Connect the iPod to the computer she syncs her iPod with. Then restore the iPod via iTunes. If iTunes asks for the passcode and you can't enter the passcode, place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore. For recovery mode:

I just bought my 10 year old autistic daughter an IPOD touch that she needs to take to school with just the music (no apps) on it but she also also has an IPAD mini for home that is fullly loaded with apps. - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem

- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

I am a little confused, you are posting in an iMac forum however your profile only indicates you have a MacPro. While I agree a SMC reset may help please carefully read the link The hatter provided because different Mac's have a different processes for resetting the SMC.
In the mean time you may want to update your profile (Your Stuff in upper right and click Profile) and also please post in the correct forum to avoid confusion. -
I have music on iPod touch that isn't listed in iTunes, can't seem to "manage" the content
Sheesh. I know it's supposed to be simple & intuitive, but I can't quite figure some things out. Now, I may have reloaded iTunes since I had to rebuild my PC. Fortunately, my library of music - mainly from CDs - was saved on a backup.
1. I have some music that isn't quite listed in iTunes
Creedence Clearwater Revival album Chronicle Volume 1 also shows up as Chronicle, Vol.1 on the iPod
but it shows up only as Chronicle, Vol. 1 in my Music Library. How did it duplicate itself and how do I get rid of the duplicates?
note that these duplicates do not appear in iTunes, so clicking on Display Duplicates does not find them.
2. I cannot remove the rogue versions of songs either directly from the iPod or from iTunes
3. I cannot adjust the columns or sort order when viewing my iPod's Music in iTunes
4. Sync is not checked for any of the categories in iTunes
if I check the Sync box for music, it states it will wipe out my music and replace it with my library. My whole library won't fit on my 8 GB iPod. How do I pick and choose what goes to the iPod. Do I really need to wipe out the contents of my iPod first?
5. Last question - Can I assign the album art that was ripped from my CDs to the albums/songs imported from My Music in Windows to iTunes?
So I'm a bit frustrated but very open to solutions. My iPod touch is maxed out and I want to adjust what content - pictures, apps, music & playlists only - gets loaded on the iPod.
Help! Help! Thanks!!- From your description you did something to iTunes on the computer such that the iPod sees ythe iTunes library as a new library. That is why you are getting the message about erasing when you try to sync. Yu can, as you are doing, managing music with the computer since you can do that among different conputer. See:

- If all music, apps, sysnced photos are on the computer you need to:
--- Make a backup of the iPod by connecting the iPod to the computer and right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and selecing Backup and then restore the iPod from that backup.
- You can transfer iTunes purchases to the computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
- You can transfer non-iTunes purchaed music by using one of the third-party programs discussed here. Some of those may also do synced photos.

I have two 2nd generation iPod touch's and both just stopped turning on, they don't respond to anything. I've tried everything I know of (hard resets,soft resets,pluging them to a wall charger and computer) and still haven't made any progress. Does anyone have any more suggestions for me ??
Thanks for your help.Seeing that your iPod has been through a lot of rough handling, there is a chance that it is at the end of its life. I recommend taking it in to an Apple Store and getting it looked at.

I started with the NI knowledge base article on the subject and looked into my "Sounds" control panel and found that I did not have a "Default sound" event at all! I checked another PC and it did have this event, so on that second PC I searched the registry, found where "default sound" existed in it and exported that section of the resistry. I then compared that exported section with the registry on the machine that did not have the event and determined the differences, created a ".reg" file to correct the machine and merged it into the registry. Now it too has a "Default Sounds" event and the "beep.vi" works.

Are you wanting them to have access to your account so they can purchase items using your credit card? Or do you want them "sharing" your account for some other reason?
