I have a DVD from The Best of Adobe Photoshop Elements, which requires Firefox 3.+ to opperate. I have down loaded Firefox 3.6, can get on lime but disc will not operate??
I was able to run the disc previously, a message came on to upgrade, I did and haven't been able to run since. I've installed Firefox 3.6b but can't get disc to operate. Message I now receive says to install 3.+, but not how.

Ok, let me try to explain step-by-step:
#The bookmarks are '''not''' in HTML file. This is OK. Firefox does not store the bookmarks in HTML format.
#Even if you boot the old Firefox, it will show the new bookmarks. This is also OK. You can't really do much about that.
#Uninstalling and re-installing Firefox will '''not''' solve your problem. Firefox will '''not''' see the bookmarks in the external hard drive. Please '''do not''' try this approach.
Now, to make things as simple as possible, let's try to bring all of your old bookmarks and settings into the new computer.
#Make sure that you have closed Firefox completely. This can be done by selecting '''File''' menu and then clicking on '''Exit'''.
#You said you were able to locate the Profile folder on the '''external hard drive''', right? Just to confirm, the name of this folder is something like xxxxxxxx.default (for example, my Profile folder is named 9qnmvkea.default. Yours will be something similar).

Thanks for Helping me .I would suggest a machine with a multi-core processor and plenty of storage as photo files take up quite a lot of room over time. Many laptops have a screen resolution of 1366 x 768 and whilst elements will run OK some menu functionality will be missing if the display is not at least 800 pixels in height. A resolution of 1600 x 900 would be much better.
Independent advice is best, such as Which, UK. You can get a trial membership for as little as £1 to access their recommendations.

Ya, okay ! I use a number of PSE programs, one of which is PSE 9. The tools for some reason seem to have frozen. When I use the move tool I don't get just one hand but 3 hand symbols all next to each other. Same thing with the crop tool, I don't get one symbol but 3 all next to each other. There are a couple of tools that just don't work at all. It's like the PSE 9 got hit with some virus or sorts. Oh well, live and learn. Trying to get through to tech service is next to impossible.
Have you seen this other thread you started about this problem?

Photoshop Elements 9 is messed up.
The tools on Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 seemed to have frozen. The crop symbol is 3 of the symbols nest to each other. The hand move tool is not one hand but 3 next to each other. Other tools won't work at all. Really nice! -
I use my mac book to dj. however, i tend to get the beach ball alot. is this due to lack of memory or is it something else. ive been thinking about getting more memory but i am not sure what the issue is...i would like some advice before i go and buy more memory if it is not needed... i also do not keep my music on my lap top
Okay, so we've eliminated the lack of space since you have plenty.

Page ins and page outs - post those (or just post the same type of screenshot). If you have a lot of those, that means that your machine needs to keep swapping RAM around to make the best of what is available which can result in slow responses.
Also post the total amount of RAM you have (in my case, I have 12 GB)
You free RAM of 221 MB is very, very low - I'm guessing you only have a total of 2 GB. If that is the case, I would absolutely max out the machine (if you don't know how much RAM you can put in, post your model number here so we can help with that). -

Trying to put together slideshow for present to teacher from class. Using Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0. Would like to use some songs purchased from I-Tunes and some that I have added to my I-pod from personal CD collection. Having trouble adding them to the "audio" section of the slideshow. Any easy suggestions?

Where is the help in Adobe Photoshop Elements 13?
I've just purchased Adobe Photshop Elements 13 but can't find any proper Help. When I click on Help on the File menu, I am taken to a web page (Photoshop Elements Help | Photoshop Elements Help). It doesn't matter what I am doing (e.g. using the clone tool or trying to apply kerning for example), I always end up on this same non-context-sensitive web page. I am an experienced user of graphics software but am new to Photoshop Elements.
I'm trying to kern some text characters so I entered "kerning" in the Search field. The first "hit" was InDesign Help | Kerning and tracking but nothing they say seems to apply to my particular version of Photoshop Elemts - whcih being V13 is hopefully the latest. And who are they? Are they an official voice for Adobe? Their "help" was way off.
Could someone point me to the Help for Adobe Photoshop Elements 13?
As an aside, why does Adobe hit one with a 27 page legal agreement before one can install the software? I confess I didn't have my lawyer with me and may not have read all 27 pages.sirram69 wrote:

I don't believe that you can kern in PSE as it comes out of the box. However, there is a very affordable add-on which allows one to do this. It is version specific.

BTW, Elements 13 itself is really good. I'm really pleased with its features and ease of use. It would just be nice to locate the relevant help more easily.
There are available several books which augment the native help files. Photoshop Elements - The Missing Manual - by Barbara Brundage is excellent. I have no commercial connection to the author or to the publisher. Don't hesitate to come here to the forum for help. There are many talented contributors. We look forward to your progress. -
Am signed in to Adobe and trying to edit a form. Can pull up form but it will not allow me to edit the form. What am I doing wrong?
To elaborate on what Sukrit posted, it is likely that the form is not an Acrobat forum but a Designer form or was set for distribution and is locked for editing. I suspect it was probably created in Designer and thus can only be completed in Acrobat or Reader since the PDF is really container for and XML structure and does not have the basics of a PDF document. If that is the case, you either need Designer or you can print to a new PDF and use the field recognition feature of Acrobat to recreate the form. Of course, the latter will require some editing to the form fields in most cases.

Yes, any version of PSE qualifies for upgrade pricing, but if you're in the US you might want to consider running the trial for now and waiting for the black friday specials, when the full version will be a lot less than the adobe upgrade price.

How do I open up a .7z file just over 1gb in size? I have just downloaded this as an upgrade from Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 to version 12. I cannot see any sign of the Akamai program on my computer that is supposed to open and install the two files that I downloaded.

I don’t mind mountain climbing but anything serious to do with a computer scares me silly.
I installed the 64 bit version of 7zip and once I figured out how to tell the computer to use the right application within that to open the 7zip file, the big file opened and I was able to apply the .exe file to get things going and installed. In the end the default location the installation chose was program files x86 which I think is the 32 bit folder but it all seems to be ok now.
