I have a first generation iPad and the screen went completely green on me and locked up. I was able to unlock it, but now there's a green haze all over the screen. Anyone know what the issue could be and how I can get it fixed?
Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Out-of-Warranty Service
If you own an iPad that is ineligible for warranty service but is eligible for Out-of-Warranty (OOW) Service, Apple will replace (Apple doesn't repair) your iPad with an iPad that is new or equivalent to new in both performance and reliability for the Out-of-Warranty Service fee listed below. (The replacement will most likely be a refurbished iPad in a brown box, however, it has a new screen, back and battery.)
iPad model
Out-of-Warranty Service Fee
iPad mini
$219
iPad 3rd, 4th generation
$299
iPad 2, iPad
$249
A $6.95 shipping fee will be added if service is arranged through Apple and requires shipping. All fees are in US dollars and are subject to local tax.
Certain damage is ineligible for out-of-warranty service, including catastrophic damage, such as the device separating into multiple pieces, and inoperability caused by unauthorized modifications. However, an iPad that has failed due to contact with liquid may be eligible for out-of-warranty service. See http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=servicefaq&geo=United_States&product=ipad

I have a first generation iPad and got my husband the iPad 2 for xmas. is there a way to transfer his tiny tower game from my iPad to his without using the same iTunes account?
Apps are only tied to one account... You can set up two iTunes accounts on your computer, however, and let his iPad sync to his account. If he has never backed up his apps to a computer, however, he will have to redownload all the apps. Afterwards, he can backup to iCloud instead of your computer.

I have a first generation ipad and find i cannot now run ibooks as i need an earlier version but cannot find any clickable tabs on the ibooks download page that i am directed to ?
You should be able to download a compatible version. If the iBooks app isn't already in your purchase history thet download the current version on your computer's iTunes so that the app is in it. Then on your iPad go to the Purchased tab in the App Store app and see if you can download an older compatible version of it

I have the first generation iPad and bought the apple care protection. Does it cover accidental damage?

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start
with Option #4 and then #1 as needed.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

I have a first generation iPad and I keep getting kicked out of iTunes and iBooks
How do I solve this

IM satisfied with the screen size. I am just wondering if an upgrade is worth it
That is a question only you can answer. I concur with Phil, though. By the iPad Air 2. You obviously keep your devices a long time. So, buy what is currently the newest to insure you can keep using it. The iPad Air (great device) will stop being supported before the iPad Air 2. I have an iPad Air and will not be updating to the Air 2 as the difference isn't worth it to me. -
I have a first generation IPad and it won't let me download unless I update to the new ios system. When I go to do that it won't let me do that either. What advise can you offer? Thanks
Maybe a little more info would be helpful. How are you trying to update the iPad? What model iPad it is and what version of the iOS is on it now?

I have a first-generation ipad. We recently purchased a new laptop (not an Apple) and I had to change my e-mail pasword as I couldn't recall what it was; it auto-populated on the old computer. I changed the password on my ipad and the new laptop (no issues), then a few days later, I couldn't send out any e-mails on my ipad, but could on the laptop. I have been around and around with the e-mail provided, and they cannot help me.
Anyone out there with the same problem?
Thanks. If you had a yahoo or gmail account, we might be able to help you, but Earthlink is the source you need guidance from. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
