I have a HP Officejet Pro 8500A with black line problems

My HP Officejet Pro 8500A has a problem when documents are placed on the automatic feed.  The printed document comes out with a black line down the middle of the new printed document.  Today it has started putting black lines down my printed pictures that come from my computer.  The computer is less than one month old.  HELP!!!

This model has separate ink supplies and printheads.  Ink is required in all the colors to keep the printheads and plumbing from clogging.  See this page for information on how ink is used.

I have an HP Officejet Pro 8500A Premium e-All-in-One Printer - A910n.  I’m trying to set up HP Connect, but every time I create and account it tell me to log in using my Snapfish password.  When I use my “valid” Snapfish password, it comes back asking "invalid password".  How do I correct this?
If I'm not on the correct board, please let me know which one I should use.

Hi. You are on the proper board!  Unfortunately to fix the account mis-match issue you are having you will need to share personal information.  To protect your identify and the security of your account I will private message you with what HP will need in order to get your Snapfish/HP Connected accounts synced up so you can use the web services!

  • I have a HP Officejet Pro 8500A that stopped printing from my HP Pavilion notebook.

I have a HP officejet pro 8500a printer that has stopped printing. It will not print anything off of my HP pavilion notebook and I just found out that it will not copy anything either. Does anyone know what the problem may be?

HI @anewleaf , and welcome to the HP Forums!
I see you're running into copy and print issues.  I'd love to help!
I have a few questions before we get the ball rolling:
Are you using Windows or Macintosh?
If you are using Windows, is it a 32-bit or a 64-bit system?
    Do you recieve any errors?
Is the printer not printing any pages, or printing blank pages?
I'm including documents that will help you find the system info:
Mac OS X: How Do I Find Which Mac OS X Version Is on My Computer?
Which Windows operating system am I running?
Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?
Please let me know what you find.  Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

  • I have a hp officejet pro 8500a premium printer,

I changed the ink cartridges that it ask for and it still says that they are empty. i cleaned it with alochol and turn it off for 10 min. also all night and it still says they are empty. please help. Thanks

    Hi bobo230,
Are the new cartridges genuine HP cartridges or refilled/remanufactured cartridges?
If you have installed a refilled or remanufactured cartridge, or a cartridge that has been used in another printer, the ink level indicator might be inaccurate or unavailable.

  • I have a HP OfficeJet Pro K550 with a default static IP address and I can't access it to change it.

Because this printer's default static IP is not in my subnet and my network does not have a DHCP server I am unable to access the settings I need to change the IP address to one I can use.  I am using Windows 7 64-bit and am plugged into the printer via USB.  I know if I had an IP address from my network I could type it into the address bar and open up far more settings but I am unsure how to do that since the default IP is not on my network.

I assume you cannot log into the printer's subnet temporarily?  Can you disconnect the printer from that subnet temporarily?  Can you connect an Ethernet cable between the printer and your PC?

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500A Used to print now I have to reinstall everyday

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus e-All-in-One Printer - A910g that used to work beautifully.
My computer hung one day and I had to hard restart it (kill the power after it was frozen for 10 minutes) . Since then I have to uninstall the HP printer (from the Start menu) and reinstall it daily in order for the printer to be recognized an able to communicater.  I ran the diagnostic utility - it was found on the network, the IP address does not change, my PC finds it and I can open the printer page in the browser, see all of the address information, ink information etc.
I can print a test page from the browser, but when I try to print a pdf or print from word I get the message unable to communicae with Printer.
I am thinking I need to completely wipe the HP software and start over, but the uninstaller does not do that.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. This is getting really annoying.
    Thanks

Try using the multilevel uninstaller in the HP software driver CD. Browse the contents of the CD and look for the "Util" folder and open it. In the "Util" folder, open the "CCC" folder. In the "CCC" folder, double click on the "Uninstall_L3.bat" file. Don't use the "Uninstall_L4.bat" file. It could remove files that have shared dependencies with the HP software. Restart the computer and then reinstall the software afterwards. Let me know if it worked or not.

  • Booklet printing hp officejet pro 8500a plus

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus and run Win 7 64-bit and MS Office 2010 Pro.  I can print booklet format from PDF documents, but not from Word.  In Word, when selecting [Print Properties], I can choose [booklet], but once I click on OK, this setting is discarded and defaults back to full page double-sided printing.  How can I fix this? I have tried it with a different printer and it then works from Word, suggesting that the problem probably lies with the printer driver.

NOTE:    The printer driver does not support manual duplexing. Two-sided printing requires an HP Automatic Two-sided Printing Accessory to be installed on the device
found online in user guide  I am researching to find a printer that can do booklet printing

  • Why can't I print to my HP OfficeJet Pro 8500A Plus All-in-One from my wired PC?

I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 8500A Plus All-in-One on my network.  My router is wireless, which several of my devices (laptops, ipads, etc.) use to get an internet connection, but I have one desktop PC that is actually wired to the router via ethernet cable.  For some reason, when I attempt to print to the 8500 from the wired PC, the doc just sits in the que, eventally registering as an 'error'. But all of my wirelss devices can print to it just fine.
Oddly, this is somewhat of an intermittent issue, as I have printed successfully from this PC before, but I can't right now.  I'll also throw this in: I have at times, plugged an ethernet cable into my wireless-capable laptop and had the same issue.  But then I just unplug the calbe, reboot, and turn on wireless, and can print without any issues ... so I suspect it has something to do with the fact that the PC is wired to the router.
Don't know if this has anytthing to do with it, but my wireless network is called 'FrogNet', but my wired PC doesn't see 'FrogNet' like all my wireless devices do.  It just indicates that this is part of a generic network.   Ideas?  (All computers run Win7.)

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus - Magenta Not Printing

I have an HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus (A910), Model number CM756A, Serial number: [Moderator edited Serial Number] that is not printing magenta.
Firmware version: LRP1FN1231AR. Service ID 21057. IK Number 658.
Software version: 028.000.1315.000. Printer Driver version: 09.84.00.1189
The Printhead Status for all cartridges reports as "Good" in the Self Test Diagnostic Page.
I have run a Print Quality Diagnostics and in Test Pattern 2 there is no red/magenta colored block appearing.
I did not have any alert for low print quantity, however I replaced the Magenta inkcartridge with an HP Officejet 940XL new magenta ink cartridge (HP genuine) and still there is no Magenta printing.
When I open the ink cartridge holder, the printer shows HP Model: A910g, HP Ink Cartridge 940.
I have gone through this exercise several times, however the latest Magenta ink cartridge that I removed from the printer prior to replacing had the following information on it:  C4908A, 2016/05/22.  The newest cartridge I put in has a September 2017 expiration date (part number C4908A).
I am not getting any error messages or anything, there is just no Magenta being printed.
First - I would like to know how to fix this issue with the HP printer.
Second - is there anyway to get a refund for the ink cartridges I have had to use (and waste) trying to resolve this problem.
    Thank you.

  • HP Officejet pro 8500A premium, all-in-one printer, scanner problems

I have an HP Officejet pro 8500A premium, all-in-one printer.
Tried uninstalling using the HP supplied uninstall software and installed recommended OSX 10.8 software for this device.
I use wireless scanning. Scanner only scans the first page then shows an error.
Anyone have this problem as well and any possible solutions?
    Thanks

The HP Scan works just fine in Mountain Lion for me. Always has.
    OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909a
I think the original poster needs to reinstall the latest software for the printer that came with his printer or directly from HP. Then, install the Apple HP updates.
When he unistalled the HP software, it may have removed the software needed for HP Scan to work properly.
The last software I installed from HP was -> HP_Installer_Officejet_Full_Group05_10.3.dmg
Yes, there have been Apple HP updates, but they never stopped my HP Scan from working.
