more ironic, today we both bought a new white 60gig ipod for her dad for christmas, and i just opened it a few minutes ago to upload some songs for him, and guess what! 1 big blue dead pixel right on the middle left of the screen! Sigh... good thing this time we bought it at the local bestbuy store and got the extended warranty, so we are able to just exchange it right away, instead of waiting, for God knows how long, until Apple sends another one to my girl.
I'm just wondering if every single iPod out there has dead pixels, because it is only noticable when we watch videos on it... but when we do see it, it is really bad and noticeable.
Please, if anyone out there has watched movies on their iPod and don't have any dead pixels, let us know!!!!

thx for your replies guys, that gives me some hope... hopefully i can exchange for another one that won't have this problem. greatly appreciate your helpful comments!

  • Second 27" iMac with dead pixels

I'm intrigued to see how many others have purchased the new 27" iMac's and have managed to get one without any dead pixels.
I am currently on my 2nd 27" iMac and both of them have a dead pixel right in the middle of the screen, first one was black, this second one is red.

i feel half of ur pain! i got the 21.5" on saturday, and it had a red pixel in the middle of it! i am not gonna live with it and will return it today!
btw, is there any dead pixel policy?
It's a fault just like any other type of fault. Your brand new iMac's pixels are all meant to be working. If you receive one where they clearly are not you are right to have it replaced. This is not a PC, it is a top of the range Apple product for which we expect and demand the highest quality. After all, we're paying top dollar (or £) for this level of build and design. Accept nothing less.
Actually, Apple considers one dead pixel 'within spec'.
However, if you've only just bought it, you can choose to return it for any reason within 14 days.

  • Will warranty cover 1 dead pixel and an incredibly annoying screen flicker?

    Problems:
    1) I have 1 dead pixel on my iPod Touch and it's very annoying as it sticks out because the entire screen is black, and there is just this dot of light
    2) I sometimes use my iPod Touch in the dark, so this means that I keep the contrast at the lowest level, as it being too bright hurts my eyes. The problem with this is that the screen flickers between contrasts slightly and it ends up making me feel dizzy.
I've tried turning the auto brightness option to off to prevent the above, but it doesn't make any difference. I've also tried turning the contrast slightly up too, but still it flickers slightly.
    Any advice?
    Thanks

The warranty will cover a dead pixel and the flickering screen. But before we get drastic, let's do some troubleshooting. Try a hard reset by holding the home and sleep/wake button at the same time until the Apple logo appears on screen. Skip the slide to power off screen.

  • Why Apple ship macbook with dead pixel??

I have bought a macbook about two weeks ago... but i notice that one pixel was dead...
I phoned to apple costumer care and they sent to me a new macbook, but also this one have a dead pixel!!
Angry, i phoned again to the apple costumer care but this time they doesn't want to change forgotten that i was in time for a RMA request .
Now i send back this macbook again and i don't know if buy again other macbook until (i go on with RMA request ,shippement costs are paid by apple so i dont lose an euro) i dont have a screen as an Dell notebook of 450 euros give. With no one dead pixel.
Samsung sell their HD ready TV with a warranty over ALL pixels... and Apple dont care about that.
    Shame!
I would like to see Steve Jobs in a keynote presenting iPhone with a little black hole in the screen... as i should do with my clients.

Most manufacturers require a certain number of dead pixels before replacing a screen. I actually believe samsung is the only company to have a 0-dead-pixel-policy.
