i have a hp officejet j4580 all in one printer. it keeps telling me i have a paper jam. i have looked over the printer dont see any paper in it . when i press the ok button the paper comes out crinkles.

Hp officejet j4580 all-in-one won't print from the internet.

My officejet j4580 all-in-one printer won't print anything I try to print off the internet, nor from microsoft word. I tried reinstalling, but it gets stuck at 94%, and it took almost 3 hours to get to that point. What can I do? My operating system is microsoft vista.

Hi,
Here are a couple of things to try. I would first start with downloading and running the Print Diagnostic Utility. IF this doesn't clear it up, then try the document on Problems printing from the internet.

If you're using the Printer Pro app, you're not going to use AirPrint services.
They are not the same thing.
Are you using the 'Open In' option to get the email into Printer Pro for printing?

Wireless and the HP Officejet J4580 All-in-One

I'd like to know if it's possible to connect an HP Officejet J4580 to a wireless network, and if so, how to go about it.
The documentation provided with my All-in-One indicates it's possible, but refers to a "Wireless Connection Guide", which was not included with my product. The only references I can find to this particular model and wireless connections on the HP website seem to indicate it can only be connected wirelessly to a Mac.
I'm running Windows Vista (32-bit) on an HP Pavilion laptop, with a Linksys WRT54G router. There is one other computer connected to the wireless network (a Gateway PC running Vista 64-bit, if that's relevant).
I watched the video in the stickied thread above, regarding how to connect an All-in-One to a network in Windows XP, but 1) I wasn't given the wireless option during installation (bummer), 2) I'm not really excited about the prospect of installing ALL their fluff software to get this thing working, and 3) I'm not running XP (also kind of a bummer, but whaddyagonnado).
I'd also like to mention that my product didn't come with the USB cable necessary to connect it to my computer. The simple set-up directions imply that this cord was only shipped with the J4680 model, along with the aforementioned "Wireless Connection Guide".
Is this true? Why on earth would HP neglect to include necessary hardware AND neglect to supply an alternative method? That just strikes me as bad customer service.
Any assistance or commiseration you can offer will be appreciated! Thanks for your time!

HP OfficeJet J4580 All-in-one not printing the top of page

My HP OfficeJet J4580 has had many problems in the past, but they always have seemed to work themselves out. Currently the issue is that it cuts off the entire top edge of my paper.
I am a college student and it's mandatory that my format and margins are correct, but the printer is cutting off the header completely and most of the top margin. I have tried everything in my power before posting for help. I have reset the printer, restarted the printer, re-installed the printer, tried to do an alignment sheet, etc. but nothing seems to work. I'm at a loss here and would just like to be able to print things without having to go out and buy a new printer because this printer isn't that old.

@syddie101 I was looking at this printer spec online, and I saw the margin specification. Take a look at this page (in the print margin section). 3mm top margin seems to be quite small for many document headers, but just to check, is your top margin less than 3mm?

If your document top margin is not less than 3mm, are you printing double-sided?

Two years ago I purchased this all-in-one deskjet and for the first year it operated perfectly, both over usb and connected to my Airport wireless router. For the last year, however, I have been unable to get it to print correctly. Although it does print, the page misses multiple lines of printing. What I mean is that, for example, the bottom or top half of an entire line of words will not print, and the problem reoccurs multiple times on the page. It does not appear to occur regularly, and seems to be caused by the the black cartridge only.
Because the printer is no longer under warranty I have attempted to troubleshoot the problem myself. I have replaced both print cartridges with new HP branded media. I have run the clear cartridges utility and have cleaned the cartridge carriage contacts/ cartridge contacts using a Q-Tip with distilled water. I have also removed the black cartridge for two hours and turned it upside down as recommended. The problem does not occur in the copy or fax function - but does occur with wireless and usb-connected printing. The test page prints correctly.

First solution is to do a partial reset.

If this doesn't bring the solution!
perform a re-install of the printer.
if this doesn't help - you could do a re-install with an alterantive driver , of the 990C.
( this driver is standard available in windows software!)
add printer and use/pick the driver of the 990C.

A Gateway 2 wire wireless Modem It is connected to the printer with a USB cable, I bought a GS63M laptop with windows 7 and want to run the printer for the laptop threw the 2 wire wireless modem. The gate way modem has nic 5 cable connections one USB that is connected to the slim line with a cap 5 cable connected to the modem and the slim line for internet, I now want the gs63m to print from the slimeline computer or the wireless gateway 2 wire modem. The wireless modem is a model 2701HG-D 2 wire modem. Please help if you can, I am not to smart about networking but think it should work with the wireless modem, The GS63m computer is new and runs on windows 7 help please it also has wireless network and does connect to the internet, So I can see the Slimline but don't know how to set up the printer or documents or pictures. I did post a result of my test around January this year: We can connect a Network printer using USB to a computer (ie old computer does not have wireless) and still use the printer wirelessly from other computer(s). Print jobs using USB connected have higher priority.

I have a HP officejet J6450 All in one.

I had a paper jam and removed the paper. I tried to turn the printer off before I removed the jam but the printer won't turn off. I reads "Shutting Down" but it just continues to say that and the power button blinks on & off. I tried to print somthing to see it that would help, it wouldn't print, probably because it thinks it is "shutting down" like it says. I don't know what to do next. I even shut the computer down to see if that would do somthing with the printer but it didn't help. Printer still blinking and says "Shuttind Down." HELP

Welcome to the HP Forums! I understand your concerns with your Officejet J6450. Let's try some troubleshooting steps to resolves this issue:
Make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector. This step is mandatory as HP recommends this step, and it could potentially fix your problem.
Next, try Resetting the Printer. Instead, leave the power cord out of the printer for more than 60 seconds.
