I have a few scratches on my iPod touch 4th gen screen and it really bothers me and I need a way to fix it without replacing the screen or causing further damage
Hey Pandorafromtn, Not to rub salt in you open wounds, but prevention would have cost less than $10! Anything that will remove the scratches will most likely ruin the screen. I am aware of a product that works well for fill scratches in eyeglasses. It paints on, is kind of milky semi-transparent then drys to a haze. You then rub / polish until clear. Will it damage the coating on an iPod screen? I don't know. But may be for not, I can't remember the name of the stuff. I guess contact a eye care center, they may be able to help. Replacing the screen would be the best option you have or learn to live with it. In the future use a case and/or screen protector. Or you could start working on your incantations, "Oculus Repairus!" Don't forget the flick of the wrist to get your wand in the correct angle as you state "Repairus". All joking aside, Good luck. Cheers.

Hello I have just purchased a 2nd hand Ipod touch 4th Gen, I cannot seem to delete the Apple ID in the message settings of the previous owner?
Go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Settings. Then setup the iPod with your account.
If necessary, place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If I replace my Ipod touch 4th gen screen with a local company other then Apple will the Apple warrenty be void or will the warrenty be void if I replace the screen myself?
Regardless of what Apple may or may not say about repair work done by a third party (a non-Apple company or you yourself), the Magnuson-Moss Act precludes them from voiding your warranty simply because you had work done by a third party or used non-OEM parts. Typically people hear of thie Act as it is applied to cars. Car manufacturers cannot require you go to a dealership for repairs or that you use OEM parts. They cannot void your warranty for doing that. The Act applies to all consumer goods. Computer manufacturers cannot require you send your computer to them for memory upgrades or that you use memory supplied by them. Apple cannot require you to go to Apple for repair work or that you use Apple parts in that repair.
With that said, though, if you have a problem in the future, Apple could make the claim that it was the result of damage from improper repair or substandard parts. Your only recourse would be the court system, not a quick or inexpensive endeavor. -
My iPod touch 4th gen crashes and restarts every time I try to edit a photo. Why is this happening and is there any way to fix it? It's not jailbroken, so I guess it's not malware

Ipod touch 4th gen. screen is white
We were editing photos on ipod touch 4th gen. screen turned white. Turned it off and back on and it said no photos and videos were found. Turned it off and back on again and it says it needs to be restored. Don't know what has happened. Why would it wipe out photos and videos? Can I get around restoring it?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. -
I have two sons with ipod touch 4th gen. One has access to our wifi, the other does not. Any ideas????
Try manually entering/searching for your wifi access point under the "Other" option. Also, if you have lots of devices connected to your wifi, you may have reached your limit. (e.g. the airport express has a max of 10 while the basestation may have 50. Check your packiging on whatever router you have, may help.)

IPod Touch 4th Gen skipping and popping via USB car stereo...
I have a Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD car stereo and have the iOS 4.2.1 installed on my iPod Touch 4th Gen. Since 4.0.2 my iPod Touch has been flawless with playback. We all know the infamous 4.1 problems with the skipping of music via USB car in-dash car stereos. NOW, with the iOS 4.2.1 there is no skipping whatsoever. However, there is a lot of popping in the playback of my car stereo via USB. I've did a factory restore with iTunes and used some dust remover (air spray container) in the connector on the bottom of the iPod and also used the same dust remover on my USB syncing cable that I use in my car. Does anyone know what the problem may be? Thanks in advance.
I can't help with an answer, but i have noticed the same thing whenever i hook my ipod up to my pioneer 510-ub through the usb...all other mp3s and flashdrives work fine. the pops only occur when the ipod is hooked up.

Ipod Touch 4th gen Screen design
I dropped my ipod touch 4th gen and the screen break instantly.
Its just a half a meter drop and it crack. I went to the service center. They told me that they does not repair the screen but have to buy a new one when my ipod still can listen to Mp3, Play game, surf net using wifi.
Its my fault that I dropped but I think most product in the market which dropped on the floor wont break like how my ipod touch 4th gen didMy son dropped his ipod touch 4th gen of the couch and less than 30 cm fall landed on cd case which was cushioned by carpet. Screen crack resulting. I am considering taking apple to the small claims tribunal in Victoria as I believe the product doesn't meet its basic intended purpose of being portable. With such a fragile screen caution should be used at all times. A safety screen should be provided with the product when sold as it is really of poor quality and is very fragile. I am not anti apple and up until this product they have been a fantastic product. In our family we have a ipad, two iphones and three other ipods. My first nano is still kicking strong. All these items have had occassional drops and normal wear and tear subjected too be portable. Look lets be honest if my son dropped on concrete or threw against the wall fair enough one would expect it to break. But a 30 cm fall on a plastic cd case this product breaks easier that an egg shell. It is a pathetic design for something that should be portable. I have not got 140 dollars to fork out on another ipod touch when it will break again if it is sneeezed on.

IPod Touch 4th Gen Screen Twitch/Multitouch screen fail
iPod Touch 4th Generation screen stops registering my finger strokes after moderate use. Notice it first when scrolling left/right on home page, hold finger in one spot and the icons start twitching. Then I try to use the keyboard and all the keys start firing off as I hold my finger down in one spot.
Often happens when I'm away from my computer, the only thing that helps is syncing with iTunes 10.1. Hard reset/turn off does not change the problem.
The problem most often occurs when the iPod is charging via USB on my Dell Inspiron laptop, or charging from an older 3rd party charger I got free for buying a case for my older iPod Touch 2nd gen. It also happens when plugged in to a Monster car FM modulator made for the original iPod touch.
The problem started with an 8gb I got just 3 weeks ago. I returned it and bought at 32gb which does the same thing.
It is a serious problem which renders the iPod totally unusable for long periods of time.Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $199 for a 64 GB one and $99 for the others. They do not fix yours.

How can I resolve iPod Touch 4th gen charging and iTunes connection issue?
I have an iPod Touch 4th generation and the other day it stopped charging. When I pug it in, it appears to be receiving a minimal charge to keep it alive, but isn't restoring the battery life and doesn't show that the battery is accepting the charge. After plugging it in for a day, the battery was only partially charged to approximately 20%. I've tried several USB cables and different plug-ins to no avail.
Then I tried to connect it to the computer and iTunes doesn't recognize it. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Apple Device Manager and iTunes software, and resetting the iPod. I've also tried holding the sleep and home buttons at the same time while connecting the iPod to the computer with iTunes software open. Nothing seems to work. I have other iPods/iPhones that connect to iTunes without issue, so it is isolated event with this iPod Touch. I was hoping to restore the iPod to its original settings to see if that would do the trick, but am unable to figure out how without iTunes. Any suggestions? help! Not Charge
