I have a family of 5 with 3 ipods an ipad and two iphones should we use separate apple id's ?

I have 3 children with ipods and my wife an i have iphone as well as ipads. Should i use the same Apple ID for everyone so i can manage their accounts or will all accounts then have all my apps and contact or vice versa?

My opinion would be that it is likely not the ISP, unless you have complete loss of Internet service for all devices at the same time......it is the Comtrend device....

Whose Apple ID are you using? It sounds like whoever co-opted the account may have changed the security questions as well.

I have a real huge gripe with iPod for iPad

I have a big music library which spans many genres and many artists in each genre. What I loved about the iPod app on the iPhone is that when I picked a genre it would take me to a list of artists that are under that genre. Which is great because if I'm in the mood to listen to a certain genre, I can pick genre then get a list of artists to pick from.
Now with the iPod app on the iPad, I pick genre at the bottom, then select let's say "Reggae", it just opens up a small box with every single song. Doesn't list the artists, it just jumbles up every song for every artist in that genre in one messy pile. What the **** happened to the option of selecting which artist from the genre list? It's really really annoying me. Is there some option I'm missing? Cause this is real horrible for me in playing the music I want.
Apple, I really hope you do fix this in the next update, at least give us the option to change it in the general settings. Again, am I missing something here?

I agree that the iPod and Video player app for the iPad is seriously flawed.
Does not play Music videos in sequence, does not sort by Artist in Video player, and all kinds of other problems that the iPhone and iPod Touch do not have.
The iPad definitely feels like a version 1.0 product in this area, but oh well, that is the price you pay for being an early adopter.
I knew that going in, but just unfortunate that my main app that was important to me is the one with the most flaws.

Hi there. We have two iphone 3gs' and an Ipad 2 all operate on IOS 5 but one of the iphones syncs on another computer. The other two sync on our other computer. Those two will only play internet radio for a short time and then they stop playing the program while our third will play all the way through and we can always get back to the program. Here's how to do it.
1. App Store, iTunes Store should have the same AppleID on Computer and iPhones. (Free to share apps, music and books... )
2. Person A uses the same purchasing account for everything (ie. email, contacts and ...).
3. Person B have the same purchase account see no. 1 (for App Store and iTunes Store) but create a second AppleID for iCal, e-mail, contacts and etc.

I'm using KDE 4, and I've just installed JACK again, and since I can't find any decent documentation on this, I'm having a bit of a problem.
Currently I have jack from [extra] installed, rather than jack2. When I try starting jack as the ArchWiki suggests, i.e. by typing "jackd -d alsa", I get the following error:

I've also tried jack2 from [community], and after starting it with "jack_control start", I get this...

So how do I start it? I'm guessing jack doesn't want to start because some other KDE application grabbed alsa before jackd (but I've been wrong before), and I don't have the slightest idea what jack2 is about with that "generic" error. If anyone would help me shed some light on this, I'd appreciate it a lot.

Yes, it was knotify4. So now this part works. I've switched to jack2 and it works flawlessly when starting it with jackd
So this part is solved... now, would you be so kind (if you know) as to point me to some tutorials or howtos (or proper documentation, cos I can't find much of that either) on how to connect various ALSA channels with JACK?
Basically, I want to route my PCM channel and the Mic channel into Capture 1 (or one to Capture 1 and other to Capture 2), since my Intel HDA audio card doesn't have the "Mix" or "What-U-Hear" or whatever as an available capture source. Any leads on that? (or do I have to open another thread for it?)

HT204053 I have 5 apple devices (3 iPads and 1 iPhone 3 and 1 iPhone 4s). They are all registered to the same Apple ID but used by different people in my family. If one of us gets a new ID, does that mean we can't access purchases already made?

Help appreciated.... Bascially 2 of the devices (an IPad and the iPhone 3) are used by me and the others by my wife, son and daughter. They all sync to the same iTunes library so I am thinking that if the other 3 get their own apple IDs, they will not be able to access the existing library.
Please note that though a fan of apple stuff, I am utterely useless at using them so I am sorry if my question is naieve or ill informed!

You can all have independent AppleIDs for iCloud or iMessage etc, but share the same one for iTunes Store / AppStore purchases.

Yes but the iPhone chargers will struggle to charge the iPads ,they need more power than the iPhone chargers produce and with an iPad will charge VERY slowly
The iPad chargers whether 10w or 12 will happily charge all your devices and Apple confirms the compatibility on the relevant web page.

Go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Settings. Then setup the iPod with your account.
If necessary, place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.

Even more details:
If I send a message to the Jane Doe address from another account on this machine (all my family uses the same email services provider and each have accounts set up on this machine), when you open it, it shows Jane Doe then the <applejax.xx> address AND the picture associated with the Apple Jax account.
So the problem shows up when the message is sent to this account from this machine, AND when it is sent from this machine from this account. No other accounts on the machine are effected.
I have sent and received email messages from the mail service provider's website, and everything is fine.

If any of you are like me, I had one single AppleID under MobileMe. Under my AppleID I had two additional Email addresses, one for my wife and one for her Mother. Each used their individual email accounts on their login on the home Mac and on their individual Iphones.
In order for them to not lose their email acounts when mobileMe goes away and/or you move your appleID acount from MobileMe to iCloud, you simply need to beaware of the folowing. Have each person with an email address under your AppleID MobileMe go to www.me.com; enter their email account and password in the corresponding fields. However, don't press the login button. Instead press the sentence under the login fields that says something to the effect of "do you want to move/migrate to iCloud. Follow the prompts from there.
In essence what Apple has done--albeit not communicated anywhere--is that they automatically created AppleIDs for each of those additonal email addresses you have/had under MobileMe. Therefore, use that email and password after moving from MobileMe to iCloud and your good to go.
