The first thing check with the Dell printer Support Site with the printer specific Model.
If it display's any software for the Mac OS X, Download it from the www.dell.com/support .
If the Dell printer does not have software on Dell site itself.
It means the specific Dell Printer does not support Apple Mac OS X.
In Apple some specific Dell printers are not supported by Apple.
OR
Try Searching for software in Apple Downloads from from Apple site.

Lion is usually installed through the App Store not through iTunes. There is no Lion CD. If you need to perform activities normally requiring an installer DVD, then you do it as follows:
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
This will boot the Recovery HD and present a main menu of options such as Reinstall Lion, Restore a Time Machine backup, and run Disk Utility to repair the hard drive. There are additional options in the Utilities menubar item.

When I try to add the printer Dell is not among the list of the printers to choose from. Is there a way to make this printer compatible with my PowerBook. I'd rather not buy another new printer if I don't have to. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

There are no Mac drivers for most of the cheaper Dell printers and therefore you will not be able to use this printer with your PowerBook.
You can print your Mac files to PDF, copy them to the PC and print them from the PC.
Or
Get a new printer which will work with Macs and PCs.

How can i configure DAQ card other then NI using MAX

I am using Advantech DAQ pci1711, can i configure this card using NI MAX. I am getting problem with its port specification while writing VI's because could get channel port addresses.

MAX can only configure cards that use the Traditional NI DAQ and DAQmx. Advantech uses their own drivers. Does Advantech have a utility for setting up their PCI cards?

How can I reformat my Mac Book Pro without using disc utility? My laptop keeps crashing, and needs to have everything reinstalled, but disc utility will no longer open, saying it 'quit unexpectedly'. I'm running Mac OS X10.6.8. I've lost install CD.

My laptop keeps crashing. This seems to happen only when it's streaming from sites such as Netflix, YouTube or Spotify.
Also, it stopped being able to run iTunes, and can't download Yosemite.
I want to wipe it and reinstall everything - I've already done a full back up.
The problem is disc utility will no longer open, saying it 'quit unexpectedly':

Even if you could open Disk Utility you can't reformat a disk while you are booted from it. You will have to use the install CD. Ring the Apple Online Store at the number given at bottom left of this page and give them the serial number of your Mac. You should be able to get the Snow Leopard install disks for a nominal fee.

Seems that you have to update Logic to the latest version (9.0.15) to get it to work in Lion.

IMHO I think that the vast majority of the time most reformats are a simple waste of time.

It would help to know which plugin you're using, but in general: ftp preset includes 'Protocol' which can be FTP or SFTP.
I *think* SFTP will use TLS if possible.
Whether it actually uses TLS vs SSL2... - I dunno: I suspect it will use TLS if supported on server, then down-shift to reglar SSL if need be, but I'm guessing. If you need to assure that only TLS is used (no down-shifting), you'll need some input from somebody else in the know - consider asking question direct to adobe:

How can i get mynew mac mini to use the drive in my old mac pro

When I first got my new mac mini it dosen't have an internal drive. So I hooked it up on the network and fire wire. I could use the superdrive in the mac pro just fine both itunes and the dvd player worked as they would with a internal drive. But now a couple of upgrade down loads later not so much. yes I can connect with screen share and can get the dvd player to play dvd's but still can't get itunes to use the superdrive. Iht exect disk icon in the apple menue bar use to open and close the super drive but now it reads "no disk" How can I get my mac mini to automaticly use the superdrive when i turn on the mac pro.
I've done all the easy things changing the order of start up and share settings and i sware it did work ok when i first hooked it up.

Mind you, booting off the external optical drive of another computer may not be practical because of the different operating system limitations of the computers. I would just purchase an external optical drive from http://www.macsales.com/ if you find it doesn't work.
