I have a frozen Iphone 5 that won't reset after pushing both buttons and Itunes doesn't recognize it.

Thanks for the question. If your iPhone does not respond to a reset, let's troubleshoot to isolate the issue to power/hardware:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
1. Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
2. Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion.
Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
3. Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
4. After at least 15 minutes, if:
               - The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen. Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
               - The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
               - Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
5. If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
               - If the display turns on, go to step 4.
               - If the display remains black, go to next step.
6. Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
7. If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

TS2800 Update to iTunes 11.0.1 now have a frozen iPhone 4S

I have just updated my iTunes program on my Mac to 11.0.1 and have plugged my iPhone 4S to upgrade it but it just shows a picture of the iTunes logo and a 30 pin connector.
The error message on the iTunes account gives "Error 3014"
I have followed all the necessary steps on the Apple site (removed other USB connections, restarted the computer, checked the current program etc.
Still nothing.

I have just closed an re-opened iTunes on my Mac and started the Restore iPhone part again and after approx 3 minutes it tells me that my "iPhone" cannot be restored. An unknown error occured (-1)" All the help on the Apple site seems to indicate that this is a Windows security problem. But I'm on a Mac. I have an iPhone 3GS 16gb and recently while using an app my phone started to lag and I lost service so I turned off my phone. When I tried turning it back on the Apple logo would appear but would just be there for minutes and then the load wheel would appear over the Apple logo, then eventually my phone would turn itself off and try rebooting again. I have tried to plug my phone into my computer but it will not launch and iTunes does not even pick up that my iPhone is plugged in. I cannot even get my phone to fully load and turn on so I can factory reset it. Any suggestions?

I have done a hard reset using the wake/home buttons and it just brings it back to the apple symbol which wont go away. My phone cannot load, like as is fully turn on, or connect with my PC. All out of nowhere. It did this once the other week for about 2 hours and then randomly connected to my PC after being plugged in for 2 hours. right now my phone has been in this cycle of frozen Apple symbol, frozen load wheel, self reset, frozen Apple symbol, frozen load wheel, self reset, etc. for over 50 straight hours. I have let it completely die down and I get the Red Battery symbol showing for my to connect to the power source and when I do it goes right back to the apple symbol cycle. Sound like a software or a hardware issue? I have had my iPhone since Sept, 09, do you think the warranty would cover this?

Your phone has been hacked to make it work where you now live. Thus, updating software or restoring your phone will re-lock it to AT&T. Since AT&T will not unlock an iPhone for anyone for any reason, there is no way to get your phone officially unlocked. If you update software or restore the phone, you will have to hack it again. This will also require the last AT&T sim card that was used in the phone.

Try resetting the device.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
You will not lose any data as a result of the resets.

The apps icon is dim and the word "waiting" or something like that is below. It's like the screen is frozen now. Help!! I can get out of the screen and start over but it leads me to this same point.

Welcome to the Apple community.
Try tapping the app again to restart the download. Downloading from the iTunes Store has been a little problematic of late, but if you keep trying they do eventually download.

Yes it is done through iTunes. The iPhone will never show up in Finder as a device. I would just follow the instructions from this article to give your unused 4s to your spouse. Since you have already started using your 5s, you will still be receiving iMessages on that phone and will have no need to receive them on a device that has been replaced. There are a number of ways to delete pictures from the Camera Roll. One is to open Camera Roll in the thumbnail view, tap the arrow button (top right), tap all the pictures you want to delete, tap the Delete button ant the bottom. Photo Library pictures are deleted by unchecking Sync Photos on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings, followed by syncing your phone.

No, your iPhone and your iPad should not appear in the finder.
I'm not sure what you mean about downloading photos with iPhoto being double handling, but you can download direct to a folder with Image Capture. Image Capture can also be used to delete photos from the Camera Roll on the iPhone or iPad (preferrably after they are downloaded).
You can remove the photos you synced from your phone with iTunes by syncing again with an empty folder, That will delete all the photos that were previously synced that way, replacing them with the contents of the empty folder (that is, nothing). This will not effect photos takes with the camera on your iPhone.

Also, when I tried to Restore the settings, an Error Message pops up that says " The iPhone software update server could not be contacted. The requested resource was not found.
I'm trying to free up space on my phone by removing [literally] thousands of old photos which were originally synched to the phone, because I had forgotten to uncheck the photos button when I synched it ages ago.
I have also tried synching it on my 24" iMac (running OSX Snow Leopard). But again, when I try restoring the phone through itunes, it says the file is corrupted. It sggests unplugging the device, and then plugging it in again. I have done this numerous times with no success.
I'm guessing it must be because my phone (and versions of iTunes, and OSX) are all too old.

Correct. it does not magially appear in other places. It will only be where you put it.

Correct as well. Iphone will sync with one computer at a time. Syncing to another will erase the current content.
You need to copy everything ( itunes library/contacts/pics/calendars/files/docs) from the old computer, or your backup copy of the old one, to the new one.

The banner usually indicates that the memo is "Paused." If you go back into voice memos, touch the word "Done" beside the big red pause button, give it a name, then it will show in a list. Touch the memo in the list then touch the trash can icon that should appear.
