I have a different Apple ID but I have the same credit card thing as my dad's Apple ID. Is there a way to download the music and apps I bought on his account without buying them again on my Apple ID?
I used to have the same Apple ID on my phone as my dad. I got a new iphone today and i wanted to have my own apple account. So i got one and used the same credit card as the one i used before. I bought a lot of songs and apps but now when i type it in it says i never purchased it since its a different Apple ID. Is there a way i can download them onto my phone again? please help ;-;
Sorry... Apple IDs cannot be merged...
I have multiple Apple IDs. Is there a way for me to merge them into a single Apple ID?
Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

Can I use iPhone apps. On my new iPad without buying them again?
Can I use iPhone apps. On my new iPad without buying them again?
Yes you can (unless they are apps that require the iPhone's full phone capability - I have some apps on my iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch
If they are designed just for the iPhone/iPod Touch then they will just take up that sized portion of the screen. There will be a '2x' button on the screen, but that effectively just doubles the size of each pixel in both directions, so it may then appear pixelated. -
I had an old ipod touch. I got a new one. I still have all of the music and apps on my itunes but I cannot sync it to my new ipod.
Are you sure you have iTunes set up to synch to your new iPod? The reason I ask is that by default, iTunes will not automatically synch to a new device. You have to go to the Apps tab and click Synch Apps, and do the same for Music, PodCasts, and so on....

How to authorize songs under new account without buying them again?
Okay, so for the past five years, I've been using my dad's account to buy iTunes. It sounds great in theory but now I'm in college and I live in a different city and I wanted to have my own account instead of using my dad's account for the rest of my life. Only it turns out that even if you've spent almost $1,000 in the iTunes store over the course of your life, Apple couldn't care less and they want you to buy all of those songs all over again.
People have suggested authorizing my dad's account on my computer and that does solve the initial problem but at the same time, it makes having my own account kind of moot. I've tried downloading the songs to a disc and reimporting them with no luck, it still wants authorization. But the point is, I want my own account where the songs only need my authorization, not my dad's authorization which was the whole point in the first place. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? Or will I have to keep using my dad's account until I'm old? Or will I have to buy over 1,000 songs all over again? But can I change the ID itself? Like right now it's (this is just an example) [email protected] but could I change it to [email protected]
Yes. Go here -> https://myinfo.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyInfo
Your Apple ID does not have to be an email address either.
Note that the previously purchased songs will still show the old Apple ID as the account they were purchased on but you will use the new info to authorize them.
Right click - get info on one of the purchases to see the AppleID it was purchased with. This cannot be changed because the info is embedded in the song file itself. -
My wife and I both have iPhones and we share an apple ID. Is there a way to put both our contact list in the same iCloud without merging the lists. We want to be able to use the same iCloud account because we share info .
Welcome to the Apple community.
No, there is no way of maintaining two separate contact lists with one account. Ideally you should each have your own iCloud account, you can still share your info by allowing each other to log into the other's account as a secondary account at settings >mail, contact, calendars. You can choose which services you choose to share and which you don't. This way you could maintain separate contact lists but still share them. -
My old computer broke and I lost all my music. I have now purchased a new computer and downloaded all my music again through the store but can not figure how to download my ringtones again. How do you download your ringtones again without buying them again??? Thankyou in advance
You cannot redownload ringtones.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion. Have you failed to do this? -
I have purchased two separate audio books and they just skip around and wont play all the way thru. how do i redownload them without buying them again?

My daughter has been using my iTunes account to buy music and apps. I now want to set up a separate iTunes account for her, with a different login. How can we transfer the music and apps she has already bought to her new iTunes account?
Hello, thank you for your prompt answer. I did have an idea that Home sharing might be the answer but could not quite figure out how to do it. I have enabled home sharing in my iTunes account, put in username and password, clicked on creat etc. But the homs sharing icon doew not appear in the left side of iTunes. So I got stuck. Any further ideas?

How do I share in the music and apps that my children have purchased, but maintain my own identity?
You don't. Everythng downloaded with one Apple ID can not be transfered to another Apple ID. So you would need to buy it a second time. This is one of the Pit Falls of the whole Download only model.
That is why I refuse to buy things like music or movies that are tied to a specific User Name, ID. -
i have just updated to the newest version of ipod softare, the ipod intalled new software but now all the music and videos on it will not play, how do i fix this
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and videos and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device. -
I bought an iphone 4. I have a MacBook Core Duo running 10.4. My husband has a Core Duo 2 running 10.5.8. Is there a way to move my ical and address book info. to his computer so I can sync with my new iphone without upgrading software.
Hello hbell,
is there any reason that you do not want
to upgrade to v10.5.? Suggest you call
1-800-275-2273 Apple Support. Automated call
yet if you call back you can get in touch with an
Apple Software Specialist. They may be able to ship
you Leopard so that you can synch your new iPhone
to you own computer. Have the serial numbers of your
Mac and iPhone written down and ready for them.
As far as transferring data to your husbands MacBook
so that you can sync your iPhone on it I am really not
sure. Seems like a lot of trouble to get your data onto
your iPhone.
Good Luck,
